Purchased A Mr. Right -
Chapter 1119
Anthea hastily halted her footsteps.
But it was too late. She tried very hard, while her body swung a few times, before she finally succeeded in avoiding collision with the man. However, now the distance between the two of them was very close, approximately a few centimeters.
Declan Schain turned around and saw that Anthea was very close to him. He was very amazed.
"Anthea?"
Anthea replied awkwardly. "Hiya, Declan..."
Declan saw that she was staggering, and reached out to support her at the first time. "Anthea, are you okay?"
"I'm fine!" Anthea shook her head.
"It's so dangerous!" Anthea thought.
Fortunately, she responded in time, otherwise, it would result in an even more awkward and embarrassing situation!
It was really hard to see the man clearly because of the darkness at night. Anthea had just mistaken Declan for Adam, and as there was no one else passing by, she tried to pounce on him without thinking carefully beforehand...
"You didn't get hurt on your ankle, did you?" Declan lowered his head and asked with concern.
"No... No... No!" Anthea shook her head like a rattle drum. She took half a step back and stuttered, "Ahem... Brother Declan, I was just joking a short while ago. I wanted to give... you a surprise..."
Declan waved his hand to show that he didn't mind.
Just now, he touched her hands, and they were so close to each other. He could smell the fragrance from her. Declan's face turned slightly red. "Anthea, how do you know that I'm coming to see you?"
Declan did come here to wait to see Anthea.
But when he was still hesitating and couldn't figure out how to ask Anthea to come down, he heard footsteps behind him. When he turned back, he suddenly saw Anthea's two arms hanging in mid-air, with a panicked expression.
Anthea tried to concord a good answer, "I just... came out to take a breath of fresh air..."
"Oh... That's how it is!" Declan was convinced by her answer and didn't suspect her anymore.
"Declan, what can I do for you?" Anthea asked.
"Nothing special... to tell you the truth." Declan's eyes flickered unnaturally. He then scratched his head and added, "Anthea, did you see Captain Chin during the military training? Isn't he your uncle-inlaw? I haven't expected that he would turn out to be the general instructor!"
"Well..." Anthea nodded shyly.
It was much more than "seeing her Uncle Chin"... In fact, Anthea had hugged and kissed her Uncle Chin many times...
The light was dim. Declan didn't notice the change of Anthea's whole expression. Instead, he was only harassed by his own uneasiness and hesitation. He asked tentatively, "Did Captain Chin tell you anything?"
Declan worried that as the uncle-in-law Captain Chin might have advised Anthea not to associate with him, or not to pay attention to any hint of admiration from him.
Declan felt that he might have to face the pressure from elders of Anthea's family, such as Adam, if he wanted to go after Anthea!
"Eh?" Anthea was stunned by his question.
"I was just... curious about it!" Seeing that Anthea was surprised, Declan let out a sigh of relief.
Declan then smiled shyly, took out a tube of aloe vera from his pocket, and handed it to her. "This is a gift for you, Anthea! I saw that your skin had become a little red because of sunshine during military training. This aloe vera can help you protect your skin! I know that girls like you will have skincare products, but this one is special. It was produced in my hometown. It works very well. You can have a try!" Anthea originally wanted to refuse his gift, but hearing that the aloe vera was produced in Declan's hometown, she thought it might be unpolite not to accept this gift. "Well... Thank you, Declan!" She took it and put it into her pocket.
"You're welcome!" Declan was happy to see that his gift was accepted by Anthea. He knew it was getting late. Although he really wanted to talk to her a little more, in order to behave like a gentleman, he said, "Anthea, I think it's time for you to have a rest. I won't bother you anymore. Good night!"
"Good night, Brother Declan!" Anthea nodded.
Declan then left. He turned around at every few steps and waved to her from time to time.
Anthea politely nodded her head as a sign of courtesy.
When the two of them were saying goodbye to each other, a tall and strong figure was coming over from not far away.
Adam's mobile phone suddenly rang at this moment. He picked it up and put it by his ear. Before he could speak, Carter's frantic voice came from the line. "Captain Chin, things are not going well. I have something very urgent to tell you!"
Adam applied for the transfer order suddenly, and handling of the relevant procedures was done very quickly.
Carter had been following Adam since he joined the army, and therefore he also wanted to come back after Adam was transferred back. However, the handling of the relevant procedures by Carter was a lot slower. Now he still hadn't finished them yet, and he would have to wait for a few more days before he could come back.
"Speak." Adam replied in a low voice.
Carter shouted anxiously, "Today I just heard that Declan Schain, the new recruit of our second squad, had been transferred to the north! And guess what happened? Declan was designated to be a military instructor of the medical college where Sister Anthea is studying! The wild boar is going to steal your cabbage again!"
Adam's black eyes narrowed and there was sharp light glittering in them. "I have seen him."
Then, he directly hung up the phone, leaving Carter talking to the air passionately.
As Declan went far away, and he finally stopped turning back to look at Anthea again from time to time. Only then did Anthea withdraw her sight and turned around. She suddenly saw a pair of deep eyes that looked like two ancient wells.
Anthea's heart almost skipped a beat.
She raised her hand and patted her chest to calm herself down. She then ran over to him. "Uncle! Nice to see you again..."
Adam's eyes swept across her face indifferently.
Anthea cautiously observed his facial expressions. But she could tell whether he was happy or angry.
Anthea thought that Adam should not have seen what happened just now, when she tried to pounce at a man supposed to be Adam by her, namely, Declan. She pointed to somewhere not far away. "There's no one else on the basketball court now. Let's go over there!"
"Okay." Adam said in a low voice.
The two of them took a road on the side and walked to the basketball court. There was no lamp light there, and the moonlight was shedding on them. The only sound that could be heard was their footsteps. Adam took out a cigarette and lit it. The smell of tobacco spread in the air, which was mixed with the aura of male hormones emitting from his body.
Just as Anthea was trying to break the silence, he suddenly said, "What were you doing with Declan
just now?"
Anthea almost bit her tongue and stammered,"... Did you see it?"
"You don't want me to see it?" Adam asked in a deep voice.
"..." Anthea put her hand on his forehead and was speechless.
Under the hazy moonlight, Adam looked stern and cold. Anthea could feel the domineering pressure from his heart.
She licked her lips.
Anthea didn't forget that Adam could even be jealous of the fact that she had done cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for a little boy. What if he saw that she was talking "intimately" to a young man like Declan Schain?
"I need to explain for it!" Anthea said as if she had a desire for survival.
Adam's eyes slanted towards her nonchalantly.
The look in his eyes seemed to suggest, "Start your performance, then!"
Anthea raised her hand and explained with a serious face, as if she was a defendant explaining to the judge in the court, "I mistook Declan for you. That's why I threw myself at him excitedly! But my reaction was timely. When I was about to hug him, I suddenly braked because I realized he was not you!"
As soon as she finished speaking, his sharp eyes swept over her hands.
Anthea's fingers suddenly curled up out of nervousness, and she added in a feeble voice, "Uh... He also helped me a little to stand firmly..."
Adam let out a cold snort from his nose.
White smoke was spat out from his mouth, and the moonlight shed on his thin lips. The atmosphere became a little cold.
Anthea's heart trembled a little.
Seeing that he seemed to be serious, she hurriedly ran to him and looked at him aggrievedly. "Are you really unhappy about it?" "What do you think?" Adam asked nonchalantly.
Seeing that his face was tightened, Anthea realized he was seriously unhappy about it. She then said affirmatively, "You're unhappy!"
She also knew that she was on the wrong side. Who told her to rush up to the man so eagerly without any proof that he was indeed Adam at that time?
Anthea stepped forward and touched Adam's military boots with her toes.
With her face raised, she grabbed the hem of his military uniform and pulled it back and forth. She could only act like a spoiled child. "Dear General Instructor Chin... How can you not be angry with me?" Originally, there seemed to be a burning flame of anger in Adam's stomach.
However, when he saw Anthea get closer to him and blinked her long and curling eyelashes, which looked like a fluttering butterfly, his heart became softened.
Under the bright moonlight, Anthea's palm-sized face was fair and delicate. His eyes were as clear as lake water, and her pink lips looked particularly tender. His flame of anger was instantly extinguished by her obedience and apologetic expression. Now, he only felt that his blood was boiling with desire and passion.
His Adam's apple moved slightly as he exhaled a mouthful of smoke. "Kiss me now."
