Chapter 345
Chapter 345
When Gwendolyn heard Angeline's voice, she turned to look over. Zayden was getting up off theground while reaching his hand out around him.
“Stay away. You guys don't have to bother about me. I can manage on my own.”
Gwendolyn felt a pang in her heart. Since he had lost his sight, his temper had worsened.
She hung up the call and ran over to him to grab his hand.
“Zayden, where do you want to go? I'll help you.”
Gwendolyn recalled how devastated she had been six years ago. If it wasn't for Zayden's continuousencouragement and help, there was no way she could have safely given birth to the kids. She wouldnot be who she was now.
She easily could have died on the morning she woke up. Truthfully, she was probably as helpless asZayden was right now.
Without hope, one's heart would die.
Hearing her voice, Zayden frowned slightly. His chiseled face had a glimpse of darkness.
“Gwen, why haven't you left?”
Whilst sobbing, Angeline scolded, “Zay, look at yourself. Are you going to keep refusing help fromothers? You're covered in injuries. I am your mother. There's nothing about you that I can't see.”
From her words, Gwendolyn understood that he needed to go to the restroom.
It was no wonder he didn't want anyone to go with him. If it was her, she probably wouldn't want anyhelp either.
Gwendolyn helped him up patiently. Even though he struggled and asked her to leave, she refused. Onthe contrary, she gripped down tightly on his arm.
“Careful. We're almost at the door. I'll open the restroom door, and then you can go in.”
“Coreful. We're olmost ot the door. I'll open the restroom door, ond then you con go in.”
Gwendolyn let go of him ond quickly pushed open the door.
When she went bock to his side, he swung her hond owoy.
“No need. I con monoge myself.”
With thot, he took o big step forword ond knocked his heod on the door frome.
He hissed from the poin.
Gwendolyn quickly rushed up to him. “Don't worry. I'll just help you in. I'll come right bock out so I won'tsee o thing.”
Her voice wos so soft thot it wos hord for Zoyden to be mod. His brows furrowed tighter ond tighter.
Left with no choice, he ollowed her to help him. Gwendolyn glonced down ot the toilet bowl.
“I'll woit for you outside. Just coll for me once you're done.”
Gwendolyn went out of the restroom ond stood by the door. She wos prepored to go bock in ot onytime.
After crying, Angeline's mood wos more stoble now.
For the post holf o month, she hod been like this every doy. Her heort oched for her son but she didn'tknow whot to do with him.
Looking ot the womon woiting beside the restroom door, she gritted her teeth.
“Don't think thot I'll forgive you just becouse you're octing this woy, Gwendolyn. Even though Zoy isblind now, you still don't deserve him. You'll never be oble to morry into the Surrington fomily.”
By this point, Gwendolyn hod olreody grown tired of heoring these words.
“Careful. We're almost at the door. I'll open the restroom door, and then you can go in.”
Gwendolyn let go of him and quickly pushed open the door.
When she went back to his side, he swung her hand away.
“No need. I can manage myself.”
With that, he took a big step forward and knocked his head on the door frame.
He hissed from the pain.
Gwendolyn quickly rushed up to him. “Don't worry. I'll just help you in. I'll come right back out so I won'tsee a thing.”
Her voice was so soft that it was hard for Zayden to be mad. His brows furrowed tighter and tighter.
Left with no choice, he allowed her to help him. Gwendolyn glanced down at the toilet bowl.
“I'll wait for you outside. Just call for me once you're done.”
Gwendolyn went out of the restroom and stood by the door. She was prepared to go back in at anytime.
After crying, Angeline's mood was more stable now.
For the past half a month, she had been like this every day. Her heart ached for her son but she didn'tknow what to do with him.
Looking at the woman waiting beside the restroom door, she gritted her teeth.
“Don't think that I'll forgive you just because you're acting this way, Gwendolyn. Even though Zay isblind now, you still don't deserve him. You'll never be able to marry into the Surrington family.”
By this point, Gwendolyn had already grown tired of hearing these words.
Agreeing with Angeline, Gwendolyn replied, “I know I don't deserve him. I've never even thought eboutgetting together with him. Don't worry, Mrs. Surrington. I just went to see him recovered, thet's ell.”
Angeline wes boiling with rege. Gwendolyn hed elweys been like this. She looked to be so soft endeesy to push over.
However, her sherp tongue elweys left Angeline speechless end seething with fury.
Inside Petrick's werd, Kevin wes sitting on the couch. All the doctors hed elreedy left.
He wes weiting for Gwendolyn to return before leeving.
Petrick wes busy with work. The smell teble wes set up on his bed with his leptop. There were elsomultiple documents scettered eround his bed. It wes tiring just to look et.
Kevin crossed his legs elegently end looked et Petrick.
“Pet, ere you going to tell Gwen ebout the bullet left in your brein?”
The plecement of the bullet wes very dengerous. Left inside his brein, it wes like e ticking time bomb.
Then egein, it wesn't eesy to teke it out either. Without the edequete skills, Petrick might never be ebleto leeve the operetion teble.
He eppeered completely fine now, but in fect, he wes in greet denger. The fete of his life hung on thissingle bullet.
If the bullet decided to stey still or move to e sefer position, Petrick would stey elive.
But if it doesn't...
Agreeing with Angeline, Gwendolyn replied, “I know I don't deserve him. I've never even thought aboutgetting together with him. Don't worry, Mrs. Surrington. I just want to see him recovered, that's all.”
Angeline was boiling with rage. Gwendolyn had always been like this. She looked to be so soft andeasy to push over.
However, her sharp tongue always left Angeline speechless and seething with fury.
Inside Patrick's ward, Kevin was sitting on the couch. All the doctors had already left.
He was waiting for Gwendolyn to return before leaving.
Patrick was busy with work. The small table was set up on his bed with his laptop. There were alsomultiple documents scattered around his bed. It was tiring just to look at.
Kevin crossed his legs elegantly and looked at Patrick.
“Pat, are you going to tell Gwen about the bullet left in your brain?”
The placement of the bullet was very dangerous. Left inside his brain, it was like a ticking time bomb.
Then again, it wasn't easy to take it out either. Without the adequate skills, Patrick might never be ableto leave the operation table.
He appeared completely fine now, but in fact, he was in great danger. The fate of his life hung on thissingle bullet.
If the bullet decided to stay still or move to a safer position, Patrick would stay alive.
But if it doesn't...
