Our Luna, Our Mate Chapter Athena's POV

After what felt like hours of sitting within an office, everyone who was currently present within had finally decided on heading down for breakfast. As it was now 8 in the morning and those who were hungry were now on their way towards the dining area. "This makes me so excited my dear. There's so much to plan now. Between the Luna Ceremony, Alpha Ceremony, Bachelorette Party, and of course Baby Shower, we'll be busy for a while" beams Luna Gwen as they eventually reach the dining area. "Do you really think so?" I ask her, not really knowing all the prep that went into planning all these kinds of events, especially ones such as these. But hopefully something I would hope to learn as my duties as future Luna slowly kicked in.

"Of course I do, trust me. I've been doing this for a very long time" smiles Gwen, making me

realize again that I knew next to nothing about the roles of a Luna.

"Don't worry though, these are things you'll eventually learn as you step into your role as the new Luna. Don't feel like you need to compare yourself to me in order to be a good Luna. A good Luna

is someone who puts others before themselves" explains Gwen just as we enter the dining room. Nodding, we moved to sit down at a table as breakfast was all being served for today it was eggs, bacon, sausage, has hash browns, pancakes, waffles, the whole nine yards as wolves were hungry creatures and we typically ate a lot especially after a workout.

"Thanks, And I couldn't think of anyone else better than those three. They along with Kai, Seth and Sam would make excellent additions. That way there included with their mates', explains Ares with a smile, his hand gently squeezing my leg before returning to his meal. Happy with my decision, I too moved to focus-back at the task at hand, breakfast as I now had a tiny little human growing deep within my belly. -Blood Rose Pack-

"Your Majesty. There's been an urgent matter that requires your attention" exclaims my Royal Beta, as he rushes into the room. Currently sitting at my desk I was trying to handle last minute paperwork before planning out the rest of my day. "What's the matter now?" I ask, curious as to what he had to say in regards to this urgent matter as I have been extremely swamped with Royal matters and Council duties that my Beta had to help me with other tasks such as emails and things of that sort as I did not have a Queen to help

me.

"We've received an email" explains my Beta, holding up the piece of paper he had printed off.

"Opposed to any other time? What makes this one so special that it requires my immediate attention and can not wait like all the others?" I question, not understanding his reasoning.

"It's from Alpha Alarick of the Mystic Shadow Pack, Sir" answers my Beta, causing me to arch an eye as I was close friends with Alarick, for he along with my other two brothers used to hang out all the time as children, me included. Then life happened and as we got older we all slowly drifted apart as we took on our roles as Alpha's.

"What's wrong with the Mystic Shadow Pack? Is everything okay?" I ask, slightly concerned as I didn't want another close friend of mine to perish. And by friend I meant my brother. Ryder. As he and his entire pack perished in the course of a day and all because of the Rogue King. For I had been away on Royal matters with the Council when the news finally reached me. To say the least, I was devastated. My brother and niece gone along with his mate and the entire pack.

My other brother, Rick, was also devastated by the news once he found out. Neither of us handled it well. To learn that our entire home, the Moon Valley Pack, had been wiped out in a matter of

seconds had us falling to our knees in sorrow. As no one apparently survived the attack or so we were told as no one had found anyone else alive that day.

... It's about-" stammers my Beta, trying to replace the right words, his eyes showing disbelief.

"It's...

"About what?" I snap, needing to know, my heart on the verge of jumping from my chest.

"It's about Athena, your niece" finishes my Beta, finally able to answer my long awaited question causing me to freeze in my seat.

Athena? She was alive? How? I was told she along with all of Moon Valley had perished. Growling, I can feel Elstan pushing to come forth, both of us angry at the fact we had been lied to for so long. Someone was definitely going to pay dearly for that once I found out who it was. Fumming, I move to stand from my chair, startling my Beta. "Sir?" he says in mild concern as I begin to storm from the room.

"Prepare a car, we're going to Mystic Shadow Pack! You can brief me on the rest of it along the way. I need to see Athena, NOW!" is all I say before exiting the room. I'm coming Athena and this time, no one shall take you from us ever again. Chapter Comments
