Rain: Book 3 of Playing for Keeps -
Chapter 33: Facing The Rage
We all expected to face the rage of our women when we got back to the bar. Instead, it was very quiet. Too quiet. The woman were sitting at their table. They looked over as we walked in the door then turned away from us. We were getting the silent treatment. I was looking at Donna when I felt a sting on my face. I looked down at Star. You dumb son of a bitch. How could you Beast? First, you tell Donna, no and now you meet up with some woman. And don't tell me you did not know her. You of all people know what it is like to feel unloved, used, and unwanted. Congratulations brother. You made Donna fell all of those emotions.
I watched as my sister walked away from me. Then I saw Donna say something to a prospect. I figured she was getting coffee. I watched as she took a bottle from her pocket and took pills from it then she put them in her mouth and swallowed them. What is Donna taking? I looked at Donna worried. Migraine Rain asked her? A really bad one. Go to bed. I will check up on you later tonight. I have the extra key Donna. That way Beast can't get it when he replaces out you moved to that room. I looked up at the prospect who sat my coffee down. Donna, I am sorry about what Beast has done. I shrugged my shoulders. I should have expected it prospect. It is nothing new to me. But this time I learned my lesson. Do not open your heart again. And just go outside the club when you have an itch. I picked up the cup and walked down the hall to my new room.
Well, it looks like Beast is not only getting the silent treatment but the cold shoulder. I unlocked the door and walked in. I closed it and locked it. I walked into over and turned the small lamp on so that I did not have a bright light shining. I turned on the TV and sat my cup down on the end table before sitting down in the small rocking chair that seemed to be just right for me. I opened my phone to the pictures of CJ's and looked at Beast. I then looked at all the women. It seemed like I knew them but I cannot think of where from. I will look at them later but right now my head hurt too bad. I drank my coffee letting the pill do its job.
I leaned back in the chair and watched the "Dead Files". I love this show. I turned the TV off and carried my cup and put it in the sink. I then walked to the bedroom and put on one of Beasts T-Shirts before climbing into bed. I closed my eyes and fell into a dreamless sleep. I did not hear the door open or Rain walk into the bedroom and shine a flashlight on me. I stood and looked at Donna's even breathing. Satisfied she was alive I walked out of her bedroom. She did not want anyone to know that she is my oldest sister. My half-sister. Donna did not want the club members to think she was getting privileges. Rage knows that Donna is his sister in law though.
