Obsessive CEO’s Sinful Wife By Lil’ Bamboo Chapter 480
Chapter 480
“Good, good. You’ve always been such a filial granddaughter, Serenity,” Granny said with a smile.
Filial? A touch of gloom appeared on Serenity’s face. If she really was filial, she would have taken her grandmother to the city to live with her so that she could take care of her.
However, right now, she was living with Jark. If she wanted to do so, she would have to talk to him first and get his consent.
“If you don’t mind, Granny, why don’t you come stay with Serenity in Solaria so that she can take care of you?” Jackson suddenly asked.
Serenity looked at Jackson in surprise. She did not expect him to propose that.
Granny seemed to be surprised as well. She smiled and said, “That’s very kind of you, but I’m used to staying here. Besides, I have children of my own, so if I let my granddaughter take care of me instead, people will gossip. When I feel better, I’ll go visit you two in Solaria.”
Granny turned to Serenity and said, “You better go now or you’ll get back home really
Serenity nodded. “I’ll come again, Granny.”
After saying goodbye to Granny, Serenity and Jackson got into the car and drove away. From the rearview mirror, Serenity saw Granny watching their car leave. She could not help feeling a little teary again.
She felt like her grandmother had aged a lot compared to the last time she saw her. It seemed that, although Granny had recovered from the illness, it had taken a huge toll on her body.
Because of her age, she would probably need a long time to become healthy again.
“If you’re worried about your grandmother, I can replace a way to get her to Solaria,” said Jackson.
Serenity shook her head. “There’s no need for that. She’ll probably recover faster if she recuperates at home.” Although her uncles and aunt were not particularly filial, they all had something in common….
and that was their pridefulness. In this town, everybody knew each other. If they did not take good care of Granny, they would be labeled as unfilial by the townsfolk
Serenity also noticed that Granny’s clothes, bedding and room looked clean. That meant they were at least taking care of Granny properly.
“Thank you for today,” said Serenity.
“For what?” Jackson asked with raised eyebrows, “For driving you here?”
“For being so accommodating of those relatives of mine,” replied Serenity. Otherwise, her Grandpa’s bad attitude and her aunt and cousin’s snide remarks would have landed them in big trouble.
“I wouldn’t say I was accommodating. I simply pretended that they didn’t exist,” said Jackson. He was there to keep her company. He couldn’t care less about those people. “But aren’t you mad at them for talking to you like that?”
“Sometimes, but it doesn’t bother me anymore,” said Serendly, “I told myself, even though they’re my relatives, I don’t have to care about what they think or say. It’s not like I live with them. I only see then a few times a year,”
Maybe it’s because she had been through a lot, she understood that, even if she tried hard to please others, the people who did
not like her would still dislike her.
Therefore, she should only care about the people who truly cared about her. As for other people, they’re not worth her time.
Jackson sneaked a glance at Serenity. She sat there quietly with a calm expression on her face as if she had gained an understanding of certain things in life.
