Purchased A Mr. Right
Chapter 1108

He scolded Anthea so harshly that she nearly went ballistic.

By the time he finished, her cheeks had already puffed up like that of squirrels, and she left hastily in anger.

She was so pissed off!

Anthea suspected that he was a fake.

Last night, he was holding her in his arms, watching the stars and the moon, and saying that he would take her to camp and watch the meteor storm. But today, he, who suddenly kept scolding her harshly, looked like a different person.

Anthea's chest heaved convulsively.

She went back to the medical center in furious and threw her life jacket heavily on the ground.

"He has gone too far!" Anthea roared angrily.

Leonardo stepped forward and picked up the life jacket from the ground. He patted off the dust on it. Although he did not go to watch the scene of bustle just now, he had a rough idea of what had happened.

He said with a shrug, "Well, it's a shame to be

scolded in public!"

Not only did she feel humiliated, but also Anthea wanted to go ballistic!

"How could he treat me like this? I've just agreed to be his girlfriend for only two days, and he was so heartless that he lectured me while pointing at my nose. I can't endure him any longer!"

Leonardo listened to her rumbles of resentment but smartly did not echo her.

Once he chimed in, she would rage at him and ask him to stop criticizing Adam with her!

The more Anthea thought about it, the more she felt that Adam had gone too far. She snorted coldly and said, "Unless he apologizes to me and admits that he was wrong, I won't pay attention to him!" Leonardo made a bow with hands folded in front. "Well, if you can do that, you're a woman of guts!"

Anthea rolled her eyes at him.

In the evening, the red sun was already slanting to the west.

After Adam reprimanded Anthea, she had been staying in the tents of the medical site. She never went out and did not even go to the toilet.

Upon finishing her work, she sat there with her arms around her shoulder.

When the sun sank below the horizon, and the last glimmer of the sunset glow had disappeared, steady footsteps were coming over.

Anthea did not look up, but a pair of black military boots appeared in his line of sight.

She saw a pair of military boots stop before her.

Adam looked at the untouched milk and ham on the table and frowned. His voice was no longer as cold as before as he asked, "Why didn't you have dinner?" How could she in the mood to eat? She was full of anger!

"Aren't you hungry?" asked Adam with concern.

Anthea turned away from him and snorted to express her dissatisfaction.

Now the unpleasant look on her elfin face told him one important thing: she was still outraged!

Adam put his hands in his pockets and kept silent. After a while, he said in a low voice, "Come out with me. I have something to tell you."

However, Anthea sat there steadily, like a monk who had entered a meditative state.

"I'll be waiting for you under the tree, like last night."

As soon as Adam threw out these words, he strode out of the tent first.

Anthea looked at his tall back and gritted her teeth.

When he disappeared from her sight, she suddenly stood up, thinking that she had to go there and give him a chance to apologize and please her! As she walked out angrily, she saw Adam, who was waiting for her under the tree in the distance.

There was a burning cigarette between his fingers.

He was dressed in military uniform, appearing neat, even though his trouser legs were stained with mud. He was so well-built and looked heroic! Anthea, staring at him in a daze, felt her heart quicken.

When she remembered that she was supposed to be angry, she quickly pulled a long face again.

The look on Adam's face was very serious. He flicked the ashes in her hand and asked her, "Have you recognized what you've done wrong?"

His question astounded Anthea, who had endeavored as much as possible to assume an arrogant air with her arms around shoulders. After a stunned pause, she asked, "You're not here to apologize to me?!"

"No." Adam shook his head.

Hearing this, Anthea was struck dumb with anger. Immediately, she turned around and was about to leave.

Adam's large hand grabbed her.

Anthea, her cheeks puffing out like a frog, stared at him. "Why are you grabbing me? Do you want to scold me again?"

Adam did not let her go and even tightened his grip on her hand. "I won't lecture you, but I'll try to reason with you."

However, there was a saying that you could never reason with anyone unreasonable or your wife in anger.

Thinking of this, Adam could not help smiling.

As the gentle smile emerged on his face, his dark eyes began to sparkle. When Anthea saw his attractive appearance, her heart softened again beyond her control. Bewitched, she almost wanted to jump into his arms!

Adam pulled her closer and said seriously, "This disaster area is in the south, not the north where you're familiar with. You, a young girl, actually dared to drag a rowing boat into the flood with a child! Have you ever thought about what would happen if you were in danger?

"The village was situated in a low-lying area, so it was still surrounded by floods when the floods in other places had receded. When we received the rescue mission the day before yesterday, these villagers had been trapped there for more than ten days. Even in such a situation, they didn't dare to rashly go around."

"Besides, the village is just next to the mountain. Although it is not raining now, there could be a mudflow at any time. How could you go to such a dangerous place?"

"What if a gust of wind turned the rowing boat upside down? When you two would fall into the water, who could save you? You would kill not only yourself but the little boy whom you saved yesterday. At that time, no one would rush to save you, and it would be too late when I knew everything!"

"I..." Anthea opened her mouth but did not know what to say because what he said was true.

"You should have informed me or any other military man before you rashly went to save the cat with that little boy. You did this on impulse without considering the safety of yourself and others." Adam told her all the reasons he got angry, and Anthea found that she could not refute any of them.

It was true that she had not considered the matter thoroughly. Now that she thought about it, she admitted that it was indeed very dangerous. In floods, many unpredictable and dangerous situations might happen. Besides, she was not a soldier who was experienced in rowing the rubber boat, so she could not ensure tight safety. After all, she had only paddled a small boat for some time when in childhood. Adam explained everything with great patience, which completely changed her arrogant attitude.

Anthea looked down, lowering her long, curling eyelashes. Though convinced, she felt a little wronged.

Adam raised his hand and gently touched her cheek. Suddenly, he sighed. "Anthea, you are not alone anymore."

She was no longer alone...

It was because she had a dear love now. They were an inseparable couple.

In an instant, a warm wave of sweetness flooded her.

She felt comforted and delighted as if she had been offered a hot roasted sweet potato freshly baked in the oven on a cold winter night.

Adam asked her again, "Anthea, do you think you're wrong now?"

"Yes!" Anthea repeatedly nodded, as lovely as a pet dog. She snuggled into his arms, her delicate arms wrapping around his strong waist. Adam successfully appeased her, and she said, her

shoulders drooped, "I was wrong!"

If Leonardo had seen her being like this at this time, he would have laughed at her with widened eyes.

However, at this sweet moment, Anthea did not give a damn about her pride!
