Nick was startled by her words. He narrowed his eyes, looking at her dazed expression, and immediately lost interest. He lay back, feeling frustrated-it wasn't easy to get himself going at his age. But with Wendy, he usually didn't have that problem; her figure was flawless.
In contrast, Jennifer's mother had gained weight over the years and wasn't as vibrant or beautiful as before. Yet she was his childhood sweetheart, his first love, the one who still stirred his heart. "It wasn't Jennifer," he said lightly. "Natalie is behind this. Jennifer is so kind; she'd never do something like that."
He, too, found it strange that those two men would turn against them despite being paid.
Wendy sneered. She'd been utterly foolish, joining Nick, Jennifer, and her four sons in constantly punishing her own daughter.
Every misunderstanding and insult had been pure agony for Natalie, a living nightmare.
Wendy knew all too well the pain of being misunderstood; she'd experienced it herself.
Natalie had endured far too much. Thinking about the suffering her daughter had endured all these years, she wanted to slap herself.
Natalie was her own flesh and blood, yet she'd never once truly believed in her. Now she'd broken her daughter's heart beyond repair, and Natalie no longer wanted anything to do with her mother.
Wendy knew she had only herself to blame. It turned out everything had been Jennifer and Nick's scheme, even enlisting her four disappointing sons. None of them amounted to much, and they hardly ever came home. Wendy's eldest son, obsessed with car racing, poured most of his company's earnings into the costly hobby.
Looking back now, Wendy found Nick had never really supported their sons in any meaningful way. Instead, he'd simply let them waste their potential.
It was terrifying to realize what kind of father would deliberately ruin his own kids.
Suddenly, a horrifying thought struck Wendy. Nick must have a son out there, a secret child.
That was the only explanation that made sense-for why he was determined to ruin her children and her.
Jennifer would eventually marry and leave, so Nick had to have another son outside the family.
Wendy felt an intense wave of anguish but then heard Nick's snoring. Without hesitation, she sat up, grabbed her pillow, and went to the guest room to sleep. Nick, dead to the world, didn't notice Wendy's departure.

Easton returned to the villa, greeted only by endless darkness. Without Natalie, the villa felt filled with nothing but -emptiness.
He slumped onto the sofa, rubbing his forehead in frustration. How much longer is Natalie going to keep this up?""
A bitter smile crossed his face-this once-coldhearted man now found himself missing her. The realization left him feeling at a loss.

He sat there in silence for a long time before finally switching on the lights. He hadn't eaten dinner, and a dull ache was building in his stomach. He got up and opened the refrigerator, only to replace it completely empty.

Chapter 64
"Hello?" Easton's voice was subdued, his tall frame casting an imposing figure in the hallway.
"Easton, I'm back. Let's meet up. Maurice is here, too. You know him, right? He just got back as well. It's a good chance for everyone to catch up," Wesley said.
Easton's eyes narrowed slightly at the mention of Maurice. He agreed, "Send me the address."

After ending the call, the address appeared on his phone. He arranged for Xavier to drive him. Back in his room, he changed into a comfortable, casual outfit before heading to the bar.
Forty minutes later, Easton arrived in a private lounge at an upscale bar-a place designed to balance intimacy with luxury. Each room was meticulously styled, merging the bar's classic elegance with unique character, offering a sense of refined exclusivity. Easton saw many rich young men in Shagrity here. As Easton entered, everyone stood to greet him respectfully.
Wesley was tall, six-foot-two, with sharp, handsome features that radiated a touch of mischief-a stark contrast to Easton's composed and reserved demeanor:
Maurice, much like Easton, had a calm, introspective nature but occasionally revealed a hint of unrestrained defiance, giving him an air of mystery.
Sitting to the side, Maurice nodded in acknowledgment at Easton, then returned to his phone.
Wesley had met Maurice during a few meals overseas, where they had hit it off.
Seeing Maurice absorbed in his phone, Wesley teased, "Mr. Chambers, that smile on your face and the fact that you're glued to your phone...could it be you've got a girlfriend?"
When Natalie was around, the fridge was always fully stocked. Now, there was nothing but an unpleasant odor wafting fr
