Purchased A Mr. Right -
Chapter 1059
In the same night, at the entrance of a bar.
When a fancy Mercedes passed by, Shelby suddenly shouted, "Pull over!" The driver in front quickly slowed down and steadily parked the car at the roadside.
A waitress was holding a tray at the door. She seemed to be selling wine. Her work uniform was different from the ordinary one. Her collar hung open and her dress was short. At this time, she was being pulled out by a customer.
The customer was drunk. He grabbed the waitress and refused to let her go. Besides, he was touching her all over.
It took the waitress a huge amount of effort to break free. However, she was taken advantage of. The hem of her dress had almost been ripped off. She was now cursing and smoothing the dress.
When she looked up, she happened to meet the eyes of the person sitting in the car, and her face turned pale immediately.
"
Shelby!"
Shelby, who was in the car, widened her eyes in surprise. At this moment, she came out of the car,
frowned, and said, "Get in the car now!"
After closing the door, Shelby asked in disbelief, "Kyla, why did you come here to do that?"
"I don't want to! This is all because of Anthea, that b*tch!" Kyla said, gnashing her teeth, "Remember that piece of broken jade? I lost one hundred thousand dollars! I should have told you more or less about my family's situation. My father prefers sons to daughters. I was almost fired before, and he already didn't like me. If I asked him for the money, he would definitely be furious!"
"But I will never apologize to them. Later, I thought of a short-term solution and found a loan company.
They urged me to pay the debt. Now I can only come here to sell wine to make money!"
"Shelby, don't tell anyone else. If our school replaces out what I am doing, I..."
Shelby nodded solemnly when she heard this. "I see. I was wrong. You have no other choice! Don't worry. Of course, I won't tell anyone else!"
Kyla breathed a sigh of relief and said gratefully, "Shelby, thank you! We're good friends. I know you won't betray me!"
Shelby shook her head, indicating that there was no need to thank her.
"It's all Anthea's fault. It's her who made me do this job today! I hate her!" Kyla's eyes were burning with anger, and she was resentful. She did not think that it was her own fault.
A smile flashed across Shelby's eyes. Frowning, she took out the money from the bag next to her.
After opening it, she pulled out a small stack of cash.
"Kyla, I've only three thousand. I'll give it all to you!" Shelby said, with a helpless expression on her face, and heaved a sigh. "I'm sorry, I can't help you much. I know that usurious loans create debts. I don't have so much money... Although my family is well-off, after all, I'm still a high school student and my father is strict with me. He will buy me whatever I want, but in fact, I don't have much cash..." "I know!" Kyla nodded repeatedly.
Kyla was moved when she received the money though it was a drop in the bucket. She held her hands tightly and said, "Shelby, thank you for helping me!"
After the door was closed, Kyla walked back into the bar with the tray in her hand.
When the car window was closed, the sympathy on Shelby's face suddenly disappeared without a trace. She even snorted in disgust. Then she smirked and ordered the driver, "Let's go!" After having dinner in the canteen in the evening, Anthea was the first to run back to her dormitory.
Sitting in the chair, she took out her mobile phone.
It was easy to replace "Adam Chin" on the phone. Anthea stared at it and hesitated for two seconds. Then she reorganized the text and replaced it with his name.
After touching it gently, the words on the screen had been changed to Adam.
There was a little shyness in Anthea's eyes as she waited to get through his number.
"Hello, Adam!"
Adam's low and deep voice rang out. "Hmm, what's the matter?"
Maybe it was because she just changed the name, Anthea pulled the tablecloth like a little girl and said shyly, "Well, I want to ask if you have time tonight? I don't have any class tonight, so I just need to do some exercises. I don't have to stay on the campus, so could you be my tutor tonight?"
There was a pause at the other end of the line for two seconds, and then he said, "I'm busy tonight."
Anthea couldn't help feeling a little disappointed. "Seriously?"
"Yes, I have to go." Adam seemed to be driving and hung up without talking too much.
Her expectation fell short, and the light in Anthea's eyes suddenly went out. She, originally cheerful, wilted and bent over the table listlessly.
She didn't lie just now, and she just needed to do some papers, so she really didn't force herself to stay.
Due to his refusal, Anthea suddenly lost all interest in studying. She thought for a moment and decided to visit her grandfather. Last time, Master Hsu seemed to have caught a cold and had invited a family doctor. She hadn't gone to visit him yet.
When it was getting late, she got out of the taxi and went to the villa.
As soon as she stepped in, Anthea saw the military green jeep, which was parked in the yard. She also checked the number plates and confirmed that it belonged to the army!
She was stunned for a moment, and then quickly walked into the villa.
After greeting the servants, Anthea changed her shoes and went up to the second floor. When she turned over the stairs, Adam's tall and strong figure just came out of Master's room. Anthea raised her head and looked into his unfathomable eyes.
Pursing her lips, she could not help but come forward and ask, "Adam, didn't you say that you are busy tonight?"
"I have something to do later," Adam replied in a low voice.
Anthea looked at the car key in his hand and asked in a hurry, "So, are you leaving now?"
"Yes." Adam nodded.
Anthea gently clenched her hands as she mumbled, "I'm here to see grandpa..."
Adam raised his chin and said evenly, "He's in the room. Go in."
Anthea bit her lip.
Watching him pass by her with one hand in his pocket, she could not help but shout, "Adam!"
Adam stopped and turned away. Her dark eyes were sunk deep into their sockets. In the light of the corridor, his eyes looked like a lake in the moonlight, making it hard for others to figure out his thoughts. "Do you have anything else to say?"
Anthea tightened her grip. The corners of his mouth twitched, and she shook her head. "No..."
Hearing this, Adam lightly withdrew his gaze and continued to walk forward. When his military boots fell on the ground, the sound of steady footsteps could be heard. Soon, his cold back disappeared from her sight, and the sound of his footsteps faded away.
Anthea stood silently on the spot, her eyelashes trembling slightly.
She didn't know if it was her illusion, but she could sense a faint sense of alienation from him...
