Not His Type Of Mate
Chapter 182

Alpha Leo's POV

I was asleep when I heard sounds in the room, and I opened my eyes to see who it was that was talking. I smiled when I saw Nora and Maddison in the room, staring at me. Nora was the first to notice that I had opened my eyes, and she ran toward me and sat beside me. "You're awake, Alpha Leo," she said excitedly, and I smiled. "Yes, I am. When did you get here?" I asked, and she turned her head to look at Maddison, who was also staring at me with a big smile on his face. "We've been here for a while, but you were sleeping. It's nice to see that you are awake and okay," Maddison said as he walked over to my side, and I smiled again.

It was nice seeing them around, and they made me genuinely happy. Nora looked at me all over and sighed. "I will heal you now," she said and was about to place her hand on my head when Madison grabbed her hand and shook his head. "I will do that. You're in pain, right, Leo? I'm sure speaking is quite difficult too, right?" He asked, and I felt like laughing, but I still nodded my head as I waited for him to continue, and he returned his attention to Nora. "Can you see? He needs a professional healer like me, not lower-class healers like you, girl." He mocked Nora, and I chuckled.

Nora removed her hand from his and sneered. "We don't need healers like you here either. This is something I can handle, and your help is not needed, okay?" She responded, but Maddison refused to back down as he shook his head and looked at her. "Let me do this, Nora. You are not even strong enough to help him, and you want to do that?" He asked, and Nora rolled her eyes before she turned to me. "Alpha Leo, don't you agree that I should be the one to heal you? I mean, I know more about healing, even though he is stronger than me but I'm more careful than him too. What do you think?" She asked me, but Maddison shook his head immediately and held my hand. "No, Leo. You know it's poison, and I'm more skilled in dealing with that than her. I should be the one to heal you because I have the skills, and I will be able to fully heal you. Nora dear, just leave this to me to settle." He said. I watched the two argue for a while longer before I laughed and waved my hand. Laughing was hard for me as my body wouldn't stop aching, but they were just so funny that I couldn't help but laugh because of them. "Okay, okay... I should choose a person, right?" I asked, and they both nodded. They both looked like kids who were curiously waiting for their mother to share candy with them, and their cuteness was something to laugh about. "Hmm..." I started thinking about who to choose, although I already had someone in mind. Some sentences are incomplete if you are not reading this novel on Jo b nlb.com. I asked her, and she nodded her head. She looked at Maddison, who was already laughing with his hands covering his mouth and staring at her in a teasing way. She pouted, crossed her arms, and returned her gaze to me. "I just wanted to help you. You've always been helping me, but I've never been able to do that for you before." She lamented, and I smiled.

"You being here is helpful enough. Thanks, Nora," I said to her, and she nodded her head. She looked at Maddison and rolled her eyes. "Better do a good job," she said, and Maddison chuckled. I chuckled too and closed my eyes so he could start the healing. He placed his hand on my head, and as usual, I knew he would close his eyes. He stayed there, quietly for a while before I opened my eyes to look at him, and he opened his eyes soon after. "You're alright now. I've removed all the poison, and the rest that had entered vital points and can't be removed has been neutralized. I made sure it would never affect you ever and even used some parts of it to nurture your bones," Maddison explained to me, and I breathed in relief. "You just need to rest for a while, and you will be fully fine again," he added, and I couldn't hide my joy as I smiled weakly.

Knowing that I would soon be leaving the bed made me very relieved, and I couldn't wait to see those werewolves who already saw me as their role model and the Council of werewolves praising me too. All these were in my head when the door opened, and Ava came in. She walked over to me and stood by my side. "Are you hungry now?" She asked calmly, like a good person that she never was, and I felt irritated. "Leave," I said, and I saw her expression darken, but I cared less.

Nora seemed to be confused too as she looked at me with confusion in her eyes. "What's going on, Alpha Leo? Why do you want her to leave?" She asked curiously, and it was obvious it was out of her concern for my relationship. I sucked in a deep breath and looked away. "It's complicated, Nora, and she knows she doesn't deserve to be in this room. She is giving me a headache by being here, and I want her out of here," I said to her, and she understood. She stood up from her seat and looked at Ava. "Let's go out and talk," she said, and they both walked out of the room.

Maddison watched them leave the room before he sat on the seat and looked at me with questions in his eyes. "Tell me, is she truly your second-chance mate?" He asked, and I nodded my head. I had never introduced Ava to him as my mate because of these things that had been happening between us these days, but it felt good that he knew already, even though my biggest wish at the moment was to reject her and live my life without her. "Yes, She is," I replied, and he smiled. He was quiet for a while before he cleared his throat, and his expression turned serious. "So, what happened? Why are you two fighting so soon?" He asked, and I let out a deep breath.

I would have loved to keep the matter to myself, but Maddison wasn't someone I could keep something away from. I turned to face him and sighed. "You won't believe that she is like a punishment to me. I've never been happy since I discovered she is my second- chance mate simply because her attitude sucks. She made me go to her house to start living with her..." I explained to him how she and her friends were smoking and drinking, how she responded to me when I tried to correct her, and finally, I told him about how she refused to help even when my mother was kidnapped.

"I pleaded with her, man. I asked her to help me, but she said she couldn't. I thought she was joking when she said 'No,' but it all became clear to me when she teleported away and never returned. I waited a few minutes for her in my room before I left, but she didn't show up, and even after we took the cars and drove out of the mansion, she still wasn't there. She is a bad person, Madison, and she doesn't care about me at all." I explained to Maddison, who grunted and was quiet for a while.

It seemed like he was thinking of what to say for a while, but he finally looked at me and shook his head. "This is bad. Very terrible. How could she do that?" He asked, and I scoffed. I was surprised too at first, but after all this, nothing would surprise me again. "After this, I will end everything with her and reject her too," I told him my plans, but he quickly shook his head and looked at me with disapproval in his eyes. "You shouldn't do that, Leo. Don't let your anger make decisions for you, and I think you should calm down first before making any decision about this matter, okay? You don't even know why the moon goddess chose her to be your second-chance mate. She might have a plan for you two." He tried to persuade me, but I had already made up my mind, and it wasn't going to change no matter what.

"I don't care, Maddison. I will reject her and marry a random lady as my wife. I don't care about a mate or whatsoever anymore, Maddison, and I don't think I will ever change my mind either." I replied to him, and that was the truth. "Why don't you calm down first? I don't want you to make a decision you will later regret because it happens a lot. Getting the things that you lost back used to be very difficult, and not everyone is lucky to have such an opportunity. Why don't you calm down and think this through before making any decisions? Trust me, Leo. I'm in support of whatever decision you make after you think over everything again." He said to me, and I sneered. "I'm not going to change my mind, Maddison," I replied.

I was about to continue when the door opened, and Nora came in. She walked over to my side and sucked in a deep breath. "Can I have a moment with you, please?" She asked, looking at me and indicating that she was talking to me.

I nodded my head, and Maddison nodded too. He stood up and looked at me again. "Excuse me then. I will be outside." He said and left the room, but I knew he still had a lot to talk about. To him, it felt like I made the decision because of my anger toward Ava, but that was a lie.

"It's about Ava, she feels guilty and wants to apologize to you. She likes you a lot, Alpha Leo. She is just feeling insecure and scared of your feelings toward her. Why don't you forgive her and give her another chance?" She said, but I could only smile as her words amused me. "Insecure? That doesn't sound right." I replied. "She will change, Alpha Leo. She told me everything that happened, and I know she was wrong, but she was ready to make things right, and she promised me that she would never do anything that would frustrate you anymore. She is truly ready to change." She said, and I grunted.
