Chapter 1000 Don't Take Revenge

"Heh. I'm going to take my time! You never cared for Elisa. Why did you ignore your work when you heard she met

trouble? You're not even chasing me out! Gareth, you should be more honest."

Vincent didn't want to toy with Gareth's emotions; he simply wanted him to acknowledge his own.

Elisa was becoming finer by the day. So many men wanted to garner her attention and be affiliated with her. Will

Darcey was one of them. There were other more influential and handsome men. Gareth would only drive Elisa

farther away if he kept looking for ways to anger her. If he didn't appreciate her, someone else would.

"What are you doing?" Gareth said to Vincent as his brows knitted together.

"Saving the world! What do you think?" Vincent was dumbfounded. He continued sourly, "I'm doing this to give you

another chance. I know you don't want to admit you like her or face your true feelings. Did you not worry when I

said she was in trouble? Did you not have the instinct to protect her?"

Vincent continued when he saw Gareth furrowing his brows. "I wasn't lying. Linda didn't send those assassins

nov.elxo after Elisa the last two times. There's a mastermind behind Linda, and that person will probably make a

move soon! Elisa might be good at fighting, but one day..."

Gareth's glare suddenly cut Vincent's rant short. He laughed as though he had picked up on something. "Look at

yourself! Are you not going to admit to it? I'm not even sure if you're trying to keep your dignity in front of me or if

you're oblivious to your own feelings! You don't have to care about your image in front of me. I just want to see you

happy. You need to search your heart for answers," Vincent advised earnestly. A solemn emotion flitted across his

eyes as he spoke. He did not know if it was an abrupt emotion or something else.

Gareth's face hardened, but there was a conflicted emotion in his obsidian eyes. He finally opened his mouth

nov.elxo and said with a voice that chilled the bones, "Tell me more about what happened today."

Vincent snorted, realizing he had said all he needed to. It was up to Gareth what he did next. Vincent relayed the

events at the court to him.

"I didn't see the evidence that was submitted. Elisa is determined to destroy that family. We're waiting for the

second trial, but that would only happen if Elisa is still alive. Otherwise, all her inheritance will go to the Benett

family."

"What happened after the trial?" Gareth's eyes turned frostier.

"After they left, Norman invited Elisa for a meal, and I went with them. They played a recording of Elisa's father

before his death, probably hoping that Elisa would give up on the case and not take revenge. But, you know Elisa,

she's pretty stubborn. She walked off straight away."
