71

Third Person POV

It hadn't even been an hour since the males all left there mates to enjoy the baby shower as they all moved to play a friendly game of hoops. The group consisting of Ares, Eros, Kai, Seth, Sam, Isaac, Ashton, and Brayden. The guys breaking off into teams of four as Ares goes to get a basketball from the utlily closet which held many of their sporting equipment.

"You sure the girls are going to be okay with us not being there" asks Isaac a little concerned about Sophia as something wasn't sitting well with him the moment they parted ways.

"Of course, the girls are totally fine, after all Lucas, Emma and Emily are there and I completely trust my mate to protect them" replies Kai, knowing Lucas would have contacted him the moment something bad happened to them.

"I'm not say that I don't trust Lucas, Kai, it's just I have this terrible feeling sitting in the bottom of my stomach and no matter which way I go, the feeling only gets stronger the longer I'm away from Sophia" remarks Isaac to the Beta, not wanting it to sound like he didn't trust the other Beta but when it came down to his mate he learnt long ago to trust his gut for the last time he didn't it nearly cost him Sophia.

Just then Ares returns with a ball only to see everyone's stoked faces. "Is everything okay?" asks Ares, now concerned for the others within the group.

"Isaac here thinks that something bad is about to happen even though I told him that Lucas, Emma and Emily were each with the Luna and the other girls" remarks Kai as he looks to his fellow Alpha, unsure of how else to explain it to him.

"Hmm, and when did this start happening?" questions Ares as he looks to Isaac.

"The moment we got here, I told Kai that it's nothing against Lucas or the others but when I start getting this terrible feeling within the pit of my stomach it usually means something terrible is about to happen, and I learned a while back not to take it for granted as it nearly cost me Sophia, a story for another day I suppose but let's just say the last time I ignored it, I nearly lost her" replies Isaac with a somber expression the feeling growing.

Frowning, at the words does Eros move to speak up when suddenly they hear it, the sound of a low howl filling the air, like a warning which makes Ares and Eros turn to look in the direction they had come from.

"SHIT! ATHENA! NO!" yells Ares as he moves to throw the ball aside as he and the others all move to run back towards the baby shower, mentally cursing themselves for leaying it unattended.

Chapter 71:

'Please, Please be okay' pleads Ares as they all run back to where the party was being held.

'Athena' cries Eros hoping his mate was okay. The others each thinking similar things as they all continue to run, each hoping that it was all a fluke and everything would be fine upon their arrival.

Although, when finally returning back towards the baby shower, everyone in general moves to skid to a halt for there before everyone was utter chaos Tables all knocked over while decorations and food had been scattered. Presents also skewed along the ground while some where trampled on but not to the point where it couldn't be saved, the packaging sturdy enough to protect the item inside. All while eyes searched the area, the guys eventually replaceing Emma, Emily, Lucas along with Gwen, Maya, Elise, Sophia and Cara all laying unconscious along the ground minus one, Athena, who was now nowhere to be seen among the mess.

"ATHENA?" calls Ares, now worried for his pregnant mate, his nose trying to scent the area only to growl at what he smelled among the pack grounds.

"What is it Ares?" asks Seth, catching his Alphas growl as he moves to look around the area once again, eyes landin

on the smoke can as his foot moves to kick it away from the girls. "Wolfsbane, along with knock out gas" growls Ares causing those present to growl as well.

"But how? Who could have possibly done it?" asks Ashton, moving to check on his mate who currently layed on the ground unconscious.

"Rogues" answers Ares with a growl, the scent of rotten eggs and everything else rotten hitting his nose as he moves to surve

no clear direction as to where they went, he would not be able to track her until Athena woke up,

but by then it could already be too late.

"Are you sure?" asks Sam this time, causing Ares to growl again as he moves to throw the punch directly at his Delta who doesn't dodge, taking the full swing of his Alpha as he stumbles, the punch catching him slightly off guard as he did.

"WHOA, Easy there Ares... No need to get physical. He only asked you a simple question" replies Brayden, moving to stand between him and his Delta knowing that if Ares wanted a fight, then he'd be more than happy to provide him one as a dragon was heck of alot stronger than a mere m one as a dragon was heck of alot stronger than a mere

Growling again, Ares decides to go check on his mother and Maya, Eros moving to inspect the area incase he had missed something during his initial glance over, while Kai, Seth and now a

Upon entering the pack house, Ares and Eros move to lead everyone towards a guest room, a room in which the other could rest in until the wolfsburg and knockout gas could wear off allowing them to finally awaken for knockout gas depending on how strong it was could last for hours while wolfsbane was used as a substance to help control werewolf activity and to prevent another from summoning their wolf, a true testament as Athena had once told them that her Uncle and cousin had once injected her with Wolfsbane in order to keep her from using Artemis as they went about punishing her and or touching her without her consent, causing another low growl to emerge from Zeus who really wanted to rip out Beta Collin's and Beta Brian's balls right off but unfortunately both were currently going under trail as they spoke, Alexander having taken the matter into his own hands when he eventually found out how they treating his niece.

"Better him then us, for if it was us, they would either be dead or dickless' grumbles Zeus, causing Ares to chuckle dryly the thought having crossed his and Eros's mind a couple of times but knowing that Alexander was handling the trial left them feeling satisfyed for he had promised Athena justice and justice was what they were going to get.
