Owned By Her Triplet Bullies
(Bk 2) Chapter 56

Mason's POV

I continued to arrange my luggage without responding to him. I heard muffled voices as they conversed.

"By all means, come in," I heard Torres saying loudly. The door of the room suddenly opened. I didn't need to turn around because I already knew who it was.

"She insisted she wanted to see you and forced her way in. This isn't my fault," Torres said.

"What was that stunt you all pulled earlier?" she asked angrily.

"What stunt?" I asked, focusing my attention on placing the folded clothes in the wardrobe carefully so it doesn't have any wrinkles.

"I didn't come here so you can play dumb with me. You all lied and fooled me into believing you would join me in the airplane only for you to come all by yourselves. Why did you do that? Did Mady put you up to it? I know she's the one always having a bad influence on..." "Be careful of whatever you say Rachel. Don't talk about my sister like that. Besides, it was my idea," I replied.

"If you should yell at anyone, it should be me. I own the airplane that we all boarded and we all decided you wouldn't be coming with us," Torres added.

"Not now Torres. I wish to speak with Mason alone," she replied.

"We both are sharing this room. If there's something you want to say, you will have to say it in front of him," I said, turning around to look at her.

"Excuse me?" she asked in shock.

"I don't get what the fuss is all about. I'm sure your mum would hire an airplane to bring you here all by yourself if you asked," Torres said leaning against the door.

"No one asked for your opinion. Can you just leave us alone?" she asked irately.

"You would have to do better than that if you want me to. Like he said, this is our room not yours. You don't get to order me around Rachel," he retorted.

"Are you really doing this to me Mason? What did I do so wrong? All I wanted was to talk to you in private but..," she started in a shaky voice but stopped abruptly and ran out of the room in tears brushing past him. She shut the door with a loud bang afterwards. "Well that was unexpected. All I wanted was to mess with her a little bit. I didn't know she was going to take it so seriously," he muttered.

"Just let her be. She will come around," I replied.

"She must really like you for her to act like that. Have you ever considered the fact that you are hurting her feelings? She mentioned to me that she came back because of you. I knew before she told me because it was quite obvious. Have you at least told her you don't feel the same way?" he asked. I had even lost count of how many times I explained that to her.

"Numerous times," I responded.

"And her behavior towards you still doesn't change. She's still as stubborn as ever. I would hate to be in your shoes man," he said. I finished arranging my clothes and decided to take a shower before going to bed. "Numerous times," I responded.

"How did you arrange your stuff so fast? When my mine is still locked away. Wow! Where did you learn to fold clothes so neatly?" he asked in awe. "You can compliment me all you want. I'm not doing yours," I replied bluntly.

He scoffed in disbelief. "I wasn't going to ask you to."

"You know you were," I replied, grabbing my towel and going into the bathroom. I took a shower before stepping out. I met Torres asleep on the bed. I glanced towards his suitcase that was wide open. I thought he was going to place them properly before he slept. I raised my hand to tap him but decided against it. To have fallen asleep so quickly, he must be very tired. He has worked hard these past few days so he could come along with us.

After getting dressed, I helped him with folding his clothes and arranging his shoes. It was late by the time I finished, but I wasn't feeling sleepy. I grabbed my shoes and quietly stepped out. The cool evening breeze brushed against my skin immediately I stepped out of the hotel doors. I stood on a pillar and watched the bright street lights and also listened to the sound of cars honking loudly.

"Having trouble with sleeping too?" I heard Lexi ask. I looked back and she was walking towards me. The wind tousled her hair slightly as she stopped beside me.

"Too? Are you having trouble sleeping?" I inquired. She nodded. I always had trouble sleeping on my first day in an environment I wasn't quite used to. I wondered if it was the same with her. I turned away from her as we both stared at the view. "Is it because it's a new environment?" I asked.

"I don't know. Is it?" she muttered. We stood in silence.

"What pack did you come from?" I asked curiously. I noticed she never spoke or mentioned anything about her pack. "Don't get me wrong. I have my reasons for asking, I realize you appeared in our lives all of a sudden. We know next to nothing about you." "Why? Are you scared I might be a ghost or worse a serial killer who's on the run?" she asked sarcastically. I ignored her sarcastic remark.

"That doesn't answer my question," I stated.

"What if I don't want to answer your question?" she asked.

"Why not? If you won't, you should have a valid reason," I replied.

"If I ask you a question, will you answer then?" she inquired.

"What question?" I replied.

"On the night of your parents' anniversary, why did you have a panic attack?" she asked. To be honest, out of everything she could have asked, I never expected that question. "Are you asking me that just to shut me up or you are genuinely curious?" I asked.

"I am curious. At first, I thought it was probably none of my business but after meeting your family, I realized it was weird. I was opportuned to meet your mum and she was very nice to me. I realized who Mady took after when I met her. You don't have just one father but three. Do you know what that means? You received triple of a father's love while growing up. Your fathers might appear strict but I could tell how much you all meant to them during the anniversary. You have such a beautiful family. You have no idea how many people would kill to have what you have," she said.

"That's what everyone else says," I muttered.

"What?" she inquired. She wasn't from this pack so she wouldn't know about what happened in the past. Although it was covered up, some of the people that were here when those incidents happened were still aware. But no one was allowed to bring it up. "I knew you wouldn't respond to me just like I didn't. It must be sensitive..."

"Have you thought to ask yourself this? While my fathers were making a speech on the anniversary day, all everyone did was fawn over the words and the love and attention it held but you all missed the most important detail," I said, cutting her off. She was bound to replace out anyway. It would be better if she heard it from me.

"Detail? What detail?" she asked, trying to recall.

"The wedding date," I said, giving her a hint.

"Wedding date," she muttered. I turned towards her and her eyes widened.

"That's right. Your mum made mention of how they were the best decision she made twelve years ago...but you and Mady are eighteen," she said looking confused.

"That's right. They got married twelve years ago. Before then, we were raised by my mum and dad alone," I explained.

"Dad? Which dad? Is it the one Mady mentioned?" she asked curiously.

"That isn't the point. They never knew we existed until after we were six years old. They believed mum had died in a car accident," I replied.

"Car accident? Why?" she asked me in shock.

"You asked why I had a panic attack? I was also surprised. That was the first time it ever happened. It must have had something to do with what I saw before the party," I muttered.

"What did you see?" she asked.

"My fathers have done some things they are not proud of, something I can't bring myself to utter. But, they are trying to stop me from making the same mistakes they did in the past. As you must already know, I'm the only son therefore the next Alpha in line. They've been pestering me about getting a mate. You wouldn't understand no matter how I explain it," I said.

"Try me," she replied.

"Since I was growing up, all I've ever heard was the fact that I had to replace my mate. I got so sick of hearing that, that I never wanted to replace my mate," I said, turning towards her. Her face fell. "But, I replace myself changing my mind everyday because of...you," I said honestly.
