Nobilis of War
Chapter 1156 Owen Made His Move

"Why? What happened?"

shouted Olivia, with a sullen expression on her face. She had just felt that Darren's strength was definitely the best among the participants. 'Why can't he pass the test?' She was confused.

"Miss Olivia, this man has offended Owen and his brother. I'm afraid..." Elder Hassan said honestly.

"Huh! How dare Owen hurt that genius? I swear his life will be over if he continues to be so reckless," Olivia said coldly.

"Okay. In that case, I'll go and warn Owen now," Elder Hassan said nervously.

"Warn him? None of that. If he dares to break the rules and steps out of line one more time, I'll kill him myself," Olivia said in a murderous tone.

When Elder Hassan heard this, a cold sweat broke down his back. Olivia was known to be really moody. She was very quick to kill people.

"I understand. Shall I take my leave?" said Elder Hassan, quickly retreating.

"It seems that this young man will enjoy a high position in the future since Miss Olivia favors him so much. Perhaps I should treat him better," Elder Hassan whispered.

The first round of assessment finally came to an end.

There were still five people left in the arena, three of whom were masters who were about to reach the top-level Primary God Realm. Only Darren and Jeff were still at the middle-level Primary God Realm.

"For the remaining five, you must draw lots. One of you will be promoted directly." As Elder Hassan said this, he threw five balls of light into the air, but he quickly shifted them around in a sneaky way. The ball of "promotion" had to fall into Darren's hands.

In this way, it would save Elder Hassan a lot of trouble.

"What happened? Why was that brat chosen to proceed directly to the next round?"

After the result came out, Jeff's face turned sour with spite.

"Jeff, it was a lucky draw. It really only proves that he's lucky. Please let him go," Elder Hassan said and slowly flew over.

"Bullshit! Old man, you're pulling a trick on all of us. Are you seriously helping him on purpose?" Jeff jumped out of the arena and angrily grabbed Elder Hassan by the collar.

"How dare you!"

Elder Hassan pushed Jeff away and fixed his collar with a huff.

"Do not forget your place here! You are just a disciple who has yet to join the sect. How dare you disrespect me? I'll have you know this offense is enough reason for us to kill you!" Elder Hassan's strength was at the Domain God Realm. He was only polite towards Jeff because Jeff's brother, Owen, was the chief disciple of the Third Elder in the sect.

Although now, since Olivia had come out and vouched for Darren to win, it was no longer necessary for him to be so polite with Jeff and save the Third Elder's reputation. It was truly unnecessary!

"Old man, you are just in charge of registration. How dare you be so rude to us?" At this moment, Owen seemed to be very displeased.

'Although you are an elder, you're just assigned to the mundane tasks. How dare you insult my brother right in front of me? You are looking down upon me!' thought Owen spitefully.

"I know my job is quite trivial, but I'm still an elder. Owen, I pray you can show me some respect. Besides, the lucky draw just now was sustained by the magic power of Elder Noah, another powerful elder, but Jeff is contesting the validity. Could you possibly be dissatisfied with Elder Noah?" Elder Hassan spat coldly. He showed no fear.

Owen frowned. 'Why does Elder Hassan seem so different today? He seems more arrogant now.'

"Jeff, not another word from you. Elder Hassan is a fair and just person. How could you possibly suggest that he tampered with the draw? Apologize now!" Owen was not a simple man. Something special must have happened, since Elder Hassan's attitude had changed this much. It was with Owen's better judgment that he decided not to further provoke him.

"Owen, how could you defend him like that?" Jeff hissed bitterly.

"Shut up! I asked you to apologize. Do I have to repeat myself?" Owen bellowed these words loudly in anger, which startled Jeff.

"Okay." Noticing Owen's long face, Jeff reluctantly looked at Elder Hassan and said, "I'm very sorry."

"Well then, let's continue."

The four who didn't draw the promotion ball entered the arena. Not long after, the victory and defeat was decided.

Jeff won the first place, and in the second place was a man called Fredrick Xu. As Darren was promoted directly, he was placed in the third.

Even though Jeff won the first place, he was still very unhappy, because he failed to kill Darren.

"Lucky you! You will know exactly what cruelty is after you become a disciple of the sect!" Jeff walked down the arena and said to Darren with his teeth clenched.

"If you want to fight, just come." Darren was emotionless and always looked calm. This attitude frustrated Jeff even more because his intimidation tactics just wouldn't work.

"Owen, let's go." After giving Darren a piercing look, Jeff was about to leave for the sect to register.

"Wait!" Owen waved his hand, gesturing for him to stop and then walked up to Larkin.

"Have you forgotten who said you were 'trash'?" Owen stared at Larkin, his eyes shooting a fierce light.

"I... I didn't mean to say that. Please spare my life." Larkin began to tremble in fear.

Jeff jumped over and kicked Larkin hard in the stomach. "Damn it! I almost forgot to kill you. Spare your life? Are you kidding me? Then my brother will lose face, and everyone in the sect will look down upon me!"

As Jeff spoke, he was just ready to kill Larkin.

"Fuck off!"

Darren's figure flashed defensively in front of Larkin. A streak of god-level blade and sword intents swirled out and forced Jeff back.

"Brat, how dare you stop me?" Jeff's chest began to heave with anger, and even Owen felt humiliated.

"Don't think being a disciple of the Cloud Forest Sect means you can do whatever you want. I swear, I'm still hell bent on killing you," Owen said, gnashing his teeth.

"Oh? You want to kill me? Go ahead, you're welcome to try, and the pleasure is all mine." Darren, in a purple robe, exuded an imposing manner. He stood firmly as he stretched out his hand while mock offering himself.

"Okay!" Owen's face turned livid with rage. He snapped, "You shameless bastard! I'm going to kill you!"

Bang!

Owen waved his hand, which seemed to now contain the power to destroy the entire world. Darren was at the Primary God Realm. He was weaker than Owen who was at the low-level Domain God Realm. The oncoming palm attack definitely looked fatal to Darren. He quickly dodged to avoid as much of the palm's power as possible. In retaliation, Darren released a fierce dark gold god's power and hit Owen's palm.

Bang!

The dark gold god's power threw off Owen's attack and Darren was thrown into the air from the impact.

Even if Darren used the dark gold god's power, he couldn't resist the power of the Domain God Realm. After all, there was still a great gap between the two realms. However, after this blow, Owen realized it was not as easy to kill Darren as he'd imagined. His palm was bleeding profusely and his defense had just been broken through!

The result was a great shock to Owen. He hadn't expected that a young man at the Primary God Realm could possibly break his defense!

'He really is different,' Owen thought to himself. He could feel how powerful the dark gold god's power was. If Darren was at the same level as him, he would have been dead by now.

"I must kill him, or he'll be big trouble for us in the future." His mettle to kill Darren solidified even more.

Right now, Darren was just a qualifier of the Cloud Forest Sect and he hadn't officially been accepted as a disciple of the sect yet. If Owen killed him, Owen would only get a bad scolding at worst. If he let Darren go, once he became more powerful, things would get out of hand.

Whoosh!

Owen ran towards Darren in a flash.

Whoosh!

An arrow of god's power shot out of Owen's palm, and by then the arrow had already gathered ninety percent of his power!
