Purchased A Mr. Right -
Chapter 1196
Anthea suddenly slipped and rolled down from the hillside.
In winter, some snow in the mountains had not yet melted. When she rolled down from high above, the first thing she thought of was to protect her head.
Fortunately, the white down jacket on her was the same color as the snow in the field. Therefore, as the two hooligans looked down, they failed to see her. They thought she must have plunged to her death. They did not want to get involved in her death, so they stopped chasing her.
However, Anthea did not dare to stay there and wait for help. Who knew if the two hooligans would get back to rape her? What if they came back to look for her?
She scrambled to her feet, intending to replace the way back according to her sense of direction.
When she got up, she felt a throbbing pain in her left leg.
Although the ground was covered with snow, she only covered her head when she rolled down, and her left shin just bumped into a big tree.
She roughly checked herself. Her shin should be fractured, and the specific situation could only be known when she was in the hospital.
Anthea tried his best to stand up and picked up the branches to support herself all the way, staggering back with one leg step by step.
At this time, when she saw Adam, the fear in her immediately disappeared.
Feeling his warm body and male scent, Anthea immediately relaxed.
Adam knelt on the ground, holding her tightly in his arms. He looked her up and down with concern for fear of missing every detail.
In addition to the torn jacket that was wide open, the sweater inside was raveled. Besides, her collar was pulled open, revealing a large area of white skin near her collarbones. Adam could even see the lacetrimmed strap of her bra inside. Only at one glance, Adam could tell that it was the hooligans who tore her clothes.
Flames of wrath leaped in his breast.
Right now, he had the urge to kill the two hooligans.
Being a soldier, especially a soldier from special troops, was at high risk. It was because they often had secret and dangerous tasks. Sometimes when necessary, they had to kill.
Adam finally managed to bring his anger under control and quickly checked her with his eyes.
Her jeans below were still intact, which meant that no one touched her intimate part. Except for her miserable appearance, she did not seem to be injured, but her left leg was stiff. He did not know how serious it was.
Adam once again suppressed his urge to kill the two hooligans and held her tightly in his arms. 'Anthea, don't be afraid. I'm here!"
His face was distorted with his concern for her, and his eyebrows so deeply wrinkled made him look much older.
Anthea grimaced in pain. Yet she smiled at him with her two small dimples on her face. "Umm..."
She had absolute confidence in him.
Anthea knew very well that as long as he was by her side, she was fearless.
Because whatever happened, he would be there for her. Her small world under his protection would be full of sunshine and peace, and there would no longer be any storm.
With bouts of dizziness in her head, Anthea, who could not hold on there anymore, closed her eyes and fainted.
Before she lost her consciousness, she was lying on
Adam's sturdy chest, his strong arms around her.
She could not remember ever having felt so safe and secure!
Then Anthea was sent to a nearby high-ranking hospital in the city. Now, she was in the operating room.
It was quiet in the corridor. At this time, the setting sun outside shining through the windows made a lot of rosy halos. Adam stood up there, as quiet as a statue. He looked so severe and unapproachable. "Ding!" Someone arrived by the elevator.
Carter, dressed in a military uniform, walked out. He did not have a playful expression on his face as usual. Instead, he was rather serious.
Upon seeing Adam, Carter looked even more serious and strode toward him.
The next second, the operating room slowly opened, and a doctor in a white coat wearing a mask came out.
Adam suddenly strode forward.
Though he walked to the doctor without showing much expression, anyone near him could feel the gloomy and cold aura around him and the tension in his heart.
"Doctor, how is it going?" Adam asked in a hoarse voice.
The attending doctor took off his mask and comforted him, "Relax. Her life is not in danger! Her head must have been hit, so she is suffering from a slight concussion. But it's not serious. She'll be fine after a good rest!"
As soon as Adam heard that her life was not in danger, he was relieved.
When Anthea passed out, he was absolutely terrified.
Adam touched her head and found a large part of her head swelled up. Since he did not know what exactly she had gone through, thinking that her head was severely hurt, he was extremely scared. The attending doctor continued, "At present, the injury of her left leg is much more serious. It seemed that she had gone a long way after her shin was broken! Fortunately, it didn't completely break, so I didn't use a steel plate to fix it and just put her shin in a cast!
"This patient is still young, and I believe she will recover very well! As long as she can do what I suggested her to do and there is no fracture displacement, she'll heal soon!" "Thank you!" Adam nodded. After the attending doctor left, the door of the operating room was pushed open again.
Anthea, lying on the hospital bed, was pushed out by a nurse. There was a needle attached to the back of her hand. Her elfin face became ghastly pale at this time, which was her look feeble. Nevertheless, she was as beautiful as a falling angel in Adam's eyes.
Adam followed the nurse and sent her back to the ward.
Seeing that she was sleeping soundly, he walked out of the ward. Carter, who had been waiting for a long time in the corridor, immediately stepped forward.
"How is it going?" Adam asked, slightly squinting his eyes.
After giving him a salute, Carter said seriously, "Captain Chin, all the people involved have been caught and are now detained in the local police station! They are complete hooligans. After being taken to the police station, they confessed everything and made their statements. I have brought a copy! Later, I will go back to take them directly to the military department!"
Adam took the record and quickly raced through it.
Then, his eyes became even colder and more piercing.
He jutted his strongly defined chin out, and his dark eyes shifted from the document to Carter. His face was still indifferent as his fierce and ice-cold voice came through his throat. "Teach the two animals a lesson."
Carter knew what he meant - Adam was asking him to punish them as harshly as possible.
Carter's expression changed from cold to ice-cold, which made him a different person. He nodded respectfully and said, "Captain Chin, you can rest assured. I know how to do it properly!"
Adam nodded. He seldom praised Carter, but he patted him on the shoulder with relief at this moment.
It did not make Carter any happier. He stood up and said, "Leave the rest to me. Just go take care of Mrs. Chin!"
"Um." Adam nodded.
After Carter left, he returned to the ward again.
The sun, at last, went down. Compared to the south, it usually becomes dark sooner in winter in the north. Not long after the sunset glow disappeared, the street lights went on one after another. Anthea woke up at eight o'clock in the evening.
She felt that the top of her head was a little swollen, but her head did not hurt much.
As a medical student, Anthea could figure out why she fainted. She must have had a slight concussion, at least. It seemed that her left shin suffered more.
She looked down and saw her plastered leg up in the air.
She moved a little.
Almost instantly, Adam held her hand and his warm thin lips fell on it. "You're awake?"
