Owned By Her Triplet Bullies -
(Bk 2) Chapter 59
Lexi's
POV
We all walked outside the hotel. I could see some of the students already standing outside while some were just arriving like we were. Including the boy that had offered Mady flowers. I didn't blame the boy for his bold approach. Mady's beauty had to pass by. We all stood in pairs outside. Rachel occasionally made small conversations but only Mady replied to her. I wasn't convinced about the type of person she was yet. "What are we waiting out here for?" I asked curiously. The last time I went on a trip was when I was still a kid.
"Usually, there's a teacher who addresses us before we start the activities for the trip," she explained. "What activities?" I inquired. She hummed thoughtfully.
"There are lots of activities. The last time we were here we went swimming, hiking and so many more. We were promised that we would go treasure hunting this time around," she explained excitedly. I nodded in response. I glanced around but couldn't replace Mason or Torres anywhere.
"She's here," Mady said. A woman in her mid 20s walked towards us and stood in front.
"Good morning students and welcome to the Bluemoon pack once again," she said cheerfully. They all cheered loudly.
"You already know the drill but for the sake of those who are new, I will be your teacher and guide for the rest of your stay here. This trip has been in existence for a very long time and you all aren't allowed to fight with each other. This trip is meant to strengthen our alliance with each other. I know you all must be getting bored. Let's skip to the fun part. The activity for today is..," she paused with a smile, watching everyone's anticipating expressions.
"I know you were promised last time that you would go treasure hunting but unfortunately, you can't," she deadpanned. They all let out a groan of disapproval.
"We have a good reason for doing that. The woods are being scanned right now before anyone goes in for your safety. Give a round of applause for the Alpha for a job well done in trying to ensure our safety," she said with a wide smile clapping her hands together. "Uncle Xander," Mady grumbled under her breath as they all reluctantly clapped.
"So for today, you all are free to do whatever you want. Take a stroll and go sightseeing but do not go out of the pack walls," she warned. They all agreed excitedly.
"Come on Lexi," Mady said, pulling me along.
"Where's Mason? I've been trying to call him but he isn't picking my calls," Rachel asked.
"He informed me he wasn't coming. Torres also," Mady replied.
"Why not?" Rachel asked with a frown.
"He said he doesn't feel like it," she responded. Rachel turned towards the other direction in a hurry. Mady held her back.
"Where are you going?" she asked.
"To mason. You know how he gets sick during and after a flight. That must be why he's still inside," she replied worriedly. Mason gets sick after a flight? I had no clue because when I saw him yesterday, he looked fine to me. "What are you going to do about it? Can your presence make him feel better? Just let him be for a while..."
"I'm sorry but I can't do that. He needs me," she cut Mady off, removing her hand from hers. She quickly started walking back to the hotel.
"Rachel, wait..."
"You both carry on without me. I will join you after I confirm he's alright," she responded without turning around. Mady sighed.
"I swear she's so stubborn. How come she doesn't ever listen to anyone?" she complained.
"But Mason appeared fine to me yesterday," I said. I was worried if what he told me about his family yesterday was the reason for his sudden sickness.
"That's how he is whenever he takes a flight. Don't worry, he will be okay by the end of the day. Rachel was just exaggerating," she explained. I nodded in response. If his sister said there was nothing to worry about, then I believe her. "Common, let me show you around," she said as we both headed towards the opposite direction of the hotel. She showed me around the popular malls where she did her shopping and restaurants with tasty food which she frequented. "Do you know there's a maze in here?" she asked.
"A maze?" I inquired, glancing at her. My curiosity piqued. She nodded.
"Not many people know about it. I had no idea either until I stumbled across it coincidentally while we were here last year," she replied.
"Wow! That sounds so interesting. I have never seen a maze before. I've only seen them in movies," I replied thrilled by the information. A real maze, I couldn't wait for her to show it to me.
"There is a maze constructed with huge flowers far over there. I've heard nobody ever goes in there. It's been abandoned for a while so I'm sure the flowers have gotten huge. I'm sure I know of it only because I stumbled across it. I also heard it's very complicated. Most people never found their way out until someone found them. It sometimes takes days," she explained.
If she intended to make me scared then she was failing at it woefully. My interest to go into that maze tripled to the point of impatience.
"Can you show it to me? I don't want to go sightseeing any longer," I pleaded
"Why would you want to see it?" she asked skeptically.
"To satisfy my curiosity. I'm finally hearing about a real life maze. What's the use of hearing about it if we aren't going to see it?" I asked. "Fine but we are only going to take a peek. After that, we are coming back right away," she said. I nodded with a smile in response. "This way," she said, walking ahead of me. I hurriedly followed after her.
"It was very quiet and had an eerie feeling. I regret going there," she said, sounding displeased.
"Are we there yet?" I asked, ignoring her remark.
She chuckled. "You are strange. Most people normally run away at the mention of this maze. I hope we don't get caught because it's off limits."
"You have nothing to worry about. Since people don't frequent here, we won't get caught," I assured her. We walked far past the hotel into a little pathway lined up by trees. As we went farther, it got darker because of the shade provided by the huge tall trees. People disappeared out of sight till I could only hear our footsteps. I immediately knew we were getting closer.
"I told you this place was scary. Aren't you feeling scared? Let's go back," Mady said.
"But we've already come this far. Are we going to walk all the way here for nothing?" I inquired, my voice filled with disappointment. She sighed and we continued walking. Soon enough, I was met with a magnificent sight in front of me. "Wow," I muttered under my breath.
"You've satisfied your curiosity right? Let's get going," she said.
"Let me take a closer look," I said walking towards it. It was so tall and huge that I wanted to touch its walls.
"Lexi, don't go in. Remember what I told you," she warned.
"I won't go in. I just want to touch its moss covered walls and feel it in my hands. That's all," I replied. Although all I wanted to do was to run in and explore it, I knew Mady wouldn't let me.
"We need to leave, right away," she insisted.
"So early?" I pouted.
"If you really like it that much, I will speak to my uncle about it and we'll see how we can get it fixed once again," she promised. I nodded as she turned around to leave. When I was sure she wasn't looking, I hurriedly walked towards the entrance and got in. How was I sure they would get it fixed on time? This might be the last opportunity I will ever get. I heard her calling out my name but I didn't respond.
It was a bit dark inside the maze but the light from my phone helped me out. I clicked a lot of pictures. The wild flowers were all so colorful and beautiful. The walls were a bright green color and it smelt like nature. I had a smile on my face as I took a tour around. After a while of having fun, I decided it was time I headed out. I started to walk towards the direction I came in but to my shock, I found myself in the same spot I stood a while ago.
After fourteen trials with the same results, my phone got switched off and the maze became dark once again. I immediately knew I was in deep trouble. Was I going to stay here in this maze all alone and nobody will know about my whereabouts? I didn't want to die cold, hungry and alone in a dark place.
"Mady, I'm in here!" I called out in a loud fearful voice.
