Her heart was battered, and Cindy was suffering.

Amber blinked. Maybe time could really wash love away.

She forced out a smile, and whispered, “Let’s take Cindy to the operation room. Her operation can’t delay anymore.”

Lu Yi stood up straight, and saw Sean coming out of the elevator. Ridicule flashed across his eyes, then he lowered his voice and said to Amber.

“Amber, Sean followed me here.”

“He is worried about Cindy…”

Amber was too tired. She slept late last night, and got up early in the morning. She was physically and mentally fatigued, and was not in the mood to think about Lu Yi’s words carefully.

Hearing what he said, Amber paused and laughed.

“Oh, he is probably here to mock me.”

Amber rubbed her aching head with one hand, and her face was pale, “Last night, I splashed Lin Man with coffee and slapped her!”

“If I didn’t do that, Cindy’s operation may have completed in Tong City Central Hospital.”

After Amber finished speaking, Lu Yi found that Sean suddenly stood still and did not go any further.

The expression on his face was gloomy. He heard Amber’s words.

He was here to mock Amber?

He actually was such a person in Amber’s heart.

She was smart, knowing that not everyone in the world liked her.

Sean was so angry.

He was probably insane. Why did he ask the doctor from Tong City Central Hospital to be here to perform the surgery on Amber’s daughter?

She was already sure that even if he came, he was here to mock her.

If the doctor he called really came, Amber would laugh at him.

Mr. Smith is really interesting. You kicked me out of the hospital, but took people here to perform surgery on Cindy?

Sean subconsciously wanted to turn around and leave.

He even took out his phone. He wouldn’t give Amber a chance to humiliate him.

Touching the phone screen, Sean stopped.

Amber was in front of him, less than five steps away. She looked pale. Was she going to perform the surgery in this kind of state?

She would probably make Cindy’s condition worse.

Cindy was only three years old and called him father for almost two months.

She was cute and was good at pleasing him though she would make him speechless sometimes.

Forget it, he would still help Amber!

If his father learned that he made Amber and her daughter leave Tong City Central Hospital, he could explain!

But he wouldn’t show up, in case he would be humiliated by Amber.

Sean’s eyes flickered. He put his phone away, entered the elevator, and returned to the car.

After Sean left, Amber followed Lu Yi to the dean’s office and talked about using the Second Hospital’s operating room.

The dean’s surname was Yun, a middle-aged man. He looked very shrewd. After knowing the purpose of Amber and Lu Yi, he didn’t agree at once.

He smiled and said to Lu Yi, “Mr. Lu, the medical conditions in our hospital are not very good. The medical equipment in Tong City Central Hospital is the most advanced. Besides, the Smith family is its biggest shareholder. Mrs. Smith, you can be taken good care of there…”

“Dean Yun, you mean you won’t lend the operating room to us?”

Dean Yun was embarrassed, “Mr. Lu, you and Mr. Smith are cousins. You should know his temper better than me!”

“I dare not agree.”

“The medical conditions in our hospital are not good. If something goes wrong with Miss Smith’s operation, we can’t take full responsibility…”

Lu Yi frowned.

What the dean said made sense.

But Cindy’s operation couldn’t delay anymore.

In any case, he needed to borrow the operating room of the Second Hospital.

When Lu Yi glanced at Amber and was about to speak, Dean Yun’s cell phone suddenly rang.

He smiled flatteringly at Lu Yi, “Mr. Lu, I’m sorry… I have to answer the call…”

Five minutes later, Dean Yun hung up with a weird expression.

He glanced at Lu Yi and then turned to look at Amber. Lu Yi took a step forward, blocking the vision of Dean Yun, and the warmth in his eyes disappeared.

Dean Yun laughed, walked to Amber from behind the desk, and said humbly.

“Mrs. Smith, knowing that you are not willing to let your daughter have the operation in the Central Hospital, their elite doctors came here.”

Amber was taken aback, and subconsciously looked at Lu Yi.

Amber saw the same astonishment in his eyes.

She frowned and asked carefully, “What did you say?”

Dean Yun smiled, “Mrs. Smith, I’ll get the operating room ready right away. But Mr. Smith said you are not in good condition and cannot participate in the operation.”

There were experienced doctors operating on Cindy. Of course she would not participate in it.

Amber licked the corner of her lips and nodded.

Dean Yun made a please gesture, “Mr. Lu, Mrs. Smith, please.”

Lu Yi held Cindy behind Amber. Dean Yun said with a smile, “Mrs. Smith, our doctors will assist the doctor sent here by Mr. Smith.”

Sean hired an expert in ophthalmology. If the doctors of the Second Hospital could watch the whole process of this operation, they might learn something, which would be good for the development of the Second Hospital.

Amber was in turmoil. No matter what Dean Yun said, she nodded.

After the operation was completed, it may be dark.

Cindy’s surgery was a success. Amber was relieved. She slumped on the hospital bench with a blank expression.

The doctor was telling her some dos and don’ts and Amber listened carefully.

It wasn’t until Cindy was transferred to the general ward that Amber had time to call Sean.

Seeing Amber’s call, Sean was still downstairs in the Second Hospital. He was sitting in the car. The doctor had called him and said that Cindy’s operation was very successful.

So when his phone rang, his first reaction was that Amber called to humiliate him.

He hung up without hesitation.
