Purchased A Mr. Right -
Chapter 866
Simon was relieved to hear her words and smilingly said, "Okay, I'll ask Ms. Weil when I get back to work!" "That's good." Emily nodded.
The traffic lights turned green. After about five or six minutes, the apartment building appeared in their sight.
Before she stretched out her hand, Simon had already leaned over to help her unfasten her seat belt. She touched the car handle and said, "Simon, I'm going up. Be safe on the way back to the hospital!" "Mn!" Simon replied in a low voice.
The second before Emily opened the door and got off the car, her elbow was gently grabbed by him.
She turned around, and at the same time when he kissed her on the forehead, she gently closed her eyes.
A chaste kiss.
Then, Simon let go of her. Emily opened the door and got out of the car. She walked to the building but stopped halfway and looked at the black Cayenne driving away until it disappeared. Then she shook her head and pushed the glass door open and went in.
All her doubts had now dissipated.
"Maybe I'm just being paranoid..."
The supermarket was filled to overflowing on the weekend.
Emily moved her elbow and tried to pulled away from him. He pushed the shopping cart with one hand and put his arm around with the other hand. "Get off me!"
After all, most of the customers in the supermarket were elders, and she would feel a little awkward when others occasionally looked towards them.
Hearing this, Simon retorted, "It's too crowded. Be careful not to get hit!"
Hearing what he said, Emily stopped struggling and slowly walked with him side by side.
When they arrived at the produce section, there were more people in front of the shelves. Simon was afraid that someone might bump into her belly, so he found a relatively uncrowded place and asked her to stand there and wait for him.
Emily yawned as she strolled around. She looked at his towering figure being surrounded by many middle-aged women and thought that he was the sort of person who stood out in a crowd.
Two children suddenly ran by with two colorful pinwheels in their hands, laughing. They might twins. She couldn't take her eyes off them until they ran to the beverage section. "They're so cute..."
It was in almost every mother's nature. When she was carrying a baby, she came to see the world in a new light. She always loved to see adorable young kids.
Emily looked up and was a little taken aback.
At the end of the shelf, a male customer was selecting wine, and he looked like Sean.
At this time, someone suddenly patted her on the shoulder. Emily subconsciously leaned to one side and saw an old aunt with a bottle of Ocean Spray. She might have presbyopia and she asked, "Girl, I can't see it clearly. Can you take a look at it? What percentage of juice it contains?"
Emily helped look at the label on the bottle and replied, "Contains six percent juice!"
"Okay, okay, thank you!" The woman thanked her and put the beverage in the shopping basket and went away.
When she looked back again, the male customer in front of the shelf had disappeared. Only the twins and a young couple who were selecting champagne were there.
She only glimpsed at his face, so she didn't really see how was he looked like. Maybe she was wrong. She didn't take it seriously, after all, there were millions of people here.
Simon came back with the vegetables. Seeing her standing there in a daze, he asked her what happened.
Emily shook her head. "No, I'm thinking about what to eat tonight!"
It was late, and the room was filled with the smells of delicious foods.
When Emily came out of the bathroom after
washing her hands, Simon dished up a superb meal. She pulled a chair and sat down, but did not see Simon coming out for a long time while his apron was draped neatly over the edge of the table. Just when she was puzzled, the tall figure walked out of the kitchen.
Emily's lips moved slightly and she was about to ask why he didn't sit down. However, she saw that he frowned with a haunted look in his eyes.
As she looked down, she saw the mobile phone and the car key in his big hand. Maybe he had just taken them out of his trousers pocket.
She asked in surprise, "Simon, are you going out?"
"Mn!" Simon nodded.
Seeing her staring at the phone and car key in his hand, his Adam's apple bobbed slightly.
After a hesitation, he bit back the words he would like to have said. There was something indefinable in his eyes. He said, "It's a call from the hospital. I have to deal with an urgent case!" Hearing this, Emily frowned and looked at the meal on the table. "Would you like me to wait for you to have dinner together?"
"Don't wait up!" Simon said.
"Oh!" Emily nodded.
She walked to the chair and sat down with her head down.
Out of the corner of her eye, she saw that he passed by, then he entered the living room and picked up the coat on the arm of the sofa, and then strode toward the door. She could hear the sound of him wearing shoes.
After a while, she heard footsteps behind her.
Simon saw that she looked dejected, so he turned back in his leather shoes and leaned over to hold her shoulder. He pressed a kiss on her eye, and said in a low voice, "It's nothing serious. I'll be back in an instant. Emily, wait for me at home!"
"Okay, got it!" Emily nodded.
Simon kissed her on another eye and then left with the car key.
She heard the door shut.
Emily picked up a fork and impaled a lump of meat it. As she chewed and swallowed slowly, she twisted her head sideways and looked towards the door.
She didn't know if she was too sensitive and suspicious, at this moment, her sixth sense told her that the caller should not be a staff in the hospital...
She tightened her grip on the fork, sunk in a violent inner struggle. Finally, she made a decision. She put down the fork, got up, grabbed a coat, and hurried out of the door.
Coming out of the building, she just saw that the black Cayenne was running away.
Emily walked down the stairs and saw a taxi coming from behind. Some neighbors were whisked off in it and deposited here. She held out her hand to stop it, then opened the door and got in. The taxi driver in the front turned back and asked her, "Miss, where are you headed?"
Emily took a deep breath, pointed to the front and said, "Please stay with that Cayenne!"
The taxi driver seemed to be very familiar with this kind of request. Without asking anything, he stepped on the accelerator directly and followed the black Cayenne at the entrance of the neighborhood. In the process, Emily couldn't help but put her left hand to her chest tightly. Perhaps because it was the first time she did this, her heart raced uncontrollably, as if it was about to jump out of her skin.
