Purchased A Mr. Right
Chapter 859

Hearing this, Simon walked to the door and stopped to look at her with a faint smile.

Emily felt a little embarrassed. Thinking of what he said when she woke up, she gritted her teeth and said, "Why are you looking at me? The baby in my belly is hungry!"

"Okay, you win!" Simon's lips curled up.

After a quick shower, Emily came to the dining room. A substantial breakfast had been laid out on the table.

Two perfectly fried eggs were on the white porcelain plate, and she quickly ate one. While she was chewing, she saw the sunlight slant down from the window, flooding over the dining table like ruffled it into yellow silk sashes.

She sat up idly and didn't know what to do on her unexpected day off.

Simon was thinking about asking for her another sick leave of some days so that she wouldn't burn herself out.

After a while, Emily looked up at him and said, "Simon, I have a day off today. I want to stay at home in the morning. After lunch, we can go to the riverside..."

She was cut off in midstream by the sudden ringing of the phone.

Emily bit back the words she would like to have said and glanced at the phone on the dining table like him.

Simon looked at the glowing screen and then put it next to his ear. "Hello, Anson?"

Emily lowered her head again and continued to eat the other fried egg on the plate.

She had met the Anson before. After their divorce, Simon signed the apartment over to her. She was called to Anson's office to sign a document. Now the lawyer was introduced to Addy for her divorce case. Anson kept saying as Simon listened carefully and occasionally responded.

In the end, he sat up straight a little. "Addy's there? Well, you two talk first, I'll meet you later!"

After hanging up the phone, Simon put the phone back on the table.

At the same time, Emily stopped what she was doing. She raised her head again and asking coldly, "Simon, are you going out?"

"Mn!" Simon nodded.

Emily pursed her lips. The hearty meal had given her a good appetite, but now, looking at the tasty egg in the white porcelain plate, she suddenly took a dislike to it.

Thinking of what she had just said, Simon asked with a smile, "Emily, you just said that you wanted to the riverside in the afternoon?"

"Are you going to help Miss Swan again?" Emily didn't answer him but asked back.

Simon nodded and said honestly, "Well, Addy..."

"Bang-"

All of a sudden there was a terrific bang.

It wasn't that deafening, but abrupt.

Emily flung the bowl onto the table, got up and walked back to her bedroom with a grim look on her face.

Simon was startled. Immediately after, he stood up and lengthened his stride to keep up with her.

Emily walked so fast that he failed to touch her before she slammed the door shut. He was caught completely unawares and almost smacked into the door.

Simon regained his balance and opened the door. The one inside was lying on the bed like she did yesterday, but at this time, she was covered with a quilt so that her face couldn't be seen. Only tendrils of hair strayed to the edge of her pillow.

He gently closed the door and came to the bed.

Unable to throw back the covers, Simon lay beside her. He placed a hand on her shoulder and propped himself over her on an elbow. "Mrs. Chin, are you jealous again?" he asked in a low voice with a hint of mockery.

Beneath the quilt, Emily almost broke down when she heard his teasing words.

Did he think that she was just jealous?

He tapped the quilt lazily with his slender and long finger. "Oh, my girl is so possessive about me! May I feel flattered?" "Cut the crap!"

Emily suddenly threw back the covers like how she did to the bowl.

Her fringe was all awry. She couldn't bear it anymore and said frankly. "Simon, I'm in a foul mood now. I don't want you to stay with Miss Swan all the time!"

First, he stood her up when he promised to watch a movie with her. Then, he was too busy to accompany her for the prenatal examination. After that, he didn't show up when she needed him...

He betrayed her trust over and over again.

The languid look on Simon's face gradually disappeared. He kept silent for two seconds, then he slowly explained, "Emily, I've told you before, Addy... saved my life. I'm just doing this to pay the debt of gratitude!"

He didn't lie, but in addition to repaying her kindness, he did so for feelings of guilt seared him.

Whether Addy chose to marry Sean in a hurry, or their marriage went downhill due to Addy's past, he should be blamed for those tragedies...

Emily pursed her lips, but she didn't say anything.

Simon fixed her fringe bit by bit and put his hand on her head as usual. "Are you full? Do you want me to bring the meal to here?"

"I'm full!" Emily replied frostily.

How could she still have the appetite right now!

Like dust, her mixed emotions were drifting high. She could not calm down at all. She looked away, turned over, rolled herself up in quilt like a silkworm, and angrily said, "If you must go, go now!" As soon as she finished her words, she closed her eyes.

Then, she felt Simon holding her from behind. There was a moment of excruciating silence in the room. Neither of them spoke, nor did they move. They were all lying on the big bed.

She didn't know how many seconds had passed, but she heard a faint sound.

Instinctively, she wanted to turn her head around to see what was going on, but in the end, she didn't move.

The silence continued until he said slowly. "Antenatal training is vital for improving the intelligence of infants. In recent years, modern medical research has proved that the pregnant woman's diet also affects infant's intelligence..."

Emily:"..."

He began to read the book about pregnancy as if he tried to soothe her anger in this way.

Emily didn't say anything. Instead, she just let him lie behind her and read one page after another patiently.

As time went by, he had read half of the book in a twinkling of an eye. Simon's Adam's apple was slightly moving. His throat felt dry, but there was no glass on the bedside cupboard. He wanted to kiss her and moisten his thin lips with saliva.

He leaned forward and saw that she fell asleep.

A smile touched the corners of his mouth. He was afraid that he might wake her up, so he carefully took away his big hand around her waist. Then, he lowered his head and press a kiss on her lips.

He closed the book, got out of bed, put on slippers, and walked back to the dining room.

The windows reflected the bright afternoon sunlight. The meal had gone cold. Simon used the water dispenser to get himself a glass of water. He took the mobile phone left on the dining table, unlocked it, and found dozens of missed calls on the screen.
