Not His Type Of Mate
Chapter 186

Alpha Leo's POV

I was in thought, deliberating on what to do next to continue my little test with Ava when I perceived a familiar scent by the door. I tried to figure out who it was, but I knew it wasn't Ava. The person was very close to the door, and I was patiently waiting for them to enter when I remembered that I was sitting in bed instead of lying like someone who truly had paralyzed legs. I immediately lay in bed and pretended to be very sad as the door opened, and what I first saw was a leg-Cynthia entered, and I smiled when I saw that it was her. She walked over to me and stood beside me. "Alpha Leo, how do you feel now? Do you feel better?" She asked, and I nodded. "Yeah, I don't know how I'm feeling right here," I pointed to my legs and sucked in a deep breath. "But, you see right here?" Touching my heart, I continued staring at her. "I feel a lot better," I said and revealed a smile. I made it look like it was hard for me to say that I was in real pain-I acted so well that I was nearly convinced myself.

She looked sad too, and her eyes were red. "What's the plan? How long will it take for your legs to be okay? Did the healers mention any date?" She asked, totally concerned about me, and it made my heart melt-"They had no idea when it would be fine as they didn't know if it was temporary or permanent, but I hope it will be temporary. I hope it will heal soon, and I will be able to walk again." I replied and let out a deep breath. Cynthia nodded her head and sucked in a deep breath. "Yeah, it will surely be temporary. You will be fine soon." She comforted me, and I nodded my head.

We were still talking about things when I felt a presence near the door, and before I could wonder who it was, I perceived Ava's scent, and my eyes twitched. I wondered why she wasn't teleporting instead. I was still thinking about why she was by the door instead of teleporting into the room when I heard a knock on the door, and I frowned. She truly wasn't teleporting but was trying to enter through the door like everyone else. She continued knocking on the door, but I didn't reply to her. I turned to face Cynthia and revealed a smile at her. "So, hope you're enjoying your stay here?" I asked her, but she hesitated for a while before she nodded her head. "Yes, I am. I hope you are okay soon so you can escort me by the time I leave." She replied and looked at the door that Ava continued to knock. "Won't you answer that person, or you don't want them in here?" She asked cautiously while staring at the door. She must have been expecting me to reply to the person for quite a while.

I looked at the door and sighed. "I will." I said and cleared my throat. "Come in." I said nonchalantly, and the door opened immediately.

Ava walked in with a cup in her hand, and with the scent, it was obvious that it was coffee that was inside the cup. She stood by the door for a few seconds and stared at Cynthia for a while without saying a word before she walked toward us and bowed a little toward me. "I brought you coffee." She said, and I rolled my eyes. Some sentences are incomplete if you are not reading this novel on Jo b n lb.com. Visit Job ni b. com to read the complete chapters for free. "What are you doing here? I thought you left already, why did you return, and what for?" I questioned coldly, and I saw her eyes fall. She felt disappointed, but I didn't give a damn about that as I felt even more hurt by what she did to me before.

She dropped the coffee on the table beside me. "I didn't leave, and I will not leave. I have to take care of you because I'm your mate." She replied as she continued staring at the coffee on the table. I sneered. "My mate? Did you just call yourself my mate? Okay, let's take that like that, but do you think anyone will see you as a bad person if you leave me in this condition? Is that why you replace it hard to leave? Because of what people would say? Then, don't worry about that because I've got you covered. I will let them know that we were planning to do a rejection even before all these happened. You are free to leave if you want to; I won't stop you, and I won't let anyone curse you either." I said to her and turned to look away.

She raised her head and looked at me. "I won't leave. I want to stay with you, and I'm not going to leave even if you send me away." She replied, and my eyes widened. I felt like she was telling a lie, but then, was it that easy to trust someone? Never! "Even when I'm crippled like this and might never be able to walk again? Do you still want to be with me even now?" I asked her while staring at her eyes to see if she was telling the truth or not. She moved closer to me and stared into my eyes too. "Yes, I love you a lot and because I'm your mate, I don't care about your condition. I've always wanted you, only you, and I will never leave you for anything. Your condition right now doesn't stop me from loving you, and I won't stop loving you for the rest of my life, too." She replied, and my mouth hung open. I kept staring at her without being able to say a word or think about anything, as it felt like my mind was blank. "I think she meant what she said. She loves you for real." Ethan said, and that was when I got my senses back.

I was in thought for a while, but I soon shook my head and sneered. "Do you think she is telling the truth? I can't trust her, Ethan, and you should know this too." I replied to Ethan and rolled my eyes before returning my gaze to her. "Even if you say you love me and I believe it, I still can't choose you because you are not a good choice. I don't want to marry the wrong person and regret it later on." I said to her, and her eyes twitched. She shook her head in disagreement, and her lips quivered. "Oh, No! I'm not like that. I'm not a bad choice. I only acted that way then because I was jealous. I thought you liked Lady Nora more than you liked me, and because I love you so much, I got jealous and lost my mind while feigning ignorance. I'm so sorry. Please forgive me." She apologized with a flushed face, but I shook my head. "I can't, Ava. Everyone keeps saying you did that because you were jealous. Who knows what you will do in the future if you get jealous again? Would you watch Me and my mother die?" I asked her, and she staggered backward. She covered her mouth and shook her head. "No, I know that was stupid of me, but I will never try it again. Can you forgive me, please?" She apologized more.

"I sucked in a deep breath before I shook my head. "I replace it so hard to believe you, and the last thing I want is to make the wrong choice. Instead of marrying you, I would rather marry someone else and make them my mate. Even though I can't walk right now, I can still marry someone else," I turned to look at Cynthia, who was staring at the two of us without saying a word. "I know of someone who will take good care of my pack and be a good Luna. So, why don't I marry her instead of you?" I said with my eyes still fixed on Cynthia, and it was so obvious that Ava noticed, and a tear rolled down her eyes. She covered her mouth and rushed out of the room.

Cynthia walked over to my side and sighed. "What was that, Alpha Leo? What were you trying to do?" She asked, and I let out a deep breath. I stared at the door for a while before I turned to face her and smiled bitterly. "I have to do what must be done. I can't sit still, Cynthia," I said, and she raised a brow. "Is sending her away what must be done? It's so obvious that she loves you and wants to stay with you. Why can't you just forgive her and let her be with you?" She asked, but I shook my head instantly. "I can't let that happen. I can't forgive her that easily," I replied and looked away. I was done with the conversation, and I wanted her to know that too. She was quiet after that, and I was glad she did, but she soon cleared her throat.

"But why did you lie to her? Why did you tell her that you were going to marry me when you and I know that's impossible? You acted as if you didn't like her at all and tried to push her away the hardest way," she lamented, and I smiled. That was the fun of it; her look when I said that to her made me feel sad for her, but then, I felt a bit better because it assured me that she liked me at least. "I wanted to make her jealous," I replied with a smile.
