Chapter 1029 Not Like That Before

Summer helped him, but he did not refuse.

They chatted on and off, and suddenly, Douglas said in a very solemn voice, "Summer."

Summer looked up at him in surprise.

"You must receive proper treatment. Leonardo, he ... can't do without you." Douglas could more or less feel Summer's pessimism.

Moreover, Leonardo had vaguely asked him to talk to Summer when he was free.

Hearing this, Douglas became anxious. He held Summer's hand and said, "I don't care. Summer, you must listen to the doctors. Promise me. I won't leave unless you promise me!"

"I'm not going to school anymore," he said cheekily. "I'll stay at home and become a useless man without a degree or a decent job."

Hearing this, Summer said with a wry face, "No, you won't."

"Yes, I will!" Douglas was playing dumb to her.

Summer shook her head, "I will listen to the doctors and receive proper treatment, but what if I can't be cured? Do I have the right to give up the treatment?"

Douglas was startled. He didn't expect Summer to say that. He let go of Summer and said in a daze, "Summer, you weren't like this before."

In his mind, Summer was a soft-hearted but strong person, kind but with principles. She would be tough when someone tried to hurt her. Why had she become like this? Douglas didn't know. There were so many things that he couldn't explain in the life, such as the death of his father and brother, or his mother ended up in the psychiatric hospital.

If he could explain all these things, he probably wouldn't have been so upset.

Summer didn't know how to reply to Douglas. She was not like this? Then what was she supposed to be like before?

She couldn't remember. She did not remember what she had been like in the past.

When Douglas left, everyone went to see him off. The one most reluctant to part with Douglas was Rosie.

Normally, Rosie acted mature like an adult. But when Douglas was about to leave, her eyes were so red as if she was going to cry out.

Douglas picked her up. She hugged Douglas' neck and leaned against him. She did not say anything and looked sad.

Douglas felt bad, and gently patted Rosie's back, "I will come back to see you as long as I have a holiday, Okay?"

There were tears in Rosie's eyes, but she nodded, "OK."

She looked very obedient. Douglas' heart was about to melt.

Douglas whispered to her, "Take good care of your mother and father."

Rosie whispered, "OK." Then, she whispered in a serious tone, "Remember to call me."
