Purchased A Mr. Right -
Chapter 1079
"Because of my confession?"
Anthea looked straight at him without blinking, "I said I liked you, so you hid from me and deliberately transferred to Francis?" Adam did not answer her. Instead, he was just puffing smoke.
It seemed that he didn't know how to answer, or he didn't want to answer.
Seeing this, Anthea did not continue to ask. She pinched her fingers and said, "Uncle Adam, don't send me back, okay?"
I want to be with you.
She said in a low voice, with two bent shadows hanging from her eyelashes. "I haven't been out for a long journey since I was born. It's the first time that I have been in Francis. I heard that the scenery here is beautiful, so I want to have a look. I want to try the hot pot here..."
After smoking a cigarette, Adam put it out in the ashtray and stand to his feet.
Anthea looked up in a hurry and reached out to grab his sleeve, "Uncle-in-law, are you still going to drive me away?"
She sat cross-legged on the sofa. One of them was up high and one is down low.
Adam looked down at her shining expressive eyes.
He was shocked when he heard that she had been in Francis.
Such a young and frail girl should have the courage to travel across so many cities to replace him.
She probably knew how dangerous it might be, but she still came.
It shocked him so much.
There was a flash of light in Adam's eyes.
But soon he calmed down again, and all his thoughts were hidden in his eyes, so that no one could see through. He said, "You should rest first."
Anthea refused to let go and looked at him with trembling eyelashes.
Adam kept silent for two seconds and said to her, "I'll pick you up tomorrow. I'll show you around."
"Yeah!" Anthea showed two small dimples, which made her very cute.
Adam did not say anything else. He took the car keys and strode to the door. Before he left, he urged her to lock the door from inside.
Anthea slept quite tight.
She had been on the train for two days and two nights and had no rest at all. She finally found him and met him. She slept soundly and did not wake up until noon the next day.
There was a restaurant in the hotel, and Anthea ate a bowl of noodles.
She did not dare to leave, fearing that he would not be able to replace her.
After she finished eating, she returned to her room and waited for him obediently. As time went by, Anthea gradually became a little anxious. She was afraid that he just made an excuse and had left her here alone.
When she hesitated whether she should call him, her mobile phone rang.
Anthea's eyes instantly lit up, and his deep voice passed through the speaker, "Come down, Anthea."
Hanging up the phone, she grabbed her thin coat and ran out like a happy bird.
Anthea walked out of the revolving door all the way from the elevator. When she stepped on the stairs in front of the hotel gate, Anthea paused.
The black Hummer was parked at the gate of the hotel. Adam didn't wear uniform today but dressed casually in a beige shirt and dark brown trousers. As usual, he was wearing that pair of military boots. No matter when, he was always so charming and spirited.
At this time, he was standing in front of the car, but there was a woman standing next to him.
That was a very pretty woman with long black hair. She wore a sapphire blue skirt, a pair of thick highheeled shoes, and light make-up. She looked about the same age as him.
When she came out, they were chatting and smiling.
It seemed that they were not acquaintance that had ran into each other but were here together from the beginning.
Adam had already seen her, and said to the woman, "She's coming."
Anthea had to walk toward them. When the woman saw Anthea, she smiled more brightly and greeted her in a very friendly way, "Hey, you are Anthea, right?"
Anthea pursed her lips and turned to Adam.
Adam saw her doubt and explained, "This is my friend, Mira Zaring."
"Just call me Aunt Mira!" The woman smiled at her.
Anthea's mouth moved, and she reluctantly greeted, "Aunt Mira..."
She guessed that Mira should be a little younger than Adam, so Mira was only several years older than her, and she could call her Sister Mira. However, Mira was Adam's friend, so she should be counted as Anthea's senior.
It was as if she was being reminded that, in front of them, she was just a junior.
Mira was a very gentle person. She said to her, "Adam said that it was your first time to come to the Francis and wanted to look around, so he asked me to be your guide! I'm also from Ice city and was transferred here half a year ago. I'm familiar with this place!"
"Oh." Anthea said in a muffled voice.
The two people's world suddenly get a third wheel, and they were like taking care of a naughty child. She really couldn't be happy.
Adam said, "Get on the car."
His tall and strong figure passed by the front of the car, and Mira had already opened the front door. Anthea had to sit on the backseat.
After the Hummer drove away from the hotel, Anthea looked at the scenery outside the window and couldn't lift up.
They visited many famous attractions. They visited houses surrounded by small bridges and running water, which was the distinctive feature of Francis area. They could feel the beauty everywhere. When they got tired, they sat at the end of the bridge and had a rest.
Adam's eyes swept over the sweat on Anthea's forehead, and he calmly said that he would go to the supermarket across the street.
For the whole afternoon, it was Mira who was talking most of the time. Adam was reticent, and Anthea was in a low spirit.
At this time, only the two of them were left. The atmosphere was too silent. Anthea took the initiative to attempt a conversation, trying to replace out their relation, "Aunt Mira, what do you do?"
"I am a teacher of fine art," Mira replied, and then politely asked her with a smile, "Anthea, I heard that you have just finished applying for school. You will be a college student in September, right?" Anthea remained silent.
She did not answer.
She felt a lump in her throat, and it was not good to be seen through.
Anthea looked at Mira up and down. The sapphire blue skirt was very well-suited, setting off her fair skin and her slender figure. Moreover, it didn't make her sexy or seductive but elegant and charming. She, on the opposite, looked puerile and naive in a white shirt and short jeans.
Anthea felt depressed.
Adam came back from the supermarket and handed them two bottles of mineral water, "Drink some water."
When Anthea saw that the bottle cap had been unscrewed, she felt joy in her heart. But when she looked aside, she found that Mira's had also been unscrewed. The faint joy disappeared without a trace in an instant.
"Thank you!" Mira took it with a smile.
Anthea got sulky that she deliberately didn't drink a sip.
She kept squinting at Adam. When she saw that he was talking to Mira and didn't notice her at all, she was very discouraged.
She didn't know what they were talking about. Not long after they stepped on the bridge, Mira smiled and looked back at her, "Do you want to eat hotpot? I know that there is a nice restaurant, and it's famous and popular among young people. I heard that many stars have been there! Anthea, let's take you to try it. You should like it!"
