Purchased A Mr. Right
Chapter 931

Emily asked carefully, "Calvin, aren't you angry?"

Calvin held her hand with a bright smile and said, "There's nothing to be angry about. I feel released that you didn't regret our engagement. Although we failed to hold the family meeting, we could arrange it again soon. It might be a little troublesome, but it's not a problem for me!"

"But your parents..." Emily said worriedly.

"Don't worry, I will explain to them!" Calvin gave her a comforting look and continued to tease her, "What's more, they are more worried that I can't replace a wife than being stood up!"

Emily knew that he had said that on purpose to lighten her guilt.

Although Emily had not much emotional foundation with Calvin, she always felt quite relaxing with him.

She said earnestly, "Calvin, thank you!"

Calvin smiled gently when he heard that but said helplessly, "Emily, don't you think you have thanked me too many times?"

"Did I?" Emily was stunned.

Calvin just smiled and said nothing.

As the night fell, lights were on.

Upon hearing a sudden noise from the bed, Emily, who was sitting at the writing desk and receiving the email, immediately turned around and asked, 'Anthea, are you alright?"

Anthea came back in the evening. She did severa operations in succession and got very tired. After she finished eating, she lay down without taking a bath and soon fell asleep. Then she suddenly sat up and swallowed mouthfuls of saliva with her forehead and face covered with cold sweat.

After hearing Emily's voice, she came to her senses gradually, shook her head, and said, "I am okay. I just had a nightmare!"

Emily stood up and handed Anthea a glass of water on the bedside table.

Anthea took two sips of wine and asked after being silent for two seconds, "Emily, do you often dream of your unborn child?" "Sometimes..." Emily answered in surprise.

Even if she had overcome the difficulty and accepted the fact that she lost her child, there was always a scar in her heart. Occasionally, when she dreamed at night, she would dream of it.

"I just dreamed of mine. It seems to be crying as if complaining why I didn't want it!" Anthea buried her face in her knees as if she was still immersed in her dream and could not wake up from it. Emily went over and gently hugged her. "Anthea, let it go. It's all over. You'll have another child in the future!"

When she lost her unborn child, people used to say the same words to comfort her. And it also seemed that there were no other words she could say to comfort Anthea.

Hearing this, Anthea shook her head and said with her voice trembling, "The doctor who did the miscarriage surgery for me said that my uterus was damaged, and it would be very difficult for me to get pregnant again. Maybe I will never be able to be a mother in my life!"

Emily was astonished, feeling bitter in her heart.

It would be too much of a blow to a woman unable to be a mother. She suddenly thought of something and couldn't help but ask, "Anthea, you said that you and Adam are destined to have no future, apart from your identity... Is this also the reason?"

Anthea's body stiffened slightly. After a long while, she said in a low voice, "Adam likes children very much."

Emily sighed, "Anthea, you're too tired from your work. Don't think about anything. Go back to sleep!"

Anthea nodded, lay down, and closed her eyes.

Soon, Anthea fell asleep sound again. Emily carefully covered the quilt for her. It was getting late, and she also intended to go to bed early to rest. When she got up and wanted to go to the bathroom to take a bath, her mobile phone rang.

Not wanting to wake Anthea, who had just fallen asleep, she quickly walked out of the bedroom.

When Emily saw the caller ID on the screen, she frowned right away. Gritting her teeth, she hung up the phone.

Two seconds later, the phone rang again. Simon was calling again.

Emily hung up the phone again. This time, Simon didn't call again. When she thought that he gave up, the screen was on again. Instead of calling, Simon sent a text message. "Answer the call!"

Right after that, another message came, "I have something to tell you! Something very important!"

After Emily finished reading the second message, Simon called for the third time. For fear that she missed something important, after hesitating for a while, she picked it up and asked, "Hello, what's the matter?" "Finally you answer my call," Simon's low and deep voice sounded.

When Emily heard his lazy voice, she said directly, "If there's nothing important, I'm hanging up!"

"Don't you dare to hang up!" Simon scolded her and rushed to the topic, "Wylma is getting married!"

A confused look crossed Emily's face. Feeling confused, she asked, "Wylma? Is it the nurse in your department?"

"Yes!" Simon continued to say, "You introduced them to each other, remember? Now they are getting married and want to invite both of us to their wedding the night after tomorrow! Moreover, both Mr. Weil and Wylma are very grateful to you as their matchmaker. They want you to go to the wedding badly!"

When Emily was at grandma's funeral, she had met Wylma. Because of the event at that time, she didn't talk too much to Wylma although she wanted to ask about the follow-up of Wylma and Mr. Weil's relationship. Now she felt surprised that the two were getting married.

It would be improper for Emily to decline the invitation since Wylma and Mr. Weil were so sincere. Emily said in a low voice, "Okay, I'll go!"

On the evening of the day after tomorrow, Emily came out of the elevator.

Because the wedding was a more formal and festive occasion. Emily wore a beige knitted shirt, white wide-legged pants, flat shoes, showing only a small part of her ankles.

The wedding ceremony was set in the evening because Wylma and Mr. Weil were not from Ice city. The traditional wedding had been held in their hometown two days ago. Tonight, it was more of a thank-you banquet for their colleagues and friends in Ice city.

Emily walked out of the building. From a distance, she saw a black Cayenne parked there.

Leaning against the black Cayenne, Simon was smoking a cigarette and slightly raised his head as he breathed out a puff of smoke, looking at her through the white smoke.

Emily frowned and asked, "Why are you here?"

Simon flicked his cigarette ash into the trash can next to him and opened the front door lazily, "I'll take you to the wedding!"

Emily didn't intend to get in his car but said, "No, Calvin is coming to pick me up!"

"Who?" Simon frowned and asked.

At this time, a brown BMW slowly drove over and honked.

After stopping, the door of the driver's seat opened, and Calvin's voice came, "Emily!"

Emily passed by Simon directly and walked straight to the BMW.
