Purchased A Mr. Right -
Chapter 993
The sun rose and set, and everything went on as usual.
The wedding was all arranged by Simon. There were not many things that required her to do, and she was glad to stay idle. All she needed to do was to wait for the wedding and become Simon's bride. The setting sun cast an orange glow over the city when Emily and Simon came out of a wedding company.
They held some newly-made invitation cards, which were all delicately made. The designer must have lots of effort into making them. After hearing their loving stories, the designer drew a red heart and put two "S" in it. The "SS" looked like two vivid goldfish, representing Emily and Simon. There was also an "SS" pattern on their wedding rings.
The design meant that they would be together and would never separate from each other.
In the digital society, people usually used E-mail invitations. A simple small program could send invitations to every guest. That was why personally hand-written invitations were more meaningful.
Emily glanced at him and said, "Honey, are you going
to invite Calvin?"
After they got the invitation cards, Simon began to write them. Emily noticed that the first invitation card he wrote was for Calvin.
"Of course!" Simon curled his lips lazily.
When Emily saw his triumphant smile, she could not help rolling her eyes.
What a wicked guy!
When they walked to the Cayenne by the roadside, a military jeep stopped nearby. Then, Adam, dressed in military uniform, got out of the car. He was still wearing a military cap, which made his serious face look more stern.
There was a yellow kraft paper bag in his hand. It seemed that he was here for business. After all, the City Hall was next to the office building.
Simon said, "Adam!"
When Adam saw them, he frowned and asked, "Have you finished making all the invitations?"
"Yep." Simon's lips curled up.
Adam's gaze swept across Simon and then landed on Emily. "Has Anthea ever contacted you?"
"No..." Emily shook her head and replied honestly, biting her lips, "The wedding day is coming soon, and I want her to come! I can't get in touch with her, and I haven't heard any news about her!"
Adam said in a calm tone. "Okay. I see."
It seemed that he still had something to deal with, so he did not say anything more. He nodded to say goodbye and strode to the building nearby.
Emily sighed as she looked at his muscular back.
After thinking for a while, she took out her cell phone again. Although Anthea had turned off her phone, Emily still sent a message to her, inviting her to attend the wedding.
The wedding was held in the Pearl Church on Bally Island.
The island was far from the city's hustle and bustle. The place had the right climate and pure, sweet air, like a fairyland.
The church was located on the sea cliff in the south, and people could overlook the ocean from it. Its two symmetrical sides had an irregular structure and were surrounded by transparent glass curtains. Like its name had suggested, the Pearl Church was like a pearl left on the beach.
The wedding was set to be held at dusk.
Their wedding ceremony on the island was not a grand one, but it was very poetic and romantic. Simon and Emily flew here with over a hundred close friends and relatives by a chartered plane. Together, they would witness the romantic moment of this couple.
At this time, the bride's lounge was bustling with noise and excitement.
Emily's aunt and cousin were busy running around. Wendy and Tina, her best friends, were also here.
Wendy, no longer in a low spirit, was all smiles. Her husband, Mr. Hogg, did not really die but was saved, and now they had a new member in their family.
Tina was also going to have her second child. The baby in her belly was about five or six months old, so she was able to take the plane and attend her wedding. But Wilson was still worried about her and the baby, so he followed Tina closely. Now he was frowning and coaxed Tina into taking some rest outside.
Emily was wearing a pure white wedding dress, sitting in front of the mirror. The off-the-shoulder wedding dress with flounces sleeves was elegant and perfectly outlined her well-proportioned body. Her makeup and hair were not very complicated -she just had a few simple braids and wore a light green flower ring on the top of her head, which made her look fresh and elegant.
Emily took a deep breath and let out a long heave. She nervously expected the beginning of her
wedding ceremony.
Her phone screen suddenly lit up, and Emily looked down and slid it open.
The message was from Anthea! No one knew where she was now, and she replied with only one word: Okay.
Emily revealed a light smile. Just as she was pondering over it, a familiar male aura suddenly wafted over her head, accompanied by a low and deep voice.
"Sweetheart, are you tired?"
She looked up and saw Simon, dressed in the wedding suit, standing in front of her. There was a corsage on his chest showing that he was the groom. Emily felt that her handsome husband looked so gorgeous with the suit and corsage!
She smiled brightly. "I'm fine!"
Although she had been busy since she got up this morning, it seemed that she did not mind being a little busier at her wedding!
Seeing her eyes lingering down on the phone, Simon raised his eyebrows. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing serious!" Emily shook her head and looked at the sun setting in the west. The wedding ceremony was about to begin. She could not help feeling a little disappointed and said, "It seems that Anthea won't come to attend my wedding..."
Simon touched her head with his big hand to comfort her. At this time, his phone rang, and he went to the innermost window with one hand in his pocket to pick it up.
Knock! Knock! Knock!
Someone knocked on the open door, and a thin man walked in.
He was wearing a black suit, which seemed to be loose on her. Perhaps it was because the man had a slim figure. On her head was a strange hat. His face was tanned and, and there were many freckles on his nose and cheekbones. Besides, Emily noticed a big mole on the right side of his face.
He went straight to her side and praised, "You are so beautiful!"
Emily did not invite many people, so she thought that he must be a Chin family relative. She smiled politely and replied, "Thank you!"
She thought he just came in to say hello, but she did not expect that he directly sat down beside her.
When the man held out his hand to touch her, Emily frowned and asked, "... What are you doing?"
"Haha, Emily, did you think that I'm a giddy man who came here to harass you?" Seeing her nervous expression, the man could not help bursting into
laughter.
Emily suddenly opened her eyes wide.
She looked the "man" up and down, and the next second, she covered her mouth in surprise. "Anthea?!"
"Haha, yes, it's me!" said Anthea cheerily.
Emily looked at her unbelievably and complained, "Anthea, I thought you wouldn't come here!"
"How can it be? It's your wedding! How can I not come to witness the most important moment of your life?! That would be very mean!" Anthea took her hand and excitedly said, "Emily, you're so beautiful today!"
Emily was amused and smiled. Then she asked, "Why... Why did you disguise yourself like this?!"
If she hadn't taken the initiative to call her name, Emily would not have recognized her at all!
"I have to disguise myself to come here!" Anthea winked at her.
She had to disguise herself...
Emily certainly knew that she did all of this only to avoid Adam, Simon's eldest brother.
