Chapter 85

Ares POV

The moment we had been thrown backwards was the moment we knew we had to act, for if we didn't then Ezra would be free to do as he pleased and that was something we couldn't risk nor afford to have, especially when our mate was the target of this mad man. 'ZEUS' I call to my wolf, Zeus taking control of our body as we move to hold firm against Ezra's attack his teeth bare as he moves to approach us once again my eyes briefly moving to that of Athena who was now surrounded by Arden and Elstan, Athena's Uncles as Elise and the others finish taking care of the other wolves who had been following Ezra.

Feeling Deimos fall back into line next to me we move to stand side by side, our wolves posed as we get ready to charge the Rogue King, 'Ready Eros?' I asked him through the link. 'Ready' was all I heard as we moved to charge, ready to end it once and for all as / and I moved to go head to head with our teeth and claws.

"You really should have given her up when you had the chance, boy" growls Ezra as he moves to swipe his claw over in my direction, Zeus dodging his claw before we move to bite at him, Ezra moving to dodge only to be bitten by Deimos.

"We'll never give her up, she's ours and no one else's and we'll be damned if some Rogue thinks he can just come waltzing in here like his shit don't stink and try to take her from us" growls Deimos his teeth still bare as he waits for the next opening window. Not liking his answer, Ezra moves to focus on Eros, his eyes glinting in rage as he moves to pounce. "I'll teach you not to talk down to those older than you boy" was all Eros could hear before being tackled to the ground as Ezra moved to bite him in the shoulder causing him to yelp out in pain.

"EROS" cries Athena, her eyes now frantically searching for something that she could finally use on the Rogue King, Ares now rushing to his brother's aid as he moves to tackle Ezra, having tackled him hard enough to dislodge him from Eros who all but stumbled as the other

two brawled for dominance over the other.

""Surrender!" I shout.

"Never!" yells Ezra.

With that said, do I move to pounce yet again, this time dodging one of Ezra's claws as I move to get right up under him, my jaw now wrapped around his neck while my teeth dug into his flesh as he tried to throw me off but couldn't.

"GET OFF ME!" howls Ezra as he tries to get me off him, Deimos seeing this as his chance as he moves to charge at us, pouncing onto his back as his own jaws bite into the back of his neck our eyes locking for a moment as if silently agreeing before finally we move to rip our jaws away, my jaws ripping out his jugular as Deimos moved to rip out skin, a pain filled cry ringing through the sky until finally Ezra slumps to the ground, blood now oozing from all around his neck as his eyes began to fade, his life now slipping through his fingers as I move to approach him yet again.

"Never will you be able to hurt those weaker than you, never shall you try and harm our mate and never shall you see the light of day ever again" was all I say as I move to snap his neck for good measure, my jaws having wrapped themselves around his already injured neck before delivering the last and final blow that was needed to end it once and for all.

Once I managed to snap his neck do I move to toss his now lifeless body down, my head leaning back as I move to give out one big final howl signaling to those all around us that the fight and war was now over and the Rogue King was now dead, Eros along with many others joining us in the howl as those who had fought diligently now celebrate in the victory.

'It's over, it's finally over' whispers Zeus, a warmth now spreading through me knowing that our mate was finally safe.

'Finally' I whisper back, my eyes now moving to search for that of our mate, her eyes now replaceing mine and that warmth spreads even

more.

Then before I could react, a pair of arms finally wrapped around my neck, hot tears soaking my fur as Athena sobs. "Oh thank god you're

alright, both of you, I was so worried and-and when Eros got hurt, I couldn't control the urges of wanting to help you" cries Athena, her tears falling all along her face as she cries into my fur, Eros slowly approaching her from behind as he purrs, nuzzling her softly as his wounds began to heal. 'Shhh, it's okay love, everythings going to be alright' whispers Eros to her threw the bond, his nose still nuzzling her as she slowly moves to hug him as well, my eyes now moving to look at those around us, bodies of dead wolves now littering the ground while others injured while the rest surrendered not wanting to face death as Warriors surround them.

"Alpha's what do we do with the rest of the Rogues" asks a Warrior, drawing my attention to those who were left, some scared while others hesitant.

"Bring them, we shall decide their fate shortly" I say to my Warrior, the Warrior nodding as he and the rest of them move to round up all

hile others that was left, others moving to collect dead bodies separating those who belonged to either our pack or to that of the Rogu who didn't fit into either side were placed with that packs group as they would go home and be buried there. Sighing, I move to look back towards our mate, having sensed her eyes as her eyes move to watch me. "Sweetheart?" I start, curious as to what was on her mind.

"Don't kill them, they're just scared, they were forced into fighting a war that they wanted nothing to do with" remarks Athena, her eyes pleading as she moves to look at those still standing.

"But... They attacked without cause Athena, surely you can't ask me to spare them" I say, a bit shocked that she would even ask that of

1. me.

"I am," sighs Athena before moving to speak again. "Look I know there Rogues but you don't know them like I do, I spent 2 weeks with them while I was raped and tortured by their leader, the very one who forced them into fighting." "That was different, that was then this is now" I admit hoping she would understand.

"But it's not, All wolves have a choice and these wolves did not, even when I escaped, there was one lone Rogue who went against all odds just to help save me, she risked her life for mine just so I could come back home to you knowing fully well that if she was caught she would be dead" remarks Athena her tears now gone as she moves to look at those behind us.

"I know I'm asking for a lot but all I'm asking is for you to give them a chance, a chance to choose for themselves, without another Alpha making that decision for them" finishes Athena, her eyes now back to looking at mine.

Hesitating slowly, I knew I couldn't say no, my mate meant so much to me that everytime I thought of her my heart ached. "You know she's right, if we kill them now we'd be no different than Ezra, another Alpha who was taking away their rights, their choice, I mean just look at them brother, the Rogues standing before us are scared' replies Eros back to me, having been looking at the Rogues as well and knew just how right our mate was.

'I do know unfortunately,' I whisper back with a sigh, knowing both of them were right and if I killed them now I'd be no different than that of the Rogue King. 'Fine, I'll spare them but if they do something that I do not like then I'll kill them in an instant' comes my warning, my eyes now back on the group of wolves that stood before, hoping and praying to Mother Moon that I was making the right decision
