Chapter 1474

The photo slid to Joanne's feet.

In the photo, Joanne was being forced by the security guards to sign the divorce papers. When Joanne looked down and saw the photo, her face turned pale.

Edwin noticed the expression on Joanne's face. He felt depressed but a little happy.

'Since she cares about it, she still has feelings for me.'

"I didn't know you were forced to sign the divorce papers. I had a car accident and was sent to the hospital. When I woke up, I learned that you had gone with Patrick. I only got the divorce papers."

"You had a car accident?" Joanne didn't believe him. She tried to suppress her anger and asked, "Did I offend you? Why did you come to me and make up these lies?"

"You think I'm lying to you?"

Edwin was frustrated when he learned that Joanne had such a deep misunderstanding about him.

"You believe that I cheated on you and humiliated your family, so you divorced me. It was reasonable."

Edwin narrowed his eyes and retorted, "Why should I lie to you with my current status? Although I was angry with you and Patrick, I didn't want to divorce you. My father wanted me to marry another woman, so he stirred things up."

Joanne was dumbfounded. Her brain went blank. 'If Edwin didn't want to divorce me, who arranged for the killers to murder me?' She was silent.

"Do you want me to show my hospitalization record to prove it?"

"Your father was right. We're not from the same world. It's all in the past. I don't want to talk about it anymore."

Edwin caught Joanne's flustered look. "Now that I'm here, I'm not going back without you."

Joanne looked up at him. "You don't mind that I slept with Patrick?"

Edwin showed an angry look at the bottom of his eyes. No man could stand being cheated on by his wife.

He'd been trying to avoid it. He didn't want to bring it up.

'Did she have to reopen the old wounds to drive me away?'

Edwin didn't say anything. He turned and took out an exquisite box.

The box was large. He carried it with both hands and walked over to Joanne.

"I care more about our future. Please accept my apologies."

Since Edwin didn't answer her, Joanne guessed that Edwin believed that she had cheated on him with Patrick, although it wasn't true. Even if it was not Edwin who tried to kill Joanne, she would never forget it, which would cast a shadow over their relationship forever.

So, Joanne would rather just live her life with Tail.

She didn't look at the box and said coldly, "I've said all I have to say. If you don't leave, I'll leave."

Edwin was enraged. He yanked her wrist from behind." Joanne, since the moment you entered my life nine years ago, you've not been allowed to leave me." Joanne shook his hand off fiercely.

"If you minded my cheating on you, why did you come to me to embarrass yourself?"

Edwin's eyes were dark, and Joanne had a stubborn look on her face.

"1 don't care about it! Joanne, I don't care about the past. You can never leave me again. Well be together until we die! " Edwin said through gritted teeth.

He forced the box into Joanne's hand and then turned to leave.

Joanne stood there in a daze.

She opened the box and found it was the dress that she and Sharon had fought over at the mall.

The dress looked perfect, without a single wrinkle. The diamonds were sparkling in the sunlight.
