Chapter 175
Chapter 175: Drunkenness
Turning around, Hugo saw Mariana behind him, who had not yet left, stepped forward and spoke hesitantly:
-Since your car hasn't arrived yet, why don't I send Mariana home?
As he said this, he looked at Mariana who had her head down, her face scarlet and her lips red. She swallowed and Hugo felt a little thirsty and unbearable. Nuria and Leonor looked at each other, but shook their heads:
-No, we will take her home.
Leaving Mariana to an unknown man on her first day of work was not a good choice.
-It's better if I do it, you can't hold it.
As the three of them were talking, a man's voice came in:
-Hello! You must be our lady's colleagues, right? I've come to take madam home.
It was Leopoldo's assistant, Lionel.
All three could not help but be stunned, especially Hugo, whose face paled for a moment, and no words escaped him.
Lionel then walked over and pointed to the black Maybach behind them.
The rear window was half down and a man's face could be seen.
-I'll take care of the lady.
Hearing those words, Nuria and Leonor were very surprised, but they let go of Mariana at last and watched as Lionel carefully helped her into the back seat.
Then, the man who had just arrived in front of them waved at them, smiled by way of greeting and sat down in the driver's seat, speeding away. He had not realized that Mariana was married.
Leaning against the back seat, Mariana frowned and groaned uncomfortably, shifted and tried to replace a comfortable position to lean against again.
Cold, stern gazes fell on the drunken woman, and Leopold's face was sullen.
Mariana moved again, then straightened up and slumped toward him.
The next instant, a warm cheek was already on his shoulder. With a frown, Leopoldo turned his head away from Mariana, but the next moment she was there again, and after several repetitions, Leopoldo only glanced at her and did not move her again.
The rearview mirror showed that his boss was looking tenderly at the woman sleeping on his shoulder.
However, it was obvious that none of them had realized that.
Suddenly, after a pothole, the car swayed and Mariana vomited.
Lionel turned his head in surprise to see Leopoldo completely frozen and a sleeping Mariana, while the chief's suit jacket was covered with stains and a strange smell was spreading through the car.
In Leopold's eyes there was a slight expression of displeasure, but even so, he did not push away the woman leaning on his shoulder.
Taking the tissue handed to him by Lionel, Leopoldo wiped the stains from Mariana's body before turning his head and looking out the window.
A light breath tickled his heart in his ears, and after a long while, the man smiled.
Shortly after arriving at the villa, Leopoldo took the woman in his arms and quickly entered the room.
Carmen also came in and spoke with concern:
-Why are you so drunk, madam?
After another glance at Leopoldo's rude hand movements, Carmen stepped forward again and said:
-Mr. Durán, I'd better do it myself.
Frowning, Leopoldo let go of him, sniffed the smell in his hand and hurried to the bathroom.
With a sigh, Carmen stepped forward and began to carefully remove the suit from Mariana's body, brought hot water, cleaned her up and put on her pajamas before finishing.
On his way out, he met Leopoldo, who had already changed into his home clothes.
-Are you ready?
Nodding, Carmen said respectfully:
-Yes, sir.
After a pause, he said:
-Mr. Durán, the lady is not a very good drinker, so next time don't let her drink so much.
-I can see that.
The next day, Mariana woke up with a headache and shook her head violently before remembering what had happened the night before, but she couldn't remember who had brought her home. When he got up and went downstairs, he saw Carmen, with breakfast, placing the hot milk and bread on the table.
The maid smiled and said:
-Ma'am, come down for breakfast.
Mariana had gotten drunk at home with Leopoldo the day before when she got a job, but after a night of partying, she got drunk again. With a sigh, she picked up the sobering medicine from the dining room table, Mariana raised her head, closed her eyes and ate it in one gulp, bitterness made her frown slightly.
-Carmen, who took me home yesterday?
Picking up the bread from the table, he spread some blueberry jam on it before taking a soft bite.
Carmen looked at Mariana with some surprise, her face full of confusion:
-Didn't you drink with the master last night? It was he who brought you back.
Mariana looked at her in disbelief, her eyebrows furrowed and her heart trembling.
-Leopoldo?
-Yes.
After a pause, seeing that Mariana was still looking confused, Carmen put her things in her hands and came to Mariana's side.
-Ma'am, do you really not remember? Last night you even threw up all over sir, and he took you back.
