Purchased A Mr. Right -
Chapter 862
Emily glanced across him and then turned sideways to put the bowl on the cabinet as if he was invisible. She immediately released it, lay back beneath the quilt in silence, and then closed her eyes. Simon saw that she didn't hand it back to him, but he didn't say a word.
He thought that since the soup was digestible. Though she was full now, she might be hungry in the evening. So he put the lid on the lunchbox so that she could eat more any time later.
He pulled over the chair and sat next to the bed.
She lay on the bed without saying a word. Under the shaded light her expression was difficult to read.
Not long after breakfast, she slept for a while. After taken to the hospital, she slept for nearly three hours. How could she still feel sleepy? Hearing her uneven breathing, Simon knew that she did not fall asleep. He leaned forward and held her hand beneath the quilt. "Emily!"
She made no reply, but Simon knew that she was listening.
He clenched his fist and put it against his thin lips. After a moment of silence, he said, "After you fell asleep, I actually..."
"Simon, you don't have to explain anything. I know. What you want to say is that you owe Miss Sam a lot." Emily interrupted him evenly with her eyes closed, but her eyelashes trembled slightly.
He owed her much more than...
His eyes betrayed his incomparable inner struggle.
His Adam's apple bobbed, and he could only hold her hand tightly and put her hand against his thin lips. "Their divorce case will be settled soon. After it is done, I won't contact Addy anymore... And after the judge divorces them, she will leave for Newley City!"
"Mrs. Chin, trust me, trust your husband, okay?"
He said in an appealing tone on the final words.
Husband was a sacred word, so they hardly mentioned it.
Emily didn't reply, but her eyelashes trembled.
The ward relapsed into silence. The window opened a crack through a refreshing breeze came in, and dispersed the smell of the disinfectant.
After two minutes, Emily opened her eyes slowly and stretched out her hand to him. "Help me to the bathroom!"
Hearing this, Simon immediately stood up from the chair.
Simon put his arm around her waist and pushed the infusion support with the other hand. When he pushed open the door of the bathroom, she turned back and glared at him. "Wait outside the door. Don't come in!"
After that, she pushed the infusion support into the lady's room.
The door banged shut. Simon rubbed his nose, dejected.
The dinner was still sent by Ms. Weil, the female nurse. Being specially instructed by Simon, she bought the most enjoyable and nutritious meal in the canteen.
Emily suspected that he did it on purpose. She didn't want to let the nurse down, so she ate a lot as she did before.
In fact, all she thought was that she couldn't starve her child.
Night fell. After the matron's inspection, the lights in the ward were turned off. Dim light spilled from the windows on the corridor side. In the emergency room, they could hear the footsteps of the hospital staff from time to time.
As soon as Emily closed her eyes, she felt someone threw back the covers beside her.
She didn't need to look back. She knew it was Simon.
Sure enough, soon, his arms were wrapped around her waist. She could feel his chest was pressing against her back. Every texture was familiar to her. As his steamy breath touched the back of her neck, Emily bit her lip and said, "What are you doing?"
"Sleeping!" Simon pressed his handsome face against her neck.
Like a clingy dog, his body matched hers perfectly.
She gave him a jab with her elbow and tried to get him out of her bed. "It's so cramped. Sleep on your camp bed!"
Simon didn't intend to move at all. Instead, he held her more tightly. He put his thin lips on her ear and whispered, "I can't sleep alone without you and our baby!"
He sounded pitiable and eager to please her.
She felt the warmth of his hands on her lower abdomen and her heart was melted by his words.
The next morning, she was discharged from the hospital.
Simon drove the black Cayenne home. When they arrived, he bent down to unfasten her seat belt. "I've called Tina in the morning. She will help you ask for sick leave. You don't have to work in the next week!" "Whatever!" Emily gave a grunt.
Seeing that he followed her into the room without any intention of going back to the hospital, she didn't ask him about it but put on her slippers and walked into the living room.
She picked up the remote control, turned on the television, and flicked through the channels in a search for something to hold her interest. Although she didn't want to watch it, she had to replace something to do. Simon, who was following her, handed her a glass of lukewarm water as usual.
After she finished it, he reached out to take the glass and put it on the table. Then he leaned over and sat down next to her with his legs crossed. Her right hand tapped twice on his knee. After a short vibration, the phone screen lit up.
Simon put his upper leg down and leaned towards her. "Well, the designer sent me the 3D effect graphs of our child's room!"
"Really?" Emily turned around in surprise.
They had been to a design firm before, where they hired a young designer and told him their requirements. They finally got the design.
"Yes." Simon nodded and put the phone between them. He pointed at the picture on it and said, "Come on. Have a look. What seems to be the problem? We can amend it!"
In fact, it was not the designer who initiated to send it to him, but he had just sent a message to the designer, asking him to send the 3D effect graphs now.
Emily bit her lips. After a while, she couldn't help pointing at it, "Change the position of the bed, or it will be inconvenient to open the door, and the color of the curtains is too dark. I prefer a lighter one..." "Okay, as you wish!" Simon's lips curled up.
"That's all." Emily nodded.
She took her eyes off his cell phone to glance at the study.
Simon suddenly said, "Wait for me!"
Then he stood up from the sofa and walked out of the living room. When he came back, he held a pile of things in his arms.
When Emily saw it, she widened her eyes in shock. "Simon, why did you buy so much wool?"
Yes, the pile in his arms was nothing but colorful balls of wool.
When she was interested in knitting before, she wanted to knit something for the baby in her belly as him and bought a lot of balls of wool. However, what she bought wasn't compare with the pile of balls which was several times more than hers.
Only then did Emily understand why he had parked his car at the side of the road. He went to buy wool...
