Chapter 338

"What did you say?" Cynthia's face darkened slightly as well. She could sense Jonathan's hostility towards Simon, but this unreasonable hostility made Cynthia feel a bit baffled.

Jonathan noticed Cynthia's change in expression, and he let out a small sigh. Simon had openly admitted his feelings for Cynthia. As a man, Jonathan could perceive Simon's ambition and aggressiveness. However, he didn't quite understand and thought, 'If Simon likes her, why doesn't he make a movement, or even try? Their bond as fellow disciples shouldn't be any less than Filip's childhood friendship with her.

But it's perplexing that such an aggressive man doesn't take any action. Additionally, he claimed that his feelings would never be revealed to Cynthia. It's not logical.

Jonathan felt that Simon was shackled to heavy burdens. He was trapped by something and couldn't express his true feelings. Of course, if Simon didn't want to discuss it, Jonathan had no intention of being the busybody to break the silence.

"It's nothing. I just want to tell you, in the future, if you have any problems you can't solve, think of me first, okay?" Jonathan's voice had completely softened as if filled with deep helplessness and compromise.

Cynthia had no clue about the emotional roller-coaster Jonathan was going through. She just smiled casually and playfully scratched Jonathan's chin. "Alright, I understand, my dear."

For the first time, Jonathan turned his head away. Cynthia's fingers froze. This was their playful routine. Over the past three years, she'd often scratched his chin, and even when he was upset, he would quickly be soothed. But today, something felt off. Cynthia pulled back her hand and settled back into her seat. Jonathan started the car and smoothly merged back into traffic.

Jonathan didn't mind Cynthia's gestures. In fact, he used to enjoy being teased and indulged. But suddenly, Jonathan realized that even though they were officially married with the license. Cynthia's attitude hadn't changed.

Jonathan always felt that Cynthia still considered him as the pretty boy. She never asked for his help and got jealous, which was fine, maybe that was just her way. But today, seeing her different side with Simon, Jonathan admitted that he was jealous. Jonathan didn't return to the Bennett manor. Instead, he went to one of his garden villas. The car quickly came to a stop in the yard.

Cynthia rolled down the window and stuck her head out. "Is this also your house?" she asked with excitement.

Jonathan nodded and then got out of the car. Cynthia followed him. The villa wasn't large, but it was in a great spot. The road was private, and tall trees surrounded it. Cynthia wondered if there were even any other villas in the area.

Cynthia chuckled, "You are Mr. Bennett in Betrico with lots of villas. This hidden spot is perfect for keeping a secret lover." Jonathan's steps seemed to pause for a moment, and his posture was slightly stiff. They entered the room one after another. Jonathan casually tossed his coat onto the cabinet by the entrance.

Cynthia continued to look around curiously. "Jonathan, how many places like this do you have? Be honest, have you ever had any young starlets or models hidden away?"

Jonathan finally halted his steps. His chest rose and fell slightly, but he didn't turn around, as if holding something back. Cynthia circled and stopped in front of Jonathan, She gently hooked his tie and asked, "Compared to them, who's prettier?"

Jonathan looked down at the woman so close to him, unable to suppress his anger any longer. He grabbed Cynthia's waist and pressed her onto the living room sofa.

A quick and intense kiss landed, mixed with his anger and the jealousy he couldn't hold back, like a flood raging out of

control.

Cynthia looked at him, seeing how upset he was, but a slight smile appeared at the corner of her lips. A glint of triumph seemed to flash in her eyes.

Today, Cynthia was unusually cooperative. The two were kissing passionately, stumbling from the living room, up the stairs, through the hallway, and finally into the bedroom.

Two hours later, the sound of running water came from the bathroom. Cynthia lay on the bed, utterly exhausted. She regretted stirring up trouble now; it was certainly her own doing.

After a while, Jonathan emerged wearing a gray bathrobe, which hung open to show his fit abs. Normally, Cynthia would have taken the chance to touch. But today, she just glanced at him and turned away, looking completely defeated.

Jonathan felt a bit of regret too. He had been reckless today, maybe a bit too intense. He sat on the edge of the bed, leaned down, and gently kissed Cynthia's hair. He said with a soft voice, "Need to carry you to the shower?"

Cynthia rolled over and looked at Jonathan. "Are you still angry?" Jonathan knew it too. Cynthia said those words just to deliberately provoke him. Then, this was her way to calm him down.

Now he thought about it, most of the frustration in Jonathan's heart had already disappeared. Especially since she was so proactive today. The enchanting look of Cynthia floated into his mind again. Thinking about it now, he still felt a warm flutter in his chest. Jonathan's Adam's apple rolled slightly. "I just want you to know, I'm your husband, not a pet you're keeping."

Cynthia let out a helpless laugh. "When did I ever treat you like a pet?"

"And you haven't treated me like your husband either?" Jonathan said.

"Why not? My heart is filled with you. Do you want me to dig it out to prove it?" Cynthia said.

Jonathan stopped talking. "Alright..."

Cynthia noticed his secretly pleased yet restrained expression. It was genuinely amusing. She thought, Jonathan usually has a cool and composed demeanor, but sometimes he is just like a kid.

"Really?" Jonathan asked.

Cynthia's expression turned serious. "Of course. You're my best lover in the world, I promise." She raised her hand like she was taking an oath.

Only then did Jonathan finally let out a sigh of relief. The last bit of bitterness in his heart faded away. He leaned down to kiss Cynthia's rosy lips, trailing to her ear. "I've never kept any models or celebrities, I only love you." Cynthia gave a small smile, "I know..." She had said those things just to provoke him, hoping he'd let out all his pent-up

anger.

Jonathan leaned in close to Cynthia's ear after kissing her for a while, "My first time was with you, too. You're the first and only woman in my life..." SEND GIFT
