No More Waiting, She Chooses Love -
Chapter 707
"Don't move," Phipps' voice was hoarse, losing its previous affected softness.
So it was just an act. He pressed closer, "You're so cool to the touch, it feels amazing..."
Just then, someone emerged from the diner, casting a glance our way. Phipps swiftly scooped me up in a bear hug and strode towards his car.
Even as this happened, I didn't stop teasing him, either snuggling into his chest or playfully nibbling at his shirt button. I could distinctly feel the changes in him. His muscles tensed, his heartbeat quickened, and even his body temperature seemed to rise...
Clearly, maintaining composure in such moments was a myth.
Finally, as Phipps set me down in his car, I wrapped my arms around his neck, leaning in to kiss his Adam's apple...
Alright, I admit that in that moment, I was teasing him, and stirring something within myself too.
Ever since Ernest and I had our falling out, it had been months since I indulged in any carnal pleasures...
All this teasing had sparked a craving in me, a desire that felt almost intoxicating.
Phipps grabbed my arms, stopping me short. He looked me in the eyes, "Look at me, I'm Phipps, not your Ernest. Are you sure about this?"
He's not Ernest!
The scoundrel, still playing his games.
So, in a bold move, I pressed forward, planting a retaliatory kiss on his throat, even drawing in a deep breath.
This wasn't my first time, but this time I put in extra effort.
He let out a muffled grunt but didn't push me away until I could no longer hold myself up and fell back onto the seat, panting and with a trembling gaze fixed on him.
Phipps returned my stare, yet he remained silent. But in his eyes, I no longer saw the unfamiliarity typical of Phipps. Instead, there was an old, familiar flutter of excitement, restraint, and turmoil...
He was torn about letting me know he was actually Ernest, wasn't he?
But I knew he had his reasons for
keeping his identity secret from me, reasons that likely tied into some larger scheme of his. Revealing
himself now might Jel
everything, so I couldn't push him into a corner.
Just as I decided to back off, Phipps leaned in, "Are you sure you want this?"
His eyes flickered, and he whispered softly, "If you want, I'm here..."
He must think I'm under some spell, unwilling to see me in distress, right?
Truth be told, did want him, right here and now, to dive into a
passio
reunion. But
remembering who he really was, and considering the future interactions with his 'alter ego,' I forced myself to suppress the rising desire within.
"Aren't you the one who said you're all about the performance, not the sale?" I blurted, killing the mood.
Phipps' Adam's apple bobbed, the
mark I made on him standing out like a tempting berry. He whispered close to my ear, "It doesn't count if I don't take your money."
Wow!
He was offering a free ride.
It seemed this man was ready for it...
I pushed him away, "Freebies are never any good. I don't want it for free. Get lost, I don't want you. I need to replace someone better."
The next second, he pulled my hand away from his neck, holding it steady, the one with the bell bracelet. "Whether you want it or not isn't up to you anymore."
He started the car, leaving me sprawled in the back seat.
He rolled down all the windows, and the night air whipped through the car, tangling my hair further.
More tangled than my hair, though, were my thoughts...
Tonight, was I really going to be unable to resist him?
