Zachary stiffened, his fingers trembling. He was stunned for a long while before he managed to respon

No.

He stared at the phone screen, waiting for a response from Lenora. As time stretched on without a repl the tension within him tightened further, prompting a sense of unease that made it hard for him to sta still.

He feared that Lenora would see through him, yet he was also afraid that Lenora wouldn't.

Lenora stared blankly at the screen, feeling even more puzzled.

His reply only served to deepen her suspicions.

Could it really have been Elijah's friend?

Why would Elijah's friend reply to her messages on his behalf?

That friend of Elijah who had never shown his face before...

A man flashed through Lenora's mind.

She chuckled at herself, shaking her head. How did she end up thinking about him again?

"Nora, didn't you say you were tired? Why aren't you resting?" As Sophia and Fiona ascended the stairs, they found Lenora standing at the stairwell, engrossed in her phone.

"Oh, I found the room a bit stuffy, so I came out for some fresh air."

Couldn't she have just open the windows if the room was stuff? She could've enjoyed the Aurora through the windows as well.

Sophia cast a dubious glance at Lenora, then like a fired bullet, she darted to her side, swiftly catching at glimpse of her mobile phone.

Lenora quickly turned off the screen.

However, she was still a beat too slow.

Sophia caught a glimpse of the name "Elijah" flashing briefly at the top of her WhatsApp contact list.

She smirked slyly. "Oh, so you were hiding your chat with Elijah! No wonder!"

It was immediately clear to Lenora that Sophia had misunderstood. "It's not what you're thinking. I just...

In Sophia's eyes, Lenora's explanations were all but excises. "No need to explain, I get it, I get it. Elijah is tall and handsome, perhaps not as wealthy as Tyrant Fuller, but he has a rich friend, so he wouldn't be destitute. You guys could give it a shot, mainly because it's obvious he has a lot going on..."

This doesn't make any sense.

"It's not what you're thinking, I just found him a bit odd"

Upon hearing Lenora's words, Sophia slapped her thigh. "I know what's odd about him!"

"Do you remember someone bumping into you at the domestic airport? If I'm not mistaken, that was Elijah. I believe he was smitten with you from the first moment he saw you, which is why you might have felt it was a bit peculiar!" Lenora was taken aback. "Really?"

"Of course. You were probably lost in your own thoughts back then, not paying attention to his appearance."

Is that so

So, because Elijah had fallen for her at first sight, he followed her everywhere?

Was that why he was often caught staring at her?

Could this possibly make sense?

Next, Elijah sent another message to clarify: I had to use the restroom, the previous message was from my friend. He's just suffered a heartbreak and seeing how popular I am with the ladies, he got a bit jealous and decided to joke around. Apologies for that, I came here specifically to keep him company this time, but we should hang out together

when there's a chance.

Lenora was somewhat baffled.

Could it be that she was overthinking?

At that moment, Fiona spoke again. "What about Jonas? I think Jonas and Nora are a better match."

Lenora felt somewhat helpless. "What does this have to do with Jonas?"

Fiona gave her phone a little shake. "He just texted me, said he's coming to replace us."

The last time Fiona had dinner with Lenora and Jonas, she had always thought highly of them both. It was also quite evident that Jonas had a bit of a soft spot for Lenora.

"What?" Lenora was surprised, "Isn't he filming?"

"He had wrapped up his work and came to France for some promotional activities. He had a day off and mentioned he would visit us tomorrow. Given the tight schedule, he must be coming specifically for you." Sophia was taken aback. "So, you were also involved with Jonas..."

"No way! We're just friends!" Lenora quickly denied, her head spinning-

Why are you so worked up?"

Fiona suggested, "He's running short on time, he probably won't be able to make it here. Besides, we've pretty much seen everything around here. Why don't we head back to Torthbury now, have dinner with him, and then go straight to Capston Island?"

"Absolutely!" Sophia immediately nodded, playfully ring at Lenora "Oh my, ever since our dear Not got divorced, the admirers just started for king in Three in a row, no les

"All right, all right, I'll stop In the end, it's your choice in my eyes, Elijah and Jonas are both great options!"

Lenora was speechless.

Jonas sent his flight details to Fiona

Fiona noticed they still had some time. They decided to take a brief rest for a few hours in the hotel before leaving Summer Island.

Alter dropping off their luggage at the hotel, they drove straight to the airport. They waited for roughly twenty minutes before they saw Jonas emerge from the terminal building.

He wore a baseball cap and a black mask, carrying no luggage with him. He was dressed in a long black down jacket that somehow didn't make him look bulky Fiona waved him over.

Jonas approached the car, glancing through the windshield to catch a glimpse of Lenora in the backseat. He lowered his mask halfway and asked, "I hope I didn't hold you up?" His pleasant voice came through, accompanied by a puff of white breath from his lips.

"No," Fiona said, "We've explored all of Summer Island, and we were planning to head back anyway. Let's get in the car"

Jonas pulled open the backseat car door and sat down next to Lenora.

He wasn't particularly close with Sophia, so he simply nodded at her in acknowledgement. Then, turning his head, he asked, "Nora, are you feeling better now?"

"I'm much better now, otherwise, I wouldn't have dared to travel here. What about you? I heard you've already wrapped up your shooting, that was quick, wasn't it?"

"A while back, didn't they replace the female lead? They had to remove her scenes and it took time to select a new lead. As a result, my scenes were moved up and we finished filming earlier than expected"

Unable to hold back, Sophia remarked, "The mistress got what she deserved

Jonas glanced at her and chuckled, "However, the rumor going around in our circle now is that Zachary is about to marry Susanna. That's why they don't want Sukinna to be in the public eye anymore. All her public appearances have been cancelled, and she hasn't been seen in public for quite some time."

Upon hearing this, Lenora lowered her gaze, her fair fagers clutching the leather bag tightened.

Indeed, he was going to marry Susana soon.

Just moments ago, she was speculating that Elijali's friend was him, amusing herself with her own wishful thinking. How ridiculous indeed.

Jonas studied Lenora's expression carefully, observing the subtle calmness on her face. A sense of joy his heart. She must have moved on, hadn't she?

So, did he have a chance then?

Scumbag men and cheap women, a perfect match!" Sophia muttered under her breath.

Upon reaching the restaurant, the four of them settled in and each ordered a few dishes.

Jonas closed the menu and handed it to the waiter, then asked, "Our meeting is too brief this time. Whe are you guys heading back to our homeland? Let's catch up again once we're back!" "RougeBabe will be leaving earlier, around mid-month," I said. "SugarSoph and I are thinking of explori some other places."

Jonas raised an eyebrow. "Have you decided where to go?"

"Not yet."

"How about Archulea? I remember you mentioning that you wanted to visit when you were younger." With a raised eyebrow, Lenora asked, "You remember all that? I've long since forgotten. What did she know back then? Her claim of wanting to go to Archulea was probably just an offhand remark.

"Of course I remember, Back then, you saw a newspaper at my place, it had a picture of the Sloummont Opera House on it. You pointed at the picture and said you wanted to visit when you grew up." Sophia's gaze flickered between the two of them. "Sure, Nora, let's go to Archulea. It's the perfect time for a trip there right now."

"All right." Lenora agreed.

Chuckling, Jonas said, "I should be free then, I'll join you guys."
