Chapter 43

Jennifer was stunned. She had spent two years in Ardonia and could speak basic Ardonian, and her pronunciation was excellent.

She repeated what she had just said, but Roger still looked confused.

Roger then added, "I'm not feeling well. I need a doctor."

Mistakenly assuming he had understood her, Jennifer grabbed Roger's hand and smiled brightly. "Mr. Schneider, hello! It's an honor to meet you!" Roger could understand those words, and his face darkened, brows furrowing in anger.

Natalie nearly burst out laughing at Jennifer's misunderstanding. She knew Roger had a short temper, and Jennifer was about to get a taste of it.

Suddenly, Roger erupted, pushing Jennifer's hand away. "If you don't understand me, could you just move aside? And if you're not right in the head, please go see a neurologist." "Ah!" Jennifer stumbled backward, landing in Easton's arms.

Natalie couldn't hold back her chuckle any longer. Jennifer shot her a dark glare, while Easton gave Natalie a warning look, signaling her to avoid trouble.

Fuming, Roger turned to Maurice, the only person he knew in the room. "I need someone who actually understands me to assist," he grumbled. Maurice didn't understand him but looked to Natalie for help, trusting her.

Smiling, Natalie stepped forward. "My apologies, Mr. Schneider This young lady isn't with us. If you're feeling unwell, I can help-I'm a doctor."

Natalie's fluent Ardonian took Jennifer by surprise. She had no idea how Natalie, who hadn't even finished high school, could speak a foreign language. Remembering her earlier "advice" to Natalie, Jennifer's face flushed with embarrassment.

Easton's eyes widened; he hadn't expected Natalie to speak Ardonian, either.

Roger breathed a sigh of relief, a faint smile appearing on his face. Finally there was someone who understood him.

He'd arrived in a rush, bringing only his assistant along, but the assistant had fallen ill.

This partnership was crucial, and he liked Maurice-young and accomplished-as a potential business partner. He hoped finalize the deal and return home as soon as possible. "Thank you, young lady. You're truly beautiful!" Roger praised warmly.

Natalie felt a little embarrassed by the compliment. "Thank you, Mr. Schneider, that's very kind of you."

Roger was delighted with Natalie's polite manner and smiled broadly at her. "You're such a warm-hearted kid."

Natalie knelt to check Roger's pulse and found signs of weak digestion and high blood pressure. Suddenly, she looked at in surprise. "Mr. Schneider, do you have a malignant tumor in your brain?" Roger's gray-blue eyes widened in astonishment. Young lady, how did you see that? Just from checking my probe? Your traditional medicine here is truly remarkable"
