Chapter 86

When Yasmine came out of her bedroom, she found that Yonas bad already left. On the dining table were two servings of

breakfast.

After freshening up and having breakfast, Yasmine applied more burn ointment to her injuries. Yoselin was still asleep.

While she was pondering Yoselin's condition, an unknown call came in.

She answered the phone in confusione "Hello?"

A chuckle came from the other end of the phone, followed by Lena's voice, "Can't you recognize my voice so soon? I didn't get a chance to ask about your situation after the competition yesterday. How's the burn?" "Ms. Langston. I'm feeling better. It's not too painful now, just still red and swollen. I've just applied the burn ointment. You're leaving soon, right?" Yasmine replied.

She remembered Lena was supposed to stay for only seven days and today was the last day.

Lena replied. "Yeah, tonight's flight. I have a meeting scheduled for midnight back there."

"So soon?" Yasmine was a little surprised.

Lena laughed and said, "Yeah. There's a lot to discuss when I return to the country, but Soucrity also has many excellent psychologists and experts offering diverse perspectives. It's worth trying" Yasmine glanced at the time and said, "Ms. Langston, do you have time now?"

There was a brief pause on the other end before Lena replied, "I'm at the Oakridge Hospital. I'll be free after the meeting here. What's wrong?"

Yasmine replied, "Yoselin... Her situation is not very good, so I want to communicate with you."

She felt that Yoselin's current situation was a little tricky.

Lena replied, "Okay. Here's the thing. The meeting will be end at around three o'clock. And I'll be available for an hour

"Thank you," Yasmine said. After hanging up the phone, she noticed that Yoselin had woke up and was standing behind her, staring at her blankly.

"Yoselin, are you awake?" Yasmine wasn't sure how much of the conversation Yoselin had heard.

To her surprise, Yoselin walked over and quietly sat beside her, starting to have breakfast without responding.

"Yoselin?" Yasmine called out with concern.

"Yasmine, did they all leave?" Yoselin asked fearfully, looking around.

Yasmine was taken aback and responded, "Yes, they've all left."

Yasmine, let's hold on a little longer. Yonas will come to save us. Don't let them hurt you, Yoselin said. Her eyes were red and fixed fearfully on Yasmine's injured leg. It was only then that Yasinine truly felt that something was wrong

She carefully observed Yoselin and asked, "Yoselin, who are they? There's no one around us now, just the two of us. If you tell me quietly, no one will hear."

But Yoselin just shook her head and said, "No, I can't say that. I can't."

Her voice grew louder, increasingly erratic, and Yasmine hurriedly tried to calm her down. She said, "It's okay. You don't have to say anything Yoselin, just have breakfast. I won't get hurt Yoselin finally calmed down and continued eating her sandwich, though her eyes remained fearful, as if she was afraid of something that might attack them at any moment. Yasmine was relieved that Yoselin was at least behaving better than she had the day before.

By nearly three in the afternoon, Yasmine took Yoselin to the Oakridge Hospital. Lena had just finished her event, and the three of them casually found a café near the hospital entrance. Lena's assistant waited outside the private room, while inside, the server brought three cups of coffee.

Yoselin nervously clutched Yasmine's sleeve, keeping her head down and staring at the coffee on the table.

Lena glanced at Yoselin with curiosity. She knew Yoselin was unwell but had never seen her in such a state before. When Yonas had asked Lena for help with Yoselin, Yoselin had always been stable and not in such a condition Yoselin had lost the arrogance and liveliness she had displayed the day before. Such a drastic change in just one day was striking.

"Have you considered that she might have been triggered by something?" Lena asked softly.

Yasmine looked worriedly at Yoselin and said, "Yesterday, when she saw my burned leg at my house, she reacted like this. Her emotions were even more intense yesterday. She was terrified of everything, and it took a lot of effort to get her to sleep.

"I think I understand. She must have experienced trauma in the past, and her current reactions are trauma-induced stress responses. The psychological aspect might be more significant. Since she was previously traumatized, she's now reliving that environment and struggling to escape it Lena thought for a while and speculated.

However, Yasmine had another question. She said, "If she's reliving that past environment, and it makes her terrified of unfamiliar things, even her brother, why does she show such unconditional trust and reliance on me, even though we haven't known each other long?" What she meant was that Yoselin shouldn't have trusted and relied on her so much.

Lena frowned thoughtfully and said, "I think you might be focusing too much on the trauma she experienced. For people with psychological disorders, symptoms can vary greatly, and their perception of time and space can become distorted."

Yasmine suddenly understood and said, "I understand what you mean now."

She had been puzzled by the issue, forgetting that for those with psychological disorders, their sense of time and their mental state can become disoriented.

Yoselin's trust and reliance on her might be an attempt to merge the two worlds in her confused state of mind, pulling Yasmine into that distorted perception of time.

Lena added, "However, given the severity of her condition, treatment might be a lengthy process. My suggestion is to use both medication and psychological intervention simultaneously including occasional guided stimulation. Help her understand that she is safe now and bring her back to reality."

"I will," Yasmine agreed.

Lena noticed Yasmine's limping gait and said. "I saw you were limping. Let me take you back later."

Yasmine nodded, glancing worriedly at Yoselin, who was now fixed on the coffee cup and stirring sugar into it.

She said. "Yoselin, adding so much sugar will make it too sweet.

But Yoselin didn't respond, continuing to add sugar stubbornly. Her hand began to tremble, spilling sugar everywhere.

"Yoselin?" Yasmine grew anxious. She hadn't informed Yonas about bringing Yoselin out and hadn't brought the pocket watch either.

Lena also felt uneasy. She tried to calm her voice and said to Yoselin, "Yoselin, you're safe now. Nothing will happen..."

As Lena's voice became increasingly soothing, Yoselin's hand began to steady. Then she abruptly threw the spoon aside and shouted, "Yasmine! T
