Please Go Away, Mr. Smith!
Please Go Away, Mr Smith! – Chapter 426: Why Did You Buy These Things

Sean’s head buzzed.

Men’s slippers and razor, through the transparent shopping bag, came into Sean’s view.

What was Amber going to do?

In order to force him to divorce, she was going to live with her lover in the hospital without giving thought to Cindy’s feelings?

Sean was like eating a dead fly. He was unable to swallow or spit it out.

“Why did you buy these things?”

Hearing Sean’s voice, Amber raised her head. His dark eyes were bottomless and deep.

She stood straight slowly and said, “Have you got the result of the paternity test?”

Normally, it took more than ten days to get the result.

Even if it was Sean, he may not be able to get it in one day.

“Cindy is my daughter.”

Amber was a little surprised. He seemed to have got the result.

Sean did not ask how she got pregnant with Cindy, and Amber did not have the desire to explain. She lowered her eyes, carrying the things in her hand, and said.

“Let’s go up.”

No!

Why should he listen to Amber?

Sean paused and followed Amber for one step. Then he caught up with Amber in two steps.

With Cindy in one arm, he freed the other, reaching out for the shopping bag in Amber’s hand.

Amber let the bag go calmly.

In the ward, Sean put Cindy on the bed, and Amber called the nurse to give Cindy a drip.

The nurse checked Cindy’s wound. She frowned and said in a warning tone, “The wound on the baby’s leg is stitched up, but it hasn’t recovered. Now it’s bleeding.”

“Don’t take her out again!”

Sean’s heart contracted. He frowned and asked, “Can you stop the bleeding for her?”

The nurse nodded.

The nurse quickly gave Cindy a hemostatic needle.

Sean blamed himself.

Ever since he suspected that Cindy was her daughter, he wished he could stay with Cindy every day.

Unexpectedly, love was also a burden.

When Cindy was having the drip, Amber pointed to the door and whispered, “Mr. Smith, can I have a word with you?”

Sean hesitated and followed Amber to the door of the ward. Amber stopped in a position where she could see the hanging bottle in the room as long as she turned around.

He said directly, “Amber, I don’t agree with you living with other men in the hospital!”

Amber was confused, but it suddenly dawned on her. She laughed and continued, “Mr. Smith, you overthink. I bought those things for you.”

Sean was shocked.

Bought for him? Did Amber change her mind? She was not going to divorce him but raise Cindy with him?

Amber’s words, like a warm current, ran into Sean’s chest.

But Amber suddenly said, “Aren’t you going to fight me for Cindy’s custody? I’ll give you a chance. I will leave, and you will take care of Cindy these days.”

Sean took a deep breath, as if someone had poured a basin of cold water on his head in winter.

“What?”

He must have misheard.

Didn’t Amber always take Cindy as her life?

How could she leave her daughter to him and let him take care of her?

He had no experience of taking care of children!

Moreover, Cindy was seriously injured. If he made any mistake in taking care of her, he might put her in danger.

“Are you out of your mind?”

“I’ve never taken care of a child. Aren’t you worried that I…”

“Enough!” Amber yelled.

Sean’s eyelashes trembled, and he looked at Amber with deep eyes. She was more than one head shorter, thin and weak, but she looked confident.

Amber raised her eyes slightly and said gently, “Three years ago, I didn’t have any experience of taking care of children, either!”

Sean’s breathing slowed down.

“You are at least rich. Three years ago, I had nothing!”

“You didn’t admit that Cindy was your child and didn’t let her return to the Smith family. You even locked me, who was about to give birth, in the room. I overcame those difficulties!”

“If you can’t learn how to take care of children, give up fighting me for Cindy’s custody!”

Sean’s chest was like being blocked by something. The unfamiliar pain hit him suddenly, and his face turned pale.

“Okay.”

Sean responded. Amber glanced at him and turned to leave.

Suddenly, Sean grabbed her wrist, “Aren’t you going to explain this to Cindy?” Amber looked back and hesitated.

She sneered, “You should do that.”

Explain?

She had been explaining to Cindy for three years why her father didn’t come to see her!

She was tired.

She didn’t want to explain anymore.

She shook off Sean’s hand and quickly disappeared into the hospital corridor.

Sean’s eyes deepened.

Amber left quickly without hesitation, which caught Sean off guard.

He stood at the door of the ward, smoking. A layer of ash fell on his shiny leather shoes.

He then moved and turned back to the ward.

Hearing the sound, Cindy called, “Dad, is that you?”

“Yes.”

Sean walked to the bed and sat down.

Cindy looked very pale. When the nurse gave her the drip, she said that it would hurt. If the child cried, he could feed her some sugar.

Sean rubbed his daughter’s bloodless face. Cindy smiled, “Dad, I can tell your footsteps.”

“Huh?”

“I can also tell mom’s footsteps.”

Sean was surprised.

He kissed his daughter’s forehead and asked in a low voice, “Does it hurt?”

“Yes,” Cindy whispered. Sean was a little flustered. He reached out and sent a candy to Cindy’s lips, “Have a candy?”

“No.”

Cindy shook her head and whispered, “I have already eaten the ice-cream cone today. If I eat sugar, I will get decayed teeth.”

She was very sensible and would not bring trouble to adults at all.

If it were an adult who had the car accident, he may not be able to put up with the pain, but Cindy, a three-year-old child, did that and even refused candy.

Sean’s chest was filled with Cindy’s words. He was gratified and satisfied.

“Dad, where’s mom?” Cindy asked, “Didn’t mom come back with you?”
