74

Ares and Eros POV

2 weeks, 2 fucking weeks and we had yet to replace our missing mate, our Lama. As it wild seem like no matter where we looked we always came up empty handed, and the only thing we ever got in return was sever pain that came from the mates betrayal. For some days it was mild like a kiss or touch here and there and others there were moments where Eros and I found ourselves wishing for death.

'Don't you dare say that... Mate is not cheating on us, she's being forced, there's a difference. Mate loves us' growls Zeus, always trying to be our voice of reason as Deimos barely spoke to Eros unless absolutely needing too, too weak to communicate since losing our mate.

'I know pal, I know.. It just hurts' I say back to him for having to feel that he feels when being violated in that manor only brought nothing but pain along our own bodies.

For the first time it happened it was when she disappeared, Eros and I had been with Ashton and the others after showing them to the guest rooms we had available to them in order to allow their mates to rest and heal as Kai, Seth and Sam had taken their mates back to the Beta, Gamma and Delta suites when it had finally hit us, a pain that started out slow as a tingling sensation to the lips until finally the pain exploded bringing us to our knees as the pain gripped at our chests, angry claw marks maring our skin from what we had be told was from the mates betrayal.

When being told about this, our first initial thought was that our mate was cheating on us and that was the only reasoning behind the betrayal but then we instantly regretted that notion when we remembered that she loved us and was carrying our pups and that cheating on us wasn't something that willingly crossed her mind and that was when it finally dawned on us that she was being forced into something that she didn't want and had no say in the matter.

Now here we were 2 weeks later and still no closer to replaceing her than when we started off, Elise and Isaac along with Sophia and Ashton helping where they could, using whatever resources that they had to help make the search go smoother only to hit dead ends in the end.

Erustrated, I all but scream, both from the pain and the need to know where our mate was, for the longer that she was gone the harder it became on us, our bodies unable to with stand the intense pain every single time.

"We have to hold on for her, imagine what she must be feeling while being all alone with possibly no one else except her thoughts, as I'm sure the Rogue King keeps her wolf heavily sedated with Wolfbane's to prevent her from helping our mate which also explains why we can't seem to contact her through the mate bond" remarks Eros as he moves to look at me.

"I know" I say with a sigh. "And as much as I hate to think the worst I know deep down she's probably just as scared and lonely as well."

Just then, there's a knock on our door, Eros and I having decided to stay confined to our room until our mates return as the pain often caused us to black out or we became too weak to move which was when we started staying inside the room, leaving Kai and the others to continue the search.

"Enter" we both call out, only to see that it was Kai who was standing at the door, an envelope held tightly within his hand.

"What's that" asks Eros as he moves to look at the white envelope within Kai's hand.

"It's a letter addressed to both of you" admits Kai as he moves to hand us the envelop, the envelop feeling a little heavy in our hands as Eros and I move to look at one another.

Deciding to just rip open the bandaid do I move to open the envelop only to freeze for there in the envelop was a picture, a few pictures actually and each of them were of our mate, laying naked all while being chained to a bed her body mared in red angry marks from what looked like claw marks as they graced along her thighs and upper arms never around her belly where the babies layed untouched.

Clenching a hand into fists I move to see if there was some kind of note only to see it neatly tucked away inside the envelope, Eros looking at the pictures as I move to read what was written. "How does it feel to want, but never have again? Take one final look mutts for soon she'll be all mine Ezra"

Feeling my rage finally boil over, I all but yell in rage, moving to slam my hand against my wooden desk having been sitting there when Kai walked in with the letter slamming it down once I read it, my mind spiraling out of control, the pictures of our scared mate laying naked before the camera enough to send Zeus into a jealous rage.

Ares?" calls Kai hestaitantly, afraid for those within the room.

"OUT! NOW" I shout, my eyes boarder line black as Zeus and I all but lose ourselves to the madness.

"NO! You and Zeus need to calm down, NOW" orders Kai his attention solely on me as Eros was too weak to shift because of Deimos.

Chapter 74

"NO!" I roar just as Zeus finally takes over, shifting into our wolf as he race from the room, bounding down stairs until we all but burst threw the frost door of the pack house before making a bee line towards the forest, the sudden urge to be there as if being drawn by some invisible force as I run, unsure of where I was going until finally I smelt it.

Taking another sniff again, I manage a purt, the scent now leading me in the direction of where I needed to go, the scent of warm vanilla and honey with a hire of lavender and caramel each one scent was one that originally drew both Eros and I in the first time around, my mouth watering at the scent, the need to replace it and claim it all but consuming me until finally, I see it, a small scared body lying on the forest floor cowering in a fetal position as she moves to bury her head between her arms as she cried.

Approaching the form, I move to run my snout all along her form, my mind not registering who it was that laid before me until the soft yet sweet angelic voice finally broke threw my clouded mind and snapping me from whatever trance me, and Zeus had been in when soft hands move to touch my fur.

"A-Ares..... chokes the voice, my eyes now moving to look at the person before me my breath hitching at who it was.

"Mate" I whisper, everything around us vanishing in an instant as Zeus moves to how within my head for here laying naked in all her glory was Our mate, Our Luna, Our heart, Our sole reason for living and breathing as I gently move to nuzzle her, her arms moving to wrap themselves around my neck as she cried.

"I'm sorry... So sorry... please don't hate me.... Please" come her soft sobs as she cried, Zeus mentally scolding me as we move to purr hoping our purr would help calm her down as my eyes search for any clue as to how she managed to escape.

'Shhh, easy love, your safe and it's going to be alright, Promise' I whisper softly to her through the bond, the connection slowly reforming once more once in the presence of our mate. Our true mate. The one given to us by the Goddess herself. Athena. Chapter Comments
