Pampered By My Mr. Lawyer (Benjamin and Madelyn) -
Chapter 258 Eloise, You Still Love Me
Chapter 258 Eloise, You Still Love Me
Their eyes met, but they didn't say a word.
Eloise didn't expect to run into Kenneth in the hospital.
This scene reminded her of the night when they had their first sex. It also took place in the hospital.
Kenneth was drunk back then. He pinned Eloise down on the sofa and took possession of her wildly.
Evidently, Kenneth also thought of the past.
He had been cautious and thought carefully before taking any action.
However, he didn't have time to consider the consequences of his relationship with Eloise. Being tempted by a girl that was sixteen years younger than him might be the craziest thing he had done in his life. It wasn't because she was young and good-looking.
Kenneth had met many beautiful women before, and some of them were more beautiful and charming than Eloise. Moreover, they were tactful and considerate.
They were not like Eloise, who hugged him and called him Uncle Ryan.
He was addicted to the way she addressed him.
After a long time, Kenneth broke the ice. "Did you come to see Everest?"
Eloise was dazed for a long time before coming back to her senses and nodding. "Yes. She's much better now and will leave the hospital tomorrow."
Kenneth was about to say something...
Kaleb came out of the elevator. He was surprised to see Eloise. He was an experienced professional and quickly regained his composure, greeting her with a faint smile, "Hello, Ms. Clark." Eloise nodded at him and said to Kenneth, "I gotta go."
Kenneth grabbed her hand and stopped her. "Wait a minute!"
Kaleb took a deep breath and turned his face away.
Eloise intended to shake Kenneth off, but Kenneth's grip was so forceful that she failed to break away from him.
Kenneth said in a subdued voice, "Let's have a talk."
In the end, they went to a quiet coffee shop. Kaleb got them a private room and guarded the door dutifully.
Eloise sat at the table in the private room.
Kenneth dismissed the waiter and made coffee for her.
He had always been waited on by others, but in private, he liked to make coffee and thus was good at it.
After he made the coffee, he put a cup in front of Eloise.
"Have a taste."
Eloise pressed her lips and said, "I don't like coffee."
Kenneth gave an indulgent smile and said gently, "I forgot that you like soda and fried chicken..."
Eloise looked at him quietly.
Kenneth was as refined and elegant as she remembered.
She used to be crazy about him, but she didn't want to do that now.
Eloise said coldly, "Mr. Ryan, did you bring me here only to talk about this?"
Kenneth went to the small fridge and took a bottle of soda for her.
Eloise didn't take it.
He put a straw in the bottle for her and said softly, "Eloise, I have been wondering how you were doing during the past two years." Eloise's heart skipped a beat.
She raised her head slightly and said calmly, "I was fine. I experienced a different life."
She sounded casual, but Kenneth knew it wouldn't be so simple.
Eloise was spoiled since childhood and didn't know how to take care of herself.
When he was about to ask more questions, Eloise chuckled softly and asked, "Mr. Ryan, what else do you want to know? Do you want to know how poor I was? Do you want me to regret not telling you I was pregnant or not having an abortion?"
Kenneth's handsome face turned pale.
But he remained smiling. "Don't talk like a child."
Eloise lowered her eyes and said, "A child! You always treat me as a child, don't you? Mr. Ryan, how could you have sex with me if you thought I was a child? Did you want to have a change when you were tired of your girlfriends?"
She tried to restrain herself.
"Look, we're so different. You like coffee and chess, while I like soda and chicken. I also like to go to nightclubs. We are in two different worlds... Mr. Ryan, after you said I was not your cup of tea, I didn't pester you. I took your advice and forgot what happened before."
"What do you mean by saying those words to me now?"
Kenneth felt a pang in his heart.
After all, he was completely different from her. How could he not know from her words that she hated him?
She should hate him.
They got on well back then and had a sweet and crazy time.
Any woman, naïve or sophisticated, thought her man would marry her.
Kenneth had thought of it.
But he let Eloise down.
Kenneth reached out to hold her hand, but she moved away.
Eloise calmed down and said, "I'm sorry for losing control. If you want to see Emerson, ask your secretary to contact me. I'll make the arrangement."
Kenneth asked gently, "Can I go to the Clarks' mansion?"
Eloise was startled.
She wanted to refuse, but she couldn't because the Ryan family and the Clark family were in-laws.
Kenneth didn't press her anymore.
When he ran into her, he wanted nothing but to talk to her. He hadn't chatted with people like this for a long time. It was a pure talk without any schemes, a talk between man and woman. Eloise hurried away.
Shen went out of the coffee shop and pulled open the car door to get in. Suddenly, she paused.
Across from the path, the backseat window of Kenneth's car rolled down, and Eloise saw a sophisticated and beautiful woman sitting inside.
Eloise knew this woman.
It was Amelia, Kenneth's subordinate and girlfriend.
Amelia nodded at Eloise.
Eloise sneered, thinking, "How could Kenneth do this? He went on a business trip with his female subordinate, and he talked about old times with me with affection."
What a jerk!
Kenneth followed Eloise out of the coffee shop and saw the car window roll down.
He frowned and went up to Eloise, explaining, "I brought her here on business."
Eloise said calmly, "Mr. Ryan, you don't owe me an explanation. Moreover, do you dare to say nothing has happened between the two of you?"
Kenneth fell silent.
That took place a long time ago. It was merely a one-night stand.
Amelia was nothing but his colleague now.
Eloise didn't say anything else. She quickly got in her car and fastened her seatbelt, stepping softly on the accelerator.
The red sports car flashed past Kenneth.
The moment when Eloise went past Kenneth, he saw tears rolling down her face.
Did Eloise cry?
Kenneth pressed his lips and watched her car driving away.
His subordinate Amelia got out of the car and went up to him, saying understandingly, "Mr. Ryan, is there a misunderstanding between you and Ms. Clark?"
Kenneth's heart sank.
He turned around and looked at the beautiful subordinate, instantly wearing an impeccable expression.
He smiled calmly and said, "What misunderstanding? The girl came to stand up for her brother."
He didn't mention his relationship with Eloise.
Amelia smiled lightly.
Kaleb hurried over. He saw what had happened and wiped his sweat, shouting at the driver, "Why did you drive the car here?"
The driver said awkwardly, "Ms. Baldwin asked me to do so."
Kaleb looked at Kenneth and said, "Mr. Ryan, we..."
Kenneth said lightly, "You go back to the hotel first. I'll go see Everest."
Kaleb knew what was on his mind and turned to Amelia, saying with a smile, "It seems Mr. Ryan is going to spend the night at Ms. Green's home. We can take the chance and relax a bit. Amelia, I'll take you for a few drinks tonight. The nightlife of Gredax is much glitzier than Vadiff."
After Kaleb took Amelia away, Kenneth smoked three or four cigarettes in the parking lot.
When he saw Eloise cry in the car, he knew she still loved him.
Kenneth's heart was melted by her tears.
He couldn't wait to free himself and give her a family. She wouldn't cry alone secretly in that case.
But could he do that now?
He couldn't!
Kenneth crossed the street with a white cigarette between his slender fingers.
He was handsome and charming, and many women couldn't help stealing glances at him on the way. No one could tell that he was over forty.
Kenneth went to the ward and knocked on the door.
Benjamin opened the door, surprised to see Kenneth, but he treated the latter politely.
Benjamin seemed to have forgotten the fierce fight in Vadiff. He spoke to Kenneth warmly and even gave Kenneth a glass of water. He said, "If you had come half an hour earlier, you would have met Eloise." Kenneth held the glass and pondered for a while before saying, "I saw her. We had coffee together."
Benjamin leaned on the sofa and smiled. "Eloise had coffee with you? Kenneth, did you give her an experience of elderly life? I can't figure out how you hooked up with her back then. The two of them don't fit each other no matter how I look at it."
His words annoyed Kenneth.
Kenneth put down the glass and said with a smile, "Emerson is our son. We used to be lovers, and we are friends now. In fact, I envy you. If you marry Madelyn again, you will have married her twice. I'm not as capable as you."
Benjamin flipped through the report...
He glanced at Kenneth, who was drinking water calmly.
Benjamin said lightly, "Kenneth, you don't need to envy me. My family is open-minded and won't tie you down with Emerson, so you can continue your unrestrained life. As for Eloise, my mother has arranged a blind date for her, and she agreed."
A blind date...
Kenneth gripped the glass so tight that his knuckles went white.
Benjamin looked at Kenneth's hand and chuckled softly. "Kenneth, please drink some water."
Kenneth forced a smile.
Thankfully, Everest woke up at this moment and sat up, rubbing her eyes and calling Kenneth.
Kenneth adored her.
Although he was upset, he went up to the bed and hugged Everest, kissing her. He took a souvenir from his pocket and put it on Everest's neck.
He especially went to Sona Mountain for the souvenir, which was said to be blessed.
Benjamin had a sharp eye and could see Kenneth's affection for Everest. His tone softened. "Thank you very much."
Kenneth held Everest in his arms and asked about Eleanor's trial in a low voice, and Benjamin told him everything.
Kenneth pondered and said in a subdued voice, "For safety's sake, I'll pull strings on this case."
He kissed Everest.
He would never allow Madelyn or Everest to be hurt by that crazy woman again.
