Please Go Away, Mr Smith! – Chapter 358: You Have the Wrong Number

With that in mind, Sean lay on the edge of the bed, sleeping.

Amber washed up and returned to the ward. Sean had closed his eyes but she didn’t know if he was asleep.

He lay on the edge of the bed, and was likely to fall off at any time.

Amber frowned, took off her shoes and lay down beside Cindy.

The temperature in the room was low, and Amber tucked in Sean and Cindy before she fell asleep.

It was a peaceful night.

When Amber woke up, it was already dawn.

Cindy and Sean were still asleep. She sat up, turned her head, and saw Sean put his arms around Cindy and sleeping peacefully.

Cindy probably moved towards Sean in the middle of the night.

Amber worried that Cindy would touch Sean’s injuries, and pulled Cindy away from Sean, then got up, packed her things, and bought breakfast.

By the time they got to Xingyue Bay, it was already ten o’clock in the morning.

As soon as Sean sat down on the sofa, his phone rang. Cindy was the closest to it. She picked the phone up, and answered it.

It was Lin Man.

“Cindy? I’m outside your father’s ward. Why are you guys not here?”

Cindy blinked and looked at Sean. Sean also looked at her.

“Who’s that?”

Cindy’s expression remained unchanged and she said, “She has the wrong number.”

Then she hung up!

On the other end of the phone, Lin Man held the phone. Her expression remained unchanged, but the blue veins on the back of her hand stood out.

She had the wrong number?

She heard Sean’s voice. How could she have the wrong number?

Lin Man didn’t hesitate to call Sean again.

Before calling, she asked at the nurse’s station. The nurse told her that Sean had been discharged from the hospital.

He left with Amber?

Why didn’t Sean tell her this?

Sean suspiciously took the phone from Cindy.

When he was about to check who called, his phone rang again.

Sean answered it. Lin Man’s voice was very shallow and soft, “Hey, is that Sean?”

Sean licked the corner of his lips and glanced at Cindy meaningfully, “Lin Man, of course it’s me.”

Cindy was playing with building blocks. Hearing Sean’s words, she raised her head and stared nervously at the phone in Sean’s hand.

“I am at the door of your ward, but you are not here…”

“I’m discharged.”

There was silence on the phone.

Sean stretched out his hand and poured himself a glass of water. He said in a low tone, “Lin Man, I was discharged from the hospital in a hurry, so I forgot to tell you. I’m sorry!”

“It’s ok.”

Lin Man had always been sensible. She didn’t hold on to this matter and asked in a low voice, “You are not healed. Why did you suddenly leave hospital?”

“Can we eat together at noon?”

Sean frowned a little, and he whispered, “I’m in Xingyue Bay. You can come here for lunch. I’ll ask Amber to make more dishes!”

“No, since you are with Amber, I won’t bother you.”

“Sean, I wish you an early recovery.”

“Thank you.”

After Sean finished speaking, he hung up the phone, put his phone on the table and stared at Cindy.

She was only three years old, curled on the sofa, and her eyes were full of fluster.

“Dad?”

Sean’s voice was cold, ” Cindy, didn’t your mother teach you that children can’t lie?”

At first, Cindy said the person called had the wrong number.

Then Lin Man asked him, was that Sean?

He immediately knew what Cindy had done.

When they first met, Cindy tore up Lin Man’s photo. Last time in the ward, she kicked Lin Man. This time, when Lin Man called, she said that Lin Man had the wrong number!

Why was a three-year-old child so vicious?

Thinking this, Sean looked more and more gloomy. He stood in the living room, blocking the light in front of Cindy and making Cindy’s eyes sour.

“Dad, are you angry?”

“You said children can’t lie, then can adults lie?”

Sean froze.

Great, was this brat questioning him?

Sean’s eyelid twitched. Cindy was already in tears and opened her mouth aggrievedly, “On the mountain beside grandma’s house, you said you would take me and mom to play peekaboo!”

“You lied to me!”

“Lin Man said she and mom were good friends, but she actually wanted to be your mistress!”

“You adults are the ones who tell the most lies!”

Cindy’s tears suddenly fell, “I just wanted to protect my mom and my home. I did nothing wrong!”

She was resorting to sophistry!

Sean raised his hand and threw the cup on the coffee table to the ground.

“Bang!

“You should admit your mistake!”

He stepped forward, ignoring the injury in his palm, and grabbed Cindy’s forearm tightly.

Sean was an adult and had great strength. Cindy staggered and sat crouched on the ground.

She was stubborn and panicked.

Her big eyes were foggy. She burst into a rage of tears, and sobbed too much to speak.

“I did nothing wrong!”

“Mom… mom!”

Amber was unpacking things in the bedroom. Hearing Cindy’s cry, she came out at once and saw Sean’s sullen face. He was grabbing Cindy’s arm, as if he was going to kill her.

Amber’s breathing paused. She strode forward, pulling Sean away.

As soon as Amber came over, Cindy tightly hugged her waist, lying in her arms, shivering.

“What happened? Sean, why did you suddenly get angry with Cindy?”

Sean sneered and said, “You should ask what your good daughter has done!”

“You think you are smart? You hung up on someone who called me, and then said she had the wrong number! You think she wouldn’t call again?”

Amber roughly knew what happened.

Except for Lin Man, Sean would not be so angry for anyone else!

Amber pulled Cindy.

“Apologize to dad. You were wrong!”

“Didn’t I tell you that children can’t lie! Don’t you remember what I said?”

Cindy cried louder.

“No…no!”

Amber asked in a flat tone, “Will you apologize or not?”

“No!”

Cindy cried and said. Amber suddenly picked her up, opened the door of Xingyue Bay, and put her at the door.
