Chapter 199

Chapter 199 Do We Look Like Siblings?

With Jasper’s instructions, no one dared to say anything about Eileen leaving. Instead of attendingthese banquets with Will, she would prefer to be with Jasper. Will was afraid of the Smith family andabsolutely did not want to offend Jasper.

With that, Eileen set off for Seatown at ten in the morning and arrived around half past eleven, just intime for lunch.

The driver dropped her off in front of a high-end restaurant.

“Ms. Eileen. I’ll be leaving first. Mr. Jasper will escort you home later.”

“Alright, thank you for your help.”

“Not a problem, Ms. Eileen.”

Seeing the familiar car, Fabian stepped forward and opened the passenger door. Eileen, carrying herchain purse, got out of the car and pulled her jacket tightly around herself.

Fabian informed her, “Mr. Smith is waiting for you inside. I’ll leave the two of you alone.”

Before entering, Eileen asked, “Have you finished your business negotiations?”

Fabian smiled. “We’re already in the final stages. It’s not a big deal if Mr. Smith isn’t there to join us.”

Eileen nodded. “Alright, thank you.”

In truth, she was also worried that her arrival might cause trouble for Jasper. She thought that if he wasbusy, she could spend time exploring Seatown on her own.

Walking into the restaurant, Eileen spotted Jasper sitting on the couch. His head was slightly lowered,as if he was texting someone. She approached quietly and took a seat opposite him.

ordered?” “Sir, is the person you’re waiting for not here yet? Why haven’t you

Upon hearing the voice, Jasper put down his phone and poured a cup of tea for her. “Perfect

She’s just arrived. Mr. Smith is a laid-back yet wealthy man. Order whatever you like”

A few waiters brought over some appetizers and also presented two menus.

“What are these?”

Jasper said, “It’s something for you to snack on.”

Eileen casually ordered a few dishes but made sure it wasn’t too much, as she didn’t have a bigappetite.

However, they might have to take the leftovers with them, as too much food had been ordered.

Jasper watched as Eileen enjoyed her meal. Watching her eat was also a kind of pleasure for him. “Iheard you did well on your test this time.”

“It’s not too bad. After solving so many math problems, it doesn’t feel that difficult.”

“Try to eat less cold food. The weather hasn’t warmed up yet. It’s easy to get sick.”

“Alright, I’ll have one last bite.”

On business trips, Jasper tended to eat wherever convenient, seldom visiting such restaurants. Heenjoyed a quiet environment and didn’t like to be disturbed while eating.

Even the orders were Fabian’s idea. If he had known earlier, he should’ve ordered less food.

Sure enough, Eileen was already eighty percent full.

So much so that for the steak that followed, Eileen only had a few bites, and the rest end up in Jasper’sstomach.

If she were at home, Eileen would certainly not behave so unrestrainedly.

However, it was different with Jasper. She knew that he would indulge her.

“Have you finished eating?”

Eileen nodded contentedly. “I’m full. Where should we go

next?”

“I’ve had Fabian send your change of clothes to the hotel. Let’s take a walk together to aid digestion.

Jasper reached out his hand, and Eileen understood his intention. She handed him the bag she washolding. With the bag in his left hand and holding her with his right, the two of them.

left the restaurant.

As he was getting ready to pay, he suddenly heard a gentle and pleasant voice. “Mr. Smith? What acoincidence. We meet again.”

Eileen followed the direction of the sound, not knowing which esteemed family’s daughter she waslooking at. The woman’s skin was as smooth as silk, her every frown and smile. perfectly tined, while

she moved with an elegant demeanor. Eileen didn’t recognize this. woman, but she did recognize theperson standing next to her.

It was Benjamin Raker, her classmate and the top student in the entire grade.

Eileen looked at Benjamin, and she could easily guess that those two were siblings. Their facialfeatures were similar, and it was apparent at first glance.

When Benjamin met Eileen’s gaze, Eileen nodded in greeting, and Benjamin responded with

a nod in return.

Jasper merely glanced at Elizabeth, not saying anything. Instead, he noticed Eileen’s gaze. “Do youknow each other?”

Eileen honestly said, “This man here is my classmate.”

Jasper’s brows relaxed.

The cashier pulled out a bill. “Here is your bill, sir. Please take a look.” She then asked, “Are the four ofyou together?”

Eileen was about to speak when Jasper’s voice, cool and detached, cut in. “We’re not.” As he finished,he slightly turned his body. “My wallet is in my pocket.” His voice was noticeabl gentler than before.

Elizabeth smiled to ease the awkwardness. “We’re at table number 12. Could you ple how much it is?”

“Alright, please wait a moment.”

Eileen understood and reached into his coat to pull out a black wallet. As she opened the wallet, sheimmediately saw it-a photo of her. It was the one-inch picture she had taken while temporarily wearingher school uniform. Eileen was born with natural curls, but found them troublesome to manage, so shehad them permed into waves. Later on, she ended up cutting them short.

“Which card?” Eileen didn’t know that her photo was in this wallet, and with people watching nearby, she felt her ears growing hot in embarrassment.

“Any of them will do.”

Eileen casually drew a card. Unnoticed by her, Jasper’s eyes flickered momentarily, an emotion thatquickly vanished into nothingness,

After settling the bill, the four of them walked out of the store together.

Tm surprised the CEO of Smith Corporation can be so forgetful. We’ve talked before at the lastbanquet,” said Elizabeth as she shifted her gaze to Eileen. “Is this your younger sister?”

the scowl on his face. Elizabeth immediately laughed to lighten the mood. Im sorry. It was amisunderstanding on my part.”

“Ms. Raker, you have been persistently bothering me. Is there something you need?” His tone wasslightly cold.

Elizabeth paused for a moment, then shook her head. “I just saw you and wanted to say hello, There isnothing more to it than that.”

“Is that so? But I don’t know you very well. It is not appropriate for a man and a woman to be too close.Next time… Ms. Raker, it would be best if you kept your distance from me. I have no patience forpeople I am not familiar with. Moreover… my girlfriend is here, and I don’t want someone insignificantto cause unnecessary misunderstandings between us.”

Elizabeth’s face darkened slightly. Even with her extreme restraint, she couldn’t bear Jasper’s

words.

Those words seemed to insinuate something, prompting Elizabeth to continue the

conversation.

Initially, Elizabeth’s attempts to strike up a conversation were met with indifference by Jasper. He hadno intention of engaging with her. On the contrary, he wanted to dista himself from her.

Now that she was approaching him again, she had essentially crossed his boundar

He wasn’t interested in women who threw themselves at him.

Besides, he already had Eileen.

Jasper left with Eileen, leaving behind a very upset Elizabeth.

Jasper opened the passenger door, and Eileen got into the car.

While in the car, he explained himself, fearing that Eileen might misunderstand something.

Eileen gave a slight smile. “I trust you.”

The voice heard on the phone last time. It must have been hers.
