Emma's POV

I hurriedly left Hailey alone with the boys. She was glaring at me with so much hatred that I thought she was going to strangle me to death right there. The teacher hasn't arrived yet, so the class was in a ruckus. "Emma," John calls out. I turn around towards his voice and sight him waving at me from his seat. I walked towards him and took a seat in front of him.

"What are you doing?" he asked, furrowing his brows immediately as I sat in front of him.

"I'm sitting?" I inquire back, confused.

He rolled his eyes at me. "I meant what are you doing with the triplets?" he asks, scrutinizing me with his eyes.

"I'm not doing anything," I reply, looking at him with confused eyes.

He sighed. "I saw you getting out of their car smiling and blushing," he deadpans.

"I wasn't...," I trail when I notice him giving me the I don't believe you look.

"Okay fine, they insisted I ride with them to school, no big deal," I reply with a shrug. He stares at me in disbelief.

"Don't look at me like that, it was just a harmless ride," I mumble, starting to get uncomfortable with the way he was looking at me.

"Harmless ride? Can you listen to yourself right now? I can't believe this," he mutters incredulously.

I fumble with my fingers.

"It's merely a harmless ride now next thing they reveal their true colors and stump on your heart all over again like they always do," he said staring at me unbelievably. "What happened to reject them? What happened to ignoring them and living your life?" he asked.

"I know I said that, I just....they all look so convincing," I mutter in a small voice.

"That's your problem, Emma, you are too kind. You tend to forgive and forget things easily. The triplets know that Hailey knows that, that's why they keep toying with your feelings and hurting you. Wake up Emma,"

"Have you forgotten all they've done to you so soon? All the pranks? All the heartbreak? Prom? Every time they are nice to you, there is always an underlying meaning. Don't you understand?" he explained.

It's not like I don't know all that he is referring to. I do. But the triplets keep getting to me. It's like they know my soft spot and they keep attacking that spot. Not to mention their deviously handsome looks and charming personalities. John is right. I'm too soft- hearted but thanks to John, I have been jolted awake from my fairy tale. He's right. The boys can never change, and they never will. I just have to try my best and ignore whatever tactics they come up with now. I was just deceiving myself, think ing they really changed, and they now truly want me.

"You are right. I should not let them mess with my head again. They can never change," I mutter bitterly.

John's expression softened, and he took both my hands in his.

"You know all I want is the best for you, right? I just don't want to see you get your heart broken again," he said softly, caressing my hands.

"I know, and I really don't know how to thank you enough for that. I'm truly very lucky and blessed to have someone like you in my life," I replied gratefully, stroking his hands with mine.

"Just be careful and don't make the mistake of falling into their trap ever again," he advised with a smile.

"I won't," I promised him and myself. What happened during prom will never repeat itself again.

Just then, the teacher walks in and everyone became quiet. I hurriedly went back to my seat and settled down. The teacher starts teaching, but the boys interrupt with Hailey walking into the classroom like they own the place. Well, they do own the place since their father is the Alpha.

I turn to look at them and my eyes met with the boys. They wink at me while Hailey glared at me. I ignore them all and focus on the teacher. They can go everywhere together for all I care. They deserve each other.

Class ended, and I hurried to get to the next one.

"Give us your backpack Emma, and we will escort you," Julian said as he suddenly walks in front of me and smiles at me. Right. Julian, the worst of them all. How could I ever think for a second that they sincerely and truly care for me? This must be one hell of a prank for them to put in this much effort.

I tried to maneuver my way out of the class with them standing right in front of me.

"What's wrong? Where are you trying to go?" Philip asked in a concerned tone, blocking me from reaching the exit door.

"To class," I simply reply, still trying to leave.

"That's why we said we would accompany you," Philip said with a smile.

"I don't need your company, I can get to class on my own like I always have," I hiss quietly, not wanting to draw any unnecessary attention to myself.

"Excuse me," I said, wedging myself in between a shocked Philip and Julian.

I walk to class with them hurriedly trailing after me. I ignore them, not bothering to turn back. They don't have the same class as mine, so they hover at the door for a while before finally leaving.

I completely forgot I took this class with Hailey.

"Look who we have here," I heard her voice say. Think of the devil and she appears right away.

"You think you can ignore me now because the boys paid you little attention?" she says, coming to stand in front of me angrily. When did I ignore her now? Can't she just leave me in peace? "Can't you speak up?" she yells at me.

"I...I'm sorry," I stutter anxiously. I don't even know what I'm apologizing for.

"You will be by the time I'm done with you," she threatens and sashays her hips towards her seat. I sigh and pray the day ends quickly, so I can get out of here.

Class ends and I run out of the classroom to avoid running into Hailey. I found John also coming out of his class, so I quickly join him, and we walk towards my locker together chattering and laughing. "Uhmm Emma?" he calls out to me uneasily.

"Yes?" I reply, trying to get my books into my locker.

"Why are people weirdly staring at you?" he asked uncertainly.

"People always stare at me weirdly. It's nothing new," I replied, still trying to organize my locker.

"Something seems different, turn around," he said anxiously. Why is he sounding so anxious? I turn around to meet everyone staring and pointing fingers at me, whispering furiously.

"Okay? This looks different. Why are they all staring at their phones?" I asked starting to panic a little bit.

"Let me check," John quickly brought out his phone and he looks surprised.

"Let me see," I said, reaching for his phone.

"You won't like this," he warns me.

"Do I ever like any of it," I reply, snatching the phone from his hands. What I saw, made me open my mouth in shock. I was all over the school website.

Emma is a girl who was abandoned by her parents to pay their debts. A girl who comes from a dishonest background. A lowly omega slave is mated to our future Alphas? No way! We can't let someone like that become Luna.

The phone fell from my hands immediately after I finished reading the article. Luckily, John catches the phone before it could crash on the floor. I guess he was kind of expecting that would happen.

"I told you, you would not like it," he said softly.

"At least I'm trending, right?" I mutter bitterly. I had just wanted to leave this pack in peace without every single person knowing about my background, but even that little hope of mine has been dashed now.

"How dare an omega slave thinks she can trick the Alpha's sons into liking her?" a student asked angrily.

"Are her parents really debtors and dishonest people?" another asked.

"How shameless!"

They continue to point fingers at me and whisper. One 'mistakenly' bumped into me and I fall on the floor.

They throw things at me and hurl insults at me. I raised my head to see Hailey smirking, looking completely satisfied.

"You think the triplets really like you?" she asked in a mocking tone. Soon enough, I saw the triplets laughing, talking, and walking towards me.

I should have known. This is all part of their plan with Hailey to humiliate me again.

They suddenly stop when they see the students circling someone. Their eyes widened in surprise. I got up immediately and ran out of the school. I heard them calling out to me to stop but I quicken my pace running from all the pain, sadness, and betrayal. Hot tears flowed down my cheeks.
