Purchased A Mr. Right -
Chapter 853
Simon put one hand on his waist and held the phone with the other hand. The window glass reflected his face. He frowned with concentration and he said frostily, "Find the manager to tell him that he must tighter security at the floor you live. And tell security guards and other staff that if Sean appears again, don't let him go upstairs and call the police immediately! You'd better lock your door. It's late, no matter who comes, don't open it again!"
After hanging up the phone, Simon turned around and saw her stood there looking straight at him.
He was a little surprised and strode toward her. "Are you done?"
"Yes!" Emily nodded and handed him a towel.
Simon seemed to have just noticed that his hair was still dripping. Seeing her stare at the mobile phone in his hand, he explained honestly. "I just called Addy and told her to take extra security precautions. I am afraid that Sean will harass her again at night!"
"Oh!" Emily replied in a low voice.
She lowered her head as she handed him the towel, but she felt a little uneasy.
At half past nine in the morning, the news van of the TV station stopped at the private hospital.
After saying thanks to her colleague who drove the car, Emily opened the car door and walked into the outpatient building. She had just finished an interview task in the morning, so she directly came over for a routine prenatal examination.
The elevator went straight to the floor of obstetrics and gynecology. Many pregnant women were waiting on the benches in the corridor.
Emily found an empty place to sit down.
The director was fully responsible for her pregnancy. She had already made an appointment for today last time she did the examination.
However, she did not call Simon. She believed that his tall and straight figure would appear in a few minutes. After all, he always cared about the child more than she did.
She was half an hour early for her appointment.
A pregnant woman with a massive bump in the front was also waiting for the examination. She held a knitting needle in her hand, sewing some dolls for her unborn child. Emily's gaze sharpened, and she unzipped her bag.
She took out all the knitting needles and wool balls inside. She was clumsy than Simon. She had been knitting for three days, but only finished one little sock. Now she was working on the other one. Usually, she packed those in her bag. When she was free at the lunch break, she would knit to kill time.
As soon as Emily pinched the top of the two needles, someone behind her shouted, "Emily!"
Upon hearing the voice, she turned around and saw Anthea, dressed in a doctor's coat, was walking toward her. Anthea said with a smile, "I assisted the obstetrics and gynecology department two days ago to perform an operation for a pregnant woman who had an acute gastrointestinal hemorrhage. I came here today for her inspection sheet, and then I saw you! Emily, do you come here for the prenatal examination?"
"Yes!" Emily took her hand and asked Anthea to sit next to her.
The white coat added to her beauty. She wore no make-up, not even a dab of lipstick, but she was ravishing and gracious with a stethoscope hanging around her neck. Presumably, any male patient would spare no efforts to see her.
After sitting down, Anthea looked around and asked in surprise, "Where's Dr. Chin? Why doesn't he accompany you?"
"I guess he'll be here in a while!" Emily smiled.
"More than three months, right?" Anthea raised her hand and touched her belly beneath the clothes.
A rush of pure affection swept over her and she couldn't take her eyes off Emily's belly.
Emily didn't look pregnant. Even now, her stomach was still flat, but she could feel subtle changes had taken place in her body.
"Yes!" Emily nodded and shared her happiness with her bosom friend. "Next month, I can see the baby's gender ultra-sound radiography or color ultrasonic diagnosis! I can take any result. No matter son or daughter, I will love him. But Simon prefers a daughter!"
Hearing this, Anthea laughed in a low voice. "Maybe men love daughters!"
Emily didn't ignore the word men she said. She pursed her lips and asked with hesitation, "Anthea, you and Adam... were you okay that night?"
"I'm fine!" Anthea paused for a moment and then shook her head. She gave a mocking smile as murmured melancholy, "What can we do? He's my uncle-in-law. An illicit love affair will never go public!" "..." Emily frowned.
She was right...
Unlike Wilson and Tina, it would be much more difficult for Anthea and Adam to be together for they were separated by an unbridgeable gap.
As the heavy, brooding silence descended on them, Anthea dropped the subject. "Emily, are you knitting baby's socks?"
"Hmm!" Maybe it came to the child, Emily quickly cheered up. She nodded with a smile and replied, "But I'm a slow learner. I often forget what to do next while knitting. Look, I've already forgotten how to make a lace here!"
As soon as she finished speaking, she lowered her head and looked at the two needles worriedly.
After she tried for a long time, she still made no progress.
She had no choice but to ask Simon for help later!
However, thinking of the rewards he had asked for after helping her, Emily bit her lip and blushed.
When she was about to give up and put those things back in her bag, Anthea, who was next to her, reached out and took the knitting. "Give it to me!"
Like her, Anthea held the top of the two needles, hooked a thread on her pinkie finger, and then she knitted skillfully. Watching this, Emily widened her eyes and whispered, "Oh, Anthea, when did you learn that?"
She remembered that they had manual training lessons in primary school. They had been sitting together since they were first-grade students. Whenever they were assigned to make handiwork, they would look at each other worriedly. Then they would force a little boy sitting next to them to help them.
So, now she was really surprised to see that Anthea knew how to knit.
Anthea looked up at her with a smile, but she didn't stop. "It's easy. Emily, look here. Run the thread around here. Isn't it a lace?"
The little sock, which she didn't know how to knit the lace part, was almost done in Anthea's hands.
Emily was amazed. Anthea's action was so skillful as if she had knitted many times. She blinked her eyes and said without thinking, "Did You knit clothes for a child?"
Hearing this, Anthea suddenly turned pale.
Emily asked blankly, "Anthea?"
