Chapter 62: He is a Brother With Whom We Share Blood. Chapter 62: He is a Brother With Whom We Share Blood Sebastian's POV

When I arrived at the Council meeting with Winnie and delivered my speech, the old men immediately sensed that things had changed.

They were stunned, looking at us in disbelief, not quite sure what was happening.

I didn't lay everything bare for them, but Martell took over and continued speaking.

His words conveyed the truth of the matter, and the Harold family was so shocked they couldn't speak. They had no idea how to counter the Alpha, especially after their own daughter had caused such a stir. Now their entire family was on edge, fearing the potential consequences.

"How is everything at the castle?" I couldn't help but ask as Ethan Vrzogic, looking weary from his travels, sat down next to me.

"I'm happy to report, Alpha, there haven't been any major issues. Luna is resting in her room, and there are no signs of anyone around her."

Hearing his report, I felt a sense of relief.

Since receiving the letter, Melissa had seemed uneasy, and I couldn't help but wonder if this was all part of someone's scheme to lure her away.

What made me anxious was that, although she was willingto stay with me and loved me deeply, out fated mates still hadn't appear..

Moreover, with my mother and brothers constantly eyeing my position, eagerly awaiting the opportunity for full-scale war, I had no time to focus on anything else.

"However, Melissa has been feeling quite unwell, so I called a doctor to her room to check on her. She insisted that I not tell you, but I could tell that she doesn't look well at all."

She always did this, not wanting me to worry. I sighed helplessly, pondering who could have possibly poisoned her in such an unexpected situation.

I was about to leave and go to Melissa when Debra suddenly appeared, blocking my way.

When people saw the two of us together, the mood around us shifted dramatically. Their eyes turned suspicious, and I could sense the tension in the air. ""Aren't you supposed to be heading to the Howell?"

Hearing my words, Debra's expression showed reluctance, her face becoming more pale with every passing moment. She looked increasingly nervous. "Alpha, I need to speak with you alone."

I didn't say much, just gestured for everyone to leave and followed her out. As we stepped.

"Do you still care about me and your brothers?" She looked at me with sincerity, her voice trembling slightly, "I know what we did last time was unforgivable, and I am deeply sorry. But betraying the kingdom is a grave crime. If you condemn your brothers to such a fate, the consequences for them will be catastrophic. I'm truly sorry for the trouble Vince caused you. How you've handled him is justified. But Geraint... he hasn't done anything wrong. What you did for Luna wasn't right, but I don't blame her. I just think, we're still family. I've been thinking about it a lot... we shouldn't have come to this point."

Her words were deeply sincere, but her past actions made it hard for me to trust her. I was still worried they might hurt Melis

"But Mom, you've hurt her. Even though she hasn't said anything and doesn't seem to mind, I can tell. You've insulted her, called her worthless, and said all sorts of things provoke her. Those wounds are real!"

As I spoke, I saw the sorrow in Debra's eyes. She bowed her head slightly, her gaze full of regret.

"Do you know? She's the one who's been stirring things up. Originally, Vince and Geraint might not have done anything at all. But she's been pushing you to make certain decisions, leading you to make the wrong choices. Vince is indeed a difficult child, and it's easy to assume he would act that way. But please believe me-his only intention was to make things better for the North, nothing more. Melissa is the one sowing division in our kingdom. It's her influence that has led you to think about things differently, causing you to neglect all of us. She wants you to believe she's better than everyone else. Really, my child! Please trust me. Geraint, he would never betray the North."

I calmly looked at her, who was now speaking through tears, and responded with a detached tone, "From an outsider's perspective, what you're doing might make others. think that because you didn't give birth to me, you always side with them instead of me. You always highlight your own sons' virtues and never mine."

"No, no, that's not it!" Debra quickly denied, her voice filled with panic and desperation. "Sebastian, you are my child too! Since the first time I saw you as a baby, I've always treated you as my own! I even threatened Geraint, telling him he couldn't do anything harmful to you. If he ever did, I would sever ties with him. So, it's impossible that he's behind all this. Someone must be using him to make you believe he has done these things. Please, believe me. Maybe Vince really did make a mistake, but Geraint hasn't done. anything wrong! He's the oldest of you three, but he's always been honest and humble, never asking for anything. He only joined the Pack this year to atone for his brother's mistakes. If you do this, you'll hurt him. I know it's not your fault, but he wanted to show- you all that we don't have any ulterior motives!"

Debra's words were full of sincerity, and it was clear she was pleading from the bottom of her heart to defend her son.

It was hard not to be moved by her determination, especially since, growing up, no one had ever done this for me

Seeing that I remained silent, she must have assumed I was still upset about Melissa, so she quickly explain earnestly, "As for Melissa, I will personally apologize to her. I

Chapter 62: He is a Brother With Whom We Share Blood shouldn't have laid a hand on her. But I am truly worried that her presence might be influencing us. After all, her identity is incredibly sensitive. I can't say the same about Atrias, though. He, too, is an Alpha. He holds a grudge against our family because his mother was violated by your father, and that's how he was born. Now you've taken his fate away from him."

Debra's words struck me like a thunderbolt. I turned my head in shock, my voice lowering as I asked, "Do you realize what you're saying?"

I was aware that she knew something about Melissa that hadn't been disclosed, something hidden beneath the surface. I motioned for her to sit down, urging her to explain more carefully. "Based on Melissa's recent reactions, I think, besides being poisoned, she might also be pregnant," she said. Upon hearing her words, I suddenly became flustered.

"P-pregnant?" I stammered, a mix of confusion and panic seizing me. "Are you sure?"

"Don't worry, Sebastian! I'm a mother; I know the signs. Her body is rejecting the pregnancy, and the mental and physical strain is taking its toll. She needs rest, time to recover, and she'll be fine." "But she's had children before. How could she not know what being pregnant feels like?" I asked in confusion. I hadn't expected Debra to have such a sharp understanding of Melissa's condition. But if what she said were true... part of me was strangely relieved, even happy.

"Congratulations, Sebastian, We'll soon have a healthy heir with Alpha genes."

Debra's expression wasn't as joyful as her tone of voice.

"I hope she's willing to give me another chance. My apology was probably too... grandiose the first time."

"It's okay. I believe she'll forgive you. Melissa is a very understanding girl. But as for what

said about her being Atrias's fate, and the fact that Atrias and we share blood ties, I think it's time you told me everything."
