Owned By Her Triplet Bullies -
(Bk 2) Chapter 29
Mason's
POV
I went in and removed my jacket. She stood outside for a while before reluctantly walking in.
"Wait for me on the balcony," I said to her before picking up some clothes froir my closet and heading into the bathroom to freshen up. When I came out, she was already sitting outside quietly with her books laid in front of her. My phone chimed again. "Come to the place where we first met. You remember, right?" she wrote. I dropped my uniform on the laundry basket before walking to the balcony and taking a seat.
"Shall we start?" I asked her. She nodded.
"But, before that, Mady mentioned how I'm the orly one you've ever tutored. I heard the principal has always asked you to tutor students, but you. refused. Why was I an exception? Do you have a reason?" she asked curiously. Before I could respond, the door suddenly opened and a familiar scent wafted through my nostrils.
uThere's truly a real girl in here," Mum gasped.
"I told you, didn't 1? But you thought I was joking around again. Meet Lexi, my friend, and the girl Mason will tutor starting today," Mady introduced.
"What? He's tutoring someone without being forced to?" Mum asked in shock.
"That was exactly what I said," Mady responded. Lexi hurriedly stood up from her seat when she saw Mum and Mady approaching us.
"Good afternoon Luna. It's nice to meet you. I'm Lexi Jones," she introduced politely.
"How polite and beautiful," she replied in awe, making Lexi bow her head slightly. "Nice meeting you too, dear. Pardon our intrusion. We wanted to make sure you both were okay. Hope Mason isn't giving you a hard time?" "Mum," I sighed.
"Not at all Luna. He's been nothing but nice to me. He's the best tutor anyone could ask for, and Mady is a wonderful person. They are both lovely," she responded calmly. I raised a brow at her. The way she was speaking softly and gently, one would think she was as calm as chilled water. Aside from being rude, she was also two-faced, speaking nicely of me in front of my mum and doing the complete opposite when we were alone.
"That's great then. I'm glad they are treating you right, but did you just come to this pack? I've never seen you before," Mum said.
"Yes, Luna. I arrived recently," she replied. Mum nodded.
"Mady, we should leave now. We've interrupted them enough," Mum said as she grabbed Mady's hand.
"Where's Vivian? I haven't seen her since I arrived," I inquired. That little troublemaker would have barged into my room immediately after I came in, but she didn't, which meant she wasn't home.
"She went out with your fathers. She insisted she wanted to stat school next week because she wasn't ready yet," mum explained.
She smiled. "We will leave you both to it now. Study hard."
They both finally left, and Lexi took her seat. I started opening the math textbook quietly, none of us saying a word about what had just happened.
"Where would you like us to start from? Which topic do you replace the most difficult?" I asked.
"I replace every single thing in that book difficult. Could we perhaps start from the beginning?" she inqüired. I looked up from the textbook towards her. "From the very beginning?" I asked in surprise. How was that even possible? She nodded
"Would that be a problem?" she asked.
"No, let's begin," I replied. But I noticed we were sitting far apart and facing each other instead of sitting side by side. The way we were sitting, she wouldn't be able to see what I was writing in the notebook in front of me. I stood up and dragged my chair beside her. She looked up at me in surprise.
"Don't get the wrong idea. I'm only doing what's going to be convenient for you," I explained as I sat down, already knowing the sort of thoughts running through her mind. She shifted a bit from me uncomfortablv.
"I don't bite, so I don't get why you are uncomfortable. If you keep sitting that rigidly, your neck is going to get stiff before we even start, hindering you from learning anything," I said to her. It wasn't like she had never been close to a boy before, so why was she acting so uncomfortable?
I heard a knock on the door again. I sighed out of frustration. We won't be able to get anything done.
"Come in," I ordered. An omega came in with a tray full of snacks.
"The Luna was worried you both were studying on an empty stomach so she asked me to bring this," she said, carefully dropping it on the table.
"Thank you," Lexi said gratefully. She surprised me for the second time.
Did those words really come from her mouth? She knew how to be grateful. The omega nodded and left.
"Let's begin," I said with the intent that, hopefully, there would be no more interruptions. I took out my pen and wrote some equations down on a notebook spread out in front of me.
"Can you try these?" I asked her.
"It looks so complex. I don't even know where to start from," she said honestly with her brows furrowed.
"It's not complex. It will get easier with time. Let's start with the rules.
That's the first and most basic thing you need to learn. Without it, you will definitely replace it difficult," I explained, scribbling down all the rules in my
notebook.
"You wrote all that down without looking at the textbook even once?" she asked in surprise.
"Yes. Is there something wrong?" I replied. She shook her head negatively.
I explained the concepts, breaking them into simpler terms. I explained as we ate, and she listened attentively.
"Did you understand that?" I asked. I needed to be sure before I could proceed.
"Yes. It wasn't as difficult as I had thought," she replied.
"Of course, it isn't. These are only the rules. We haven't used them in solving these equations yet," I responded. I glanced at my phone which kept vibrating on the table. Rachel had been calling me for hours, but I didn't respond. The sun had set, and it was freezing. No way was she going to stay in the cold for so long when I never promised to show up, right? The first place we met was outdoors in the children's playground when our parents brought us out.
Back then, Mady and I had fought over something that sounded silly. I was moody and refused to talk to anyone, but she had somehow intrigued me with her dance. She was a ballet dancer and from then; we became inseparable.
Rachel couldn't stay in the cold for long because of her leg, but she was as stubborn as a mule, which was the reason I spoke to her. She was persistent and wouldn't stop until I spoke. Since she had said it herself that she won't budge until I come then I'm sure she will do exactly as she said.
"Quick question. How long do you think a person can stay outside in this cold?" I asked
"About two hours, probably. Any more than that and they might freeze.
Even though the heater from your room is on, I can still feel the cold. Nobody will be outside for too long unless they are crazy," she replied.
"But she is crazy," I mumbled.
"What?" she asked.
"You should go home now since the cold is getting to you. We will continue some other time," I said as I stood up. I went to my closet and picked up my jacket.
"You can replace your way home, right?" I asked. She nodded.
"I don't need vou to drop me off," she replied.
Great then," I responded as I picked up my phone and headed out.
"Mason? Where are you going at this time? It's freezing outside," Mum said immediately after she saw me.
"I'm going to be out for a while," I answered.
"How about Lexi?" she inquired.
"She will be down shortly. I'm off," I replied as I opened the door. I realized it was late and really cold. I couldn't let her go home alone.
"Where are we going?" the driver asked.
"I'm going to be driving myself. I want you to drive Lexi home when she arrives. If she refuses, tell her it's an order you have to obey. Understood?" I asked.
"Yes," he replied. I took the car keys from him and got in. There were lots of other cars, so replaceing another car wouldn't be an issue.
I drove towards the pack as soon as I could. It's alread been four hours since she called me. I didn't hope to meet her waiting. I just wanted to be sure she wasn't and besides, the park would have closed up by now. It took me thirty minutes to arrive and when I did; the lights were still on. I headed in and went to the exact spot where we met. And there she was, sitting under the cold.
"She really waited." I mumbled to myself.
