Chapter 1564

Chapter 1564

Edwin froze. He narrowed his eyes and raised his eyebrows, a wicked smile at the corner of his mouth. "Why are you so needy all of a sudden?"

Realizing that Edwin got the wrong idea, Joanne said in embarrassment, "Why are you taking off your pants? I'm asking for your jacket."

The sound of the belt buckle popping open was particularly clear in the quiet car.

Edwin answered, "You told me to take off my clothes. I usually take off my pants first."

Joanne knew Edwin was deliberately teasing her. She rolled her eyes at him and said, "Tail won't like your pants. They're stinky."

Edwin then realized that Joanne wanted to put his jacket over Tail's body. It was late at night. Even with the heat in the car, Tail might easily catch a cold.

Edwin hurriedly took the opportunity to familiarize Tail with his smell and immediately covered his jacket over Tail.

Tail seemed to sense the smell she didn't like in her sleep, and she grumbled a little, but she didn't open her eyes. She soon got back to sleep. After a while, the car arrived at East Imperial.

Joanne held Tail in her arms the whole time. Edwin couldn't take the little girl over. He walked ahead to lead the way and pressed the elevator button.

Jadyn had received a notice from Edwin that they would come back late, so she waited at the door in advance.

When the elevator arrived, the maids were standing respectfully at the door. They were confused when they saw Joanne carrying a little girl in her arms. Then they realized it should be Miss Atherton. Jady walked up to them and greeted, "Mr. and Mrs. Atherton, you have finally brought Miss Atherton back."

Joanne was not happy with Edwin, but she had no problems with the maids. She gave Jadyn a faint smile and responded, "Jadyn."

Jadyn beamed with joy.

As they walked into the foyer, Edwin took a pair of women's slippers from the shoe closet and placed them at Joanne's feet.

Joanne glanced at the shoe closet and noticed that the maid had already prepared cotton slippers.

Joanne was holding Tail in her arms, so she couldn't bend down to change her shoes. Jadyn immediately held her arm when Edwin knelt on the floor, took off her sneakers, and put on the slippers for her. Joanne felt embarrassed. Her toes twitched. Her toenails looked exquisite in the light.

"Stand still. Don't fall." Edwin warned her.

Joanne's body tensed up. She forgot her embarrassment and let Edwin change her slippers.

Tail was asleep in Joanne's arms. She didn't need to change her shoes.

Edwin led Joanne to Tail's bedroom. The bed in the room was extremely narrow. It was a single bed for a child.

Joanne wondered if Edwin had arranged it on purpose.

But the bed had flaps all around to prevent Tail from falling off the bed at night. The flaps could be raised and lowered. When Tail woke up in the morning, she could lower the flaps and get out of bed.
