Please Go Away, Mr. Smith!
Please Go Away, Mr Smith! – Chapter 428: You’ve Forgotten Me

He slowly approached and took the woman’s arm. Her eyes were full of resentment, and it was Amber.

“You’ve forgotten me!”

Amber gritted her teeth and repeated it again, then she pushed him away and jumped off the building.

“Amber!”

Sean abruptly sat up from the hospital bed.

He was in a cold sweat, and his heart was beating quickly. It seemed that his cardiovascular system would burst open in the next second.

Sean cursed. He actually had such a dream!

He pressed his lips tightly. The ward was dark. The light outside was on and came in through the window. Sean wiped the sweat from his forehead, took a deep breath, and fell back on the bed.

He tilted his head and glanced at Cindy.

Sean found something wrong. Cindy’s breathing seemed to be very rapid.

He reached out and touched Cindy’s forehead.

It was very hot. Sean reached out to turn on the light and pressed the nurse bell on the desk.

He called Cindy in a low voice, “Cindy?”

Cindy didn’t react at all. Sean took out his phone and called Amber.

It was already four o’clock in the morning. Ignoring the time, Sean called Amber, and Amber answered it quickly with a sleepy voice.

“Hello?”

Sean took a deep breath and said, “Cindy has a fever… Why would she have a fever?”

Sean asked.

Cindy was hit by a car and injured. Why did she suddenly have a fever?

Sean didn’t know why.

When Amber heard Sean’s voice, she sobered up, sat up and said in a low voice, “Why are you calling me instead of bringing her fever down?”

Sean’s b***d seemed to be frozen.

Why are you calling me instead of bringing her fever down?

“She…”

Before he could finish speaking, the busy tone came from the other side.

Amber hung up.

He felt that this scene was a bit familiar, as if it had happened somewhere.

Sean put away his phone with a sullen face.

Amber hung up on him.

She was too indifferent to what happened to Cindy. To get a divorce with him, she even ignored her daughter?

Since Amber hated him so much, why did she marry him three years ago?

Sean waited for a minute or two. The nurse didn’t come. He threw his phone on the table, bent down and carefully picked Cindy from the bed.

Then he strode out of the ward.

After he reached the nurse’s station, a nurse was lying prone on the desk, sleeping. Sean woke her up and said, “My daughter has a fever. Please help her.”

The nurse was shocked when she saw Sean, and asked him, “Have you taken her temperature?”

Sean shook his head. The nurse quickly took out the thermometer to take Cindy’s temperature.

Cindy opened her eyes. She looked weak and pale, and her lips were a little dry.

“Dad…”

Her voice was almost inaudible. Sean’s heart seemed to be penetrated by a sharp sword.

“Cindy, you are… awake?”

“Dad, it hurts.” Cindy sounded aggrieved.

“Mr. Smith, the wound on the child’s leg is serious. After being stitched, it would usually hurt.”

The nurse whispered. Sean put Cindy on the plastic bench, “Cindy, after it dawns, I will buy your favorite Black Forest cake. Bear with it, okay?”

“Dad, can you ask the doctor to check the wound for me?”

Cindy’s tears rolled out, and she grabbed Sean’s shirt with her little hands, “Where is mom?”

“Aren’t mom coming to see me?”

She choked up and asked, “It hurts. I want mom. Can you ask mom to see me?”

Sean reached out and wiped the sweat from Cindy’s forehead. Her eyes widened, but there was no light in her eyes.

“Dad, I’m so scared… I’m uncomfortable. Will I die?”

Sean’s pupils contracted violently. He held her tightly, “You won’t!”

“You will be okay!”

Sean reassured Cindy, then asked the nurse to get his phone from the ward.

Only Cindy and Sean were in the corridor of the hospital.

Sean took out the thermometer and took a look at it. 39.3 degrees centigrade!

The nurse came back. Sean took the phone and called the dean.

Five minutes later, Cindy’s attending doctor hurried over, and checked Cindy.

“How is she?”

“Her wound is infected.” The doctor paused, and continued, “Don’t take her out before her wound is scabbed.”

“It’s dustier outside. Her infection was found in time. But next time, she won’t be so lucky.”

Sean said okay.

“Cindy said it hurts. Can you give her a pain killer injection!”

He stood, looking at Cindy who was shivering on the hospital bed. There was obvious distress in his eyes.

“Mr. Smith… Your daughter can’t have a pain killer injection.”

Sean glanced at the doctor.

The doctor had a cold sweat on his forehead. He gritted his teeth and said in a low voice, “Mr. Smith, your daughter is allergic to pain killer injection. Mrs. Smith specifically mentioned it to us.”

“The indwelling needle in her was specially made up by us…”

Sean paused.

He was in poor health and was allergic to many drugs. In other words, he couldn’t use most of the drugs on the market.

But he knew that Amber was not allergic to any drugs.

So Cindy’s drug allergy was inherited from him?

Sean laughed suddenly with a bit of pain that was hard to ignore in his eyes.

He failed to give Cindy a good life but made her sick and suffer such unnecessary pain.

Sean kept silent, and the nurse pressed her lips and said in a low voice, “Mr. Smith, you heard what Miss Smith said just now. She has always been smart and sensible. She probably really misses her mother.”

After hesitating, the nurse continued, “Why don’t you call Mrs. Smith and ask her to see your daughter?”

Sean licked the corner of his lips.

Amber hated him.

How could she come and see Cindy?

As long as he was by Cindy’s side, Amber would never show up.

After the nurse left, Sean hesitated, took out his phone and called Amber.
