Chapter 106

Chapter 106 I Do Not Like It

Eric should have clearly understood that when he chose to reveal his true self and be honest, it wasinevitable that we would end up in a situation like today.

He does his own thing, and I live my own life. We don’t interfere with each other. By the time he fullytakes control of the Swan family, I may have already left Hulbury.

“What good will come from arguing with me?” Eric looked at the cup on the ground. It didn’t shatter. “Idon’t want to repeat myself. Go back to bed!”

Eileen stood motionless at the door. The cold wind blew in from outside, filling the wide folds of herclothing, making her feel a bit chilly. A wave of pain began to emanate from her lower abdomen onceagain.

Just then, the nurse’s voice broke the tense and strange atmosphere between them.

“Why did you get out of bed? Are you not in pain anymore? I heard you two arguing from the hallway. As an older brother, can’t you be more considerate of your sister? Girls tend to be short-temperedduring their periods. Hurry up and clean the floor. The doctor will be here soon for a check-up. Ifeverything’s fine, you can be discharged from the hospital.”

Eileen said softly, “Thank you.”

“Please lie back down. We don’t want you to get sick again.”

Eileen brought in a mop from outside and cleaned the floor. She didn’t expect him to do such things.

Truth be told, she wasn’t in that much pain anymore. It was just the first day that was particularly toughto endure.

After the doctor examined her again, he called for Eric to come over.

Inside the office, the doctor pointed at Eileen’s CT scan with a grave expression. “Since you’re a familymember of the patient, I won’t sugarcoat this. During yesterday’s examination, we discovered anabnormality in the patient’s uterus. If we perform surgery now to restore it to its original state, it’sunlikely to be successful. We suspect that the patient’s uterus could potentially be diseased, possiblyeven cancerous. Fortunately, we’ve detected it early, so we can still perform surgery to remove it. If wewait any longer, the cancer cells might spread and metastasize. At that point, the patient’s treatmentmight involve more than just a hysterectomy. Considering her health condition, our recommendation isto proceed with the surgery as soon as possible. However, you should be aware that this might result inher being unable to conceive in the future.”

There wasn’t much emotion visible on Eric’s face as he said, “I understand.”

“Then discuss with the patient and schedule the surgery.”

Eric didn’t give the doctor any reply. He just got up and walked out directly, his face gloomy.

As he stepped into the ward, he heard the joyful voice of a young girl. “The soup that you make is themost delicious in the world, Sharon.”

“I’ve only been away for a few days, but I can tell you haven’t been eating properly. You look thinnerthan when I left.”

“No way. You must be mistaken. I’ve always been like this. Being skinny is the beauty trend now.”

Sharon scolded, “To me, you look good no matter what. From now on, you’re not allowed to be pickywith your food.”

Leaning on Sharon’s shoulder, Eileen enjoyed the soup fed to her. “I’m not picky. Mary’s cooking is asdelicious as yours. I can eat two bowls every day.”

“You should eat more. It’s good for you. All you do is make me worry when I’m not around.”

Sharon was well aware of her situation at home. It was she who had introduced Mary to the Swanfamily. They were from the same hometown, straightforward in character. Whatever happened at home,Mary would tell her everything without holding back. Eileen didn’t eat much to begin with, but now thatSharon had left, she was eating even less. Sometimes, she wouldn’t even have dinner.

Sharon watched her grow up. How could she not worry whenever Eileen fell ill or got hurt?

In this lifetime, she never had a child of her own. In her heart, she had long since treated Eileen as ifshe were her own.

“Should I tell Mr. Snow to let me come back and take care of you?”

“No need to trouble yourself. There are too many rules at home. It’s not as comfortable as Eric’s home. It’s the same with Mary. Most of the time, I eat at the school cafeteria. I rarely eat at home.”

Sharon let out a sigh. “Every time you come home from school, you have to eat a bowl of the raviolis Imake… I’ve already taught Mary how to make them. Even if I’m not around, you’ll still be able to eatthem. You won’t have to go hungry in the middle of the night.”

Eileen nodded. “Your culinary skills are always the best. I will never get tired of the raviolis that youmake. I can eat them for a lifetime.”

“You’re such a sweet-talker!”

Not long after, Sharon left. Eric handled the hospital discharge procedures.

Sitting in the car, Eileen held a hot pack against her lower abdomen, gazing out the window.

“Could you do me a favor and just drop me off at school? Thank you.” Her tone was indifferent anddistant.

After a while, Eileen realized that this was not the way back to school at all, but the way to UndellaMansion.

She furrowed her brows. “Even if you take me home, I’ll return to school on my own later. Instead ofwasting your time on me, you might as well save yourself the trouble.”

“You don’t get to decide if you want to cut ties with me.” Eric gave her a cold look. “If you don’t want tosuffer, you’d better behave. I don’t have that much patience for you.”

The car turned at the traffic light.

Eileen held the hot pack in her hand, looking down and remaining silent.

“Please, don’t tell Father about my health condition yet. Once I get into Hulbury University, I’ll have thesurgery myself. I’ll tell him when the time comes.”

Eric remained silent. Eileen added extremely humbly, “Consider this as a favor I owe you, all right?”

If Will were to know earlier that she was infertile, she might not even have the chance to attenduniversity. She would be regarded even more as a useless burden, and her fate would be even moretragic.

Indeed, if that were the case, Will would tightly restrain her with chains, and her life as she knew itwould come to an end.

“Are you pleading with me?” Eileen nodded. “Yes.”

“If you’re requesting a favor, you should have the appropriate attitude… What will I gain if I assist you?”

“You can decide, as long as it’s something within my capabilities.”

“Does that include your physical self?” he playfully teased.

Eileen widened her eyes, her face filled with shock, her heart trembling uncontrollably. “Eric… do yourealize what you’re saying? I’ve just reached adulthood… I’m your sister!”

“That wasn’t what you said when you were trying to win me over before. Are you afraid now?”

Eileen was trembling with anger all over. She clenched her teeth and remained silent.

When they arrived at the entrance of Undella Mansion, Eric parked the car, leaned over, and releasedher seatbelt. Eileen moved back slightly but couldn’t avoid him.

His deep, captivating voice echoed in her ear. “Remember to remove the lock. I don’t like it…”

With a gentle touch, his hand glided over the fullness of her chest.

She felt as if an electric current was coursing through her body.
