Purchased A Mr. Right -
Chapter 1147
When Adam came back, he saw her sitting there alone with her phone in her hands and a worried look on her face. He put his arm around her shoulder and asked, "What's wrong, Anthea?"
"Ah!" Anthea jolted and shook her head. "I'm fine. You're back!"
"Yes." Adam nodded.
He looked at her little face with concern, thinking that she wasn't feeling well or that something had happened to her.
Anthea took a closer look at his face.
The neon lights came in through the window nearby, and the light shadows on his handsome face. His deep-set black eyes were as deep as an ancient pool, and she was lost in them. She bit her lip and suddenly said, "Uncle-in-law, I don't want to go back tonight!"
"Do you want to go home?" Adam asked.
He mentioned last time that the place was their home and even gave her a key. He sounded very natural when he mentioned it now.
"Yes!" Anthea nodded and said, "The worst thing that can happen is that I'll have to run laps again.
Anyway, you'll be there with me!"
Adam laughed and caressed the top of her head.
Of course, he wouldn't have her run laps again.
He lied about her ankle being twisted when they left the mountain and could use that as an excuse, saying that she needed to stay in the hospital overnight.
Adam took her hand and led her out of the hospital. He took her to a restaurant for dinner first, and then they went back to his place in the living quarters of the army compound.
He turned on the light above the doorway, and the orange light gave the room some warmth.
The inside was still spotless, and the air was fresh. It felt as if they were a couple who had just come back from work.
When Anthea bent down to open the shoe cabinet, she saw a pair of woman's slippers on the shelf.
They were pink and had bows with polka dots on them.
She cried out in surprise, "When did you buy them?"
Adam smiled and said, "After you left last time, I asked the cleaning lady to get them for me."
Anthea put her feet in, and the size was perfect. She was over the moon when she wore them.
She now felt even more like the lady of the house.
They walked inside through the doorway. After having a glass of water in the living room, Anthea pushed the door to the master bedroom open without glancing at the guestroom. She marched into the room and switched on the light.
He didn't follow her inside.
"Why don't you come in?" Anthea turned around and looked at the tall man standing outside the door.
Seeing that he didn't move, she grabbed his hand and dragged him toward her. "What are you afraid of? I won't eat you!"
Adam sighed in resignation.
She should be the one who was afraid.
Adam let her drag him into the bedroom. He cleared his throat and said, "Anthea, are you going to sleep with me tonight?"
"Yes! It's not like we haven't slept together before!" Anthea nodded matter-of-factly.
Again, Adam was speechless.
He saw that she was checking him out, and her long eyelashes looked like little fans when she blinked.
It was as if she had come up with some naughty
idea.
Anthea did have an idea, but it had to wait until later when they went to bed.
It was just half-past eight, and the stars were twinkling outside. They didn't feel like sleeping yet.
The master bedroom included a study. There was also a separate area with a diatom mud wall that was used as a projection screen, where they could watch movies.
Thanks to the experience of the horror movie last time, Anthea picked a romance movie.
After taking a shower, she nestled in his arms like a kitten. The light was turned down, and they watched the scene of the couple standing on the bridge and laughing sweetly in the night wind.
The only sounds in the room were that of the movie and her crunching the chips.
Although it was a romance movie, she didn't expect that the ending was a tragedy.
Anthea's mood went up and down with the fate of the male and female characters in the movie. When she saw the two of them didn't end up together and were parted forever, she couldn't stand it anymore and burst into tears.
Adam wiped her tears with a tissue.
"Anthea," he called her name.
"Hmm?" Anthea's nose was congested from the crying.
Adam suddenly remembered what Leonardo had told him when he was in the disaster area.
Leonardo said that after she returned from the south, he went to pick her up at the airport. She cried for a day and a night, and her tears never stopped...
Adam suddenly felt that his heart had been poked with a needle. He pulled her closer and asked, "Did you cry for a long time when I rejected you a year ago?"
Anthea didn't expect that he would suddenly mention this, and she was stunned for a moment.
She searched her memory and pouted. "I did cry for a long time. I was so sad back then!"
At the airport, she held back her tears and didn't want to break down in front of him. But she was an 18-year-old girl who had fallen in love for the first time. The pain of losing him almost drowned her. How could she not cry?
"I can't bear to see you cry." Adam sighed and lowered his head to kiss away the tears on her face. "If I saw you like that back then, maybe I would have held your hand at the airport and not let you go." This was the first time he mentioned their feelings at that time.
In the disaster area, he told her that he wanted to be with her, and it had blown up her mind. All her pretenses collapsed in an instant, and she immersed herself in the joy of replaceing her love. She didn't know when he started having feelings for her.
Now that he had said that, did it mean that he was already wavering a year ago...
Anthea felt like there were bubbles in her stomach.
She felt both excited and regretful. She complained, "Why didn't you say so earlier?"
If he had told her a little earlier, maybe they wouldn't have to waste a year. Maybe they would be together as early as when she was at the airport!
Adam smiled and said nothing.
He had too many scruples at that time, and there were too many restrictions. If he hadn't been gone for a year, maybe he wouldn't have realized his regret and couldn't really face his real feelings.
He reached out and pressed her forehead to the softest spot on his neck.
The movie had ended, and the credits had rolled out. The two of them hugged each other.
Anthea poked his chest with her finger and tried to "threaten" him. "If you don't treat me well in the future, I'll cry!" "Alright." Adam agreed very readily.
He kissed her on the top of her head, but he didn't care about his answer because he wouldn't allow such a thing to happen.
The room was quiet, and the projector had stopped running.
He looked out of the window and found that it was deep into the night. The clock on the wall indicated that it was past 11 o'clock. Anthea yawned and stretched herself in his arms.
Even though she was already sleepy, her eyes were bright. "It's getting late. Let's goto bed."
