Once Rejected, Thrice Accepted -
Chapter 14
"We have about half the pack here." Duncan helped me onto the stage where Leo and Lucas were waiting. Asshats tripped Duncan so they could get here first. "The others are either sleeping, kids, or guarding some part of the pack. Is that ok?"
I went to respond and hug him but noticed all the eyes staring at us. Shit. Not gonna work out. Nope, too many people. I did a slow gaze across the crowd realizing that if this was half the pack at pushing over 3,000 people I was glad we didn't plan anything or else we would have had way more eyes on us. I turned away from the crowd as I fought my impulse to run and hide. 'You need to grab my arm and keep me in place! I linked Duncan. His mouth was moving but all I was hearing was a loud buzzing noise. 'I don't ...crowds.....can't...
Duncan yanked me forward into his arms, pushing my face into his neck. 'F**k. I should have thought of this. I will do better I promise!
I didn't reply. I was focused on slowing down my heart rate down and getting rid of that damn annoying buzzing sound. Moonlight was purring doing her best to help calm me. We both knew if this man didn't have me in his arms id be running clear off the pack lands.
'You are safe, my love. Focus on our scents and listen to our hearts that beat for you.' Duncan linked. I felt more arms around me and knew it was the twins. 'We will get it done fast and let the pack party while we handle business. We won't leave your side for any reason.'
I nodded, kissed his neck, and stepped back. I leaned toward Lucas wanting a kiss but waited for him to make the move. I didn't know if they wanted to the pack to know about us which added some hurt to my burning pile of raging emotions.
He didn't even hesitate before kissing me softly before demanding more. He was ripped from my lips as Leo turned my head to him and gave me the same treatment. I heard the pack start getting louder. Time to face the music.
We walked back to the front of the stage. Leo held his hand up for everyone to get quiet. Leo and Lucas were on each side of us with Duncan covering my back. All three were within touching distance, which they were taking advantage of.
"Twin Moon Pack thank you for rushing here and giving us your time." Leo shouted smiling at everyone. The whole pack smiled back showing me again how good of leaders the twins were. "We have someone who would like to join our pack and has earned that right. She is Draco's sister from his previous pack, Bloodlust Growlers."
Everyone started yelling and growling. I heard a few traitors to our kind shouted and another few were questioning if I was trustworthy. The rest were yelling that Draco didn't have a sister. I looked and found him standing at the stairs to the stage glaring at the crowd.
"Oh shut the hell up. You nosy asshats only need to know the cliff notes unless one of you want's to challenge one of the Alphas and have to fight to the death?" Duncan pulled me close gripping my arms tight. I knew it would leave a mark but he wasn't doing it on purpose. I knew he was doing it to keep from fighting.
Everyone shut up. They still had a look on their face like a pile of shit was under their nose but at least they weren't complaining anymore. Leo and Lucas looked pissed. I grabbed both their arms and shook my head no. I didn't any blood shed on my account when I was already bringing trouble to this pack's doorstep.
"Ok, lets do this. Gemma comes to us from a pack that mistreated her. Draco didn't know he had a sister. He hadn't seen his family in 19 years, which we all know, and he saved her." Leo explained the fast version, which I was thankful for.
"She is also our fated mate. All three of us." Lucas looked ready to shift and kill as he spoke. No one made a sound. "Duncan and Gemma have already marked each other so he is off the market."
Duncan looked straight at the group of girls standing to the side glaring and crying. They included the older sister who thought she would end up with my Duncan. I made sure to give her a big smile and wave. She acted like I didn't exist but I saw her rage shine through.
"First you have to reject your old pack." Duncan stepped back. "Do so now so the Alphas can accept you into ours."
"I hereby break my bond and loyalty to the Blood Lust Growlers. I have no tie to them and will never return to their pack lands. I cut all ties to any and all family there." Pain radiated from the center of my chest before feeling a ripping sensation sent all the pain packing along with leaving a feeling of being empty. Shit.
'It won't last long. Face the twins and get the speaking part done so we can make you all better.' Duncan linked turning me toward Leo.
Lucas and Leo stepped together with Leo holding a knife, the knife that would cut both our hands and unite me to this pack. Duncan rubbed my back and sent sweet nothings into my ear.
"Gemma, do you wish to join our pack, protect our pack, help grow our pack, and respect each of us?" Lucas asked holding his hand out.
I put my hand in his. "I, Gemma, wish to join this pack, protect it, nurture it, and respect all its members. I wish to become with this pack and its ancestors."
Leo used the knife to cut his hand before handing it to Lucas to cut mine. He wrapped his hand around mine and pressed hard. I felt a stab before something locking in place. The voices overwhelmed me but Moonlight was able to block our mind off. "Welcome to the pack baby!" Leo kissed me on the check and had the biggest smile on his face. When he smiled it made me give him one in return no matter what. He just had that joyful energy.
"Thank you for coming. There is some food and drink in the dining hall. We will plan a party within the next few days." Lucas pointed to the open doors of the pack house before turning back to us.
"Thank you." I hugged each one of them hard. "Thank you for accepting me and being by my side."
We talked for a few more minutes waiting for some more of the pack to disperse. I didn't want any more confrontation and I knew avoiding all of the negative shit talk would keep the guys from breaking another wolves face. Really the pack should thank me for being so considerate even after them not accepting me right away.
Draco and Ally checked in with us. They offered to go with us to the dungeon, but I knew Ally needed rest. She only had about three weeks left before pushing that watermelon out of her v****a, so rest was needed at all times. When I explained it like that to her after listening to her arguing about staying with us she laughed so hard the baby kicked. They listened after that and headed home. The guys linked ahead to the guards and let them know we were on our way. They mentioned it needed a bit of cleaning before bringing down the Luna. Ok?
I knew the rogues wouldn't have good news. They would mention something about it being my mother, brother, or hell even the Luna. I knew so many secrets from all the hiding I had done to stay safe even for an hour. That whole pack was full of traitors. Every family would sell out the other if it meant they would get more power or money. It was pathetic. My mother mentioned that was normal for a pack but I knew it wasn't. Our wolves needed family, love, company, and safety. That didn't include watching your own back around your pack.
I just had to hope this pack acted the right way or else i wouldn't last long.
