Chapter 1270

Chapter 1270

Slap...

With a poker face, Catelyn slapped Edwin once again.

She could never forget the desperation when the nurse held a dead baby and told her that her daughter was gone.

She wished the dead one was her.

That kind of despair and agony could destroy one's faith.

When she had just lost her daughter, she couldn't sleep every night. The cries of the baby kept echoing in her head.

She had been tensed and suspecting everyone, including Cedrick and her father's political enemies in Fidelysia, but not Edwin.

Even when she went back to Sapphire City and saw Edwin holding Puffy, she only thought that he had betrayed Joanne and had a baby with another woman.

How could he do this? He was so cruel.

"Edwin, I won't forgive you. Give Puffy back to me. I'll take her away."

She no longer believed a single word from Edwin.

The person who stole her child turned out to be someone so close to her.

The left side of Edwin's face swelled due to the slaps. He said with a frown, "Where are you going to take her to? The Mason Estate? The imposter clamors to leave the hospital. No one knows what will happen next. Staying in the manor is the best choice for her, and Mr. Denham won't replace out that she is your daughter."

Catelyn lost her temper and head. "I don't need your advice."

"Kitty, I..."

"Give her back to me."

Catelyn looked askance at him. The look in her eyes was unyielding.

Apparently, Catelyn no longer trusted him because he had crossed the line.

Edwin thought about it and came up with a plan. "I've never thought of keeping Puffy to myself. For the sake of their safety, you can keep the three children in the manor. I'll move out. You're mad at me and not Grandma. Let them stay here. Grandma will take care of them."

Catelyn rolled her eyes at Edwin but didn't object.

This was the best solution they could think of.

"Now I understand why Joanne left with Patrick. You don't deserve her! Even if you had to play a trick because someone intended to take her away, what about afterward? You had so many chances to tell me the truth. You're like a brother to me, and I've never doubted you. What did you do? Are you happy to see me holding Puffy while I can't

recognize her? You failed to get your happiness and would not see others happy?"

Catelyn shoulder-checked Edwin and rushed out to replace Puffy. Edwin was left standing there in a daze.

Expressionless, he looked like a lost soul. No one knew what he was thinking about.

When Catelyn went downstairs, her legs felt weak.

It turned out her daughter had been with her the whole time.

Puffy was Jennie.

She was such a cute girl.

Catelyn went to the nursery. The new nanny was changing diapers for Puffy.

Lying naked on the bed, she neither cried nor fussed.

Puckering her lips, she curiously looked at the world with her dark eyes.

Catelyn's heart melted when she saw that.
