Owned By Her Triplet Bullies -
(Bk 2) Chapter 75
Mason's POV
While I was still talking to Lexi, she suddenly stopped walking. I halted in my steps and looked back at her and she looked shocked. Did my words shock her that much?
"What happened? Are you surprised?" I asked. My words shouldn't have shocked her to this extent. It was something I said most of the time. "Let's go back," she said hurriedly.
"Go back? But we haven't gotten the drink. The pharmacy is just down there," I replied pointing towards the brightly lit shop in front of us. What was going on with her?
"I don't want to go anymore. I want to return to the hotel," she responded. Although, the drink I had made me a little drunk, I didn't miss the panic in her eyes as she spoke. She was also starring somewhere. I followed the direction of her gaze and it stopped on a man. He was also coming out of the shop we were supposed to be in and he was on a phone call. He was of average height, with cropped brown short hair. I wasn't too vested on his features. All I wanted to know was why did his presence affect Lexi's mood so much? "Is he the reason why you want to leave?" I asked. She turned towards me in shock.
"W.what?..."
"Lexi?" the man called out in surprise.
"Oh no," she muttered gulping in panic. I could see the sweat lining her forehead.
"Hey, let me call you back in a minute," he said, hanging up the phone.
"Lexi? Is that really you?" he asked, walking towards us. She shifted closer to me uncomfortably. Could he be Nick?
"It's really you. Wow! What were the chances that I would meet you here of all places? Where have you been? You were away for so long.
Even your family.." he pestered her with questions till his gaze fell on me.
"Who's this? I've never seen him before," he muttered with a smile.
It's none of your business. Get lost and pretend you never saw me75: Meeting him
here," she spat bitterly. I watched their exchange quietly.
"How can I pretend I didn't see you when I did? Come on butter cap, we've come a long way for me to do that," he responded smiling widely Why was he smiling so much when it didn't even look real? It was obvious he was faking it. If this bastard in front of me was really the Nick who hurt Lexi, that smirk on his face wouldn't be there when I was done with him
"Don't call me that. Mason, let's go," she said angrily, taking hold of my hand.
"Don't be in a rush. Let me at least introduce myself to the young man.
Mason, right? I'm Nick. I'm sure you've heard about me? Lexi and 1 were too close for her not to have mentioned me. Am I right Lexi?" he asked, stretching his hand towards me. I stared at his hand but I didn't reciprocate the gesture. He retracted his hand awkwardly. "How do you know Lexi? She's been away for more than a year. Your family has been going crazy since your disappearance. Well, not all of them but your father has been looking for you. I wasn't expecting that at all. I should call him and inform him..." "Don't you dare! No need to deceive ourselves, we both know you don't give a f**k" she retorted furiously.
He chuckled. "You are right. I don't care at all. But aren't you being too salty? Are you still angry with me because of what happened in the past?"
"From the way he reacted, I can tell something is going on between you two. Are you going out with him? What sort of lies did you tell him for him to agree to date you? Did you cry and whine about how nobody loves you again?" he taunted. "Cry and whine? Was that how my problems sounded to you, a*****e?" she asked angrily but I could tell she was on the verge of tears with the way her voice sounded.
"Okay, that's enough," I said, stepping in.
"Bro, she's just trying to make you pity her. Don't fall for her tears.."
"I'm not your brother. I can never be related with someone like you," I responded, cutting him off. All I wanted to do right now was punch him repeatedly when I remembered how she treated Lexi. He was exactly the a*****e Lexi had portrayed him to be. He scoffed. "What did she tell you? Do you even know what I was to her?
Did she tell you what we were?"
"She did. You were the bastard who treated her badly when you both were together. An ex-boyfriend. It's good that she left an a*****e like you. I got to meet her because of that," I replied. 75: Meeting him
"What? Ex-boyfriend?" he inquired and bursted into laughter.
"Let's go Mason, please. I don't want to be here again," Lexi pleaded. I looked towards her and she was holding onto my hand and begging me desperately with her eyes. I nodded in response, ready to leave and ignore him because of her.
"How ignorant are you? We were way more than that. She's not as innocent as she makes you think she is. I can still remember all our escapades together in the bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and even the garden. Thinking back now, damn, you were wild.." Lcut him off with a hard punch to the face. Lexi screamed out in shock.
Her scream brought me back to my senses. I didn't know how it happened, all I knew was how he had disrespected Lexi and provoked me to this extent. He staggered back in shock.
"Did you just punch me? Because of this b***h?" he asked angrily. I clenched my fists tightly feeling a surge of adrenaline course through me. I lunged towards him again, throwing a wild swing in his direction.
"You are making a big mistake. She's not being honest with you. You are going to regret this...
"Mason, it's not worth it. Let it go," she pleaded, tugging at my
arm.
"I won't let it go! I'm going to kill him for daring to speak about you like that!" I growled angrily blinded by my rage.
"She's lying to you. She was my.."
"I don't want to hear it. Shut the f**k up!" I yelled as I punched him repeatedly. Each anger was driven by anger and frustration. His vulgar words had pushed me to the edge. My vision blurred with anger, and all I wanted was to make him pay for what he had done. People were watching us but I didn't stop. I grabbed him by the collar and raised him up. He was all bloodied and looked lifeless.
"Mason stop! You are going to end up killing him," Lexi screamed out.
Was that all she was concerned about? This scumbags life. Did she still care for him that much?
"Don't you ever dare speak to her like that ever again else no one would be able to save you from me,
"I threatened panting hard as I let go of
him. He slumped on the floor wheezing out blood. I shoved his legs out of the way and turned around. I could see a mixture of fear, shock and confusion in Lexi's eyes. I left without a word heading towards the hotel. "Mason? Are you sober." Mady started but I walked past her towards my room without a glance.
"What's wrong with him?" I heard her ask, 75: Meeting him
"I will speak to you later," Lexi replied, hurrying after me. I got into my room and shut the door with a bang. I walked towards the fridge and took out a bottle of water. "Why are you angry?" she asked coming in after me.
"You are here? I thought you were going to stay there and nurse him back to his health since you were so worried about me killing him," I replied, chugging the water down. "What? I didn't mean it like that.."
"What did you mean then? You might as well just tell me that you are still in love with him," I retorted irately. I was both angry and jealous about the effect he still had on her.
"You've got it all wrong. I wasn't worried about him. I was worried about you. I didn't want you to get hurt or a passerby recording you.
Most of all, I didn't want you to get into trouble because he's not worth it. How can you think that I still want to be with him after everything?" she explained tearfully. I hurriedly walked towards her.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to yell at you. I should never have thought of that," I apologized gently, wiping her tears away. I hated to see her cry and I swore to myself that I would never be the cause of her tears.
"I don't like the effect he has on you Lexi. You are with me now and I want you to stay focused on me. I don't want another man's thought or touch imprinted in your mind," I admitted honestly. He wasn't even worth being in her memories.
