Chapter 87: An Insight within each Other

"Why not introduce yourself first, Mister? Since you just practically appeared out of nowhere and I don't remember someone like you attending in this academy neither as a student or a staff member."

Francis almost snorted at the blatant statement coming from this woman and she even had the audacity to act as if she never knew him.

'Well, technically, both her and I had never known with each other in this current timeline so it's understandable that she would act like she never knew me before.'

It would be suspicious enough if Lorraine knew someone like him while in front of the Grand Duke since in the current timeline, from what he knew is that the Chevaliers (both the Grand Duke and the Count household) is now backing her up and from Francis' perspective, both parties would benefit from it.

Lorraine Fowler, as someone who is from a commoner background without a backing would end up being orchestrated from the nobles since she is a commoner, and they would take advantage of her because of her rare bloodline power that is said to be coming from the Heavenly Goddess as it's related to light attribute.

In the previous timeline, since she was favored by six male leads, including Francis since he was an instructor in the academy that time, Lorraine might have suffered discrimination and humiliation because of the attention she got from the other male leads, she was being protected by all of them, like how should be in the original script.

'In my opinion, Lorraine is wise to make a decision to allied with the Chevaliers since even though they were only a Grand Duke household that masquerading as a Marquis, but their strength and authority are almost on par with the Royal family, compared to a mere Crown Prince that could be replaced at any moment.'

He thought as he thinks about the current state of affairs of the Empire and within his surroundings.

In the current timeline, from what Francis had gathered during these past three years, the events that transpired within the academy differs from what should have happened in the previous timeline.

For example, the Crown Prince of Stellarus Empire.

He was supposed to attend Lumen Academy and study in this place. He was supposed to be a member of the Student Councils as well but because of what Eclipse had done three years ago where he fake his death but leave some evidence that could point out the Crown Prince for his involvement in that incident, many events had changes since then.

Up until now, the Crown Prince is still in his solitary confinement for three years and there was no saying about his release from the confinement.

'I don't know about the current status of the Crown Prince's situation, and it makes me wonder how the Crown Prince's maternal family side, the Duke Marfa household, stayed silent for the past three years.'

The Empress' natal household, the Duke Marfa household, as one of the most prominent households within the Imperial faction of the Empire, for them to stay silent after that incident, Francis felt that something is odd around here.

There is no way that the Duke Marfa household would stay silent like this, even the Crown Prince's mother, the Empress, from what Francis knew about was when that incident happened for the Crown Prince to be the primary suspect for Ezekiel's sudden demise, she just stayed quiet and never made a fuss about it.

'Which I replace truly odd. Very odd, if you ask me.'

"Normally, I would be on guard just meeting someone like you who just appeared out of thin air without any trace of its presence, but I noticed that you held no hostility amongst us and not only that, but my skill detected that you're practically safe to be converse with. What do you think?"

Francis snapped from his thoughts when he heard what Lorraine said to him and he suddenly remembered about this woman's bloodline power.

'So, she is practically letting out one of her cards right in front of me that much? I don't know what she is scheming at right now but from my experience with her from the previous timeline, I am much more in a complicated situation when it comes to her.'

He thought as he raised an eyebrow at her while Lorraine looked back at him with a smile as she titled her head sideways.

Francis took a deep breath and then looked at the other person who wasn't talking from the start and only observed him calmly, but Francis could tell that he was on guard.

'Well, I can understand him to be on guard with a stranger he just met, and I was surprised that he didn't even take an action with it and only stayed quiet at the corner, but I can tell that he is just observing the situation in front of him.'

"Well, first of all, I apologize for just appearing out of nowhere and to be honest, I just accidentally stumbled on this place since I got summoned by the Headmaster of this academy. By the way, my name is Francis Aiden Kashaya. Just call me Francis."

He introduced himself to the two of them and he noticed that the Grand Duke frowns at him.

"You got summoned by the Headmaster? Are you related to the Headmaster?"

Francis smiled at him as he speaks; "We're not related though but I'm acquainted with him for a long time, Grand Duke Chevalier."

He said as he addressed the other person with his proper title since even though he is an instructor of this academy, Francis is an outsider so it's appropriate for him to addressed him in that way.

Francis saw how the Grand Duke snorted back at him and crossed his arms in front of his chest as he spoke.

"Don't address me that way and we're still inside the academy so just address me as Instructor Chevalier instead."

Francis smiled at him because that's how he knew about the First Young Master, currently the Grand Duke of Chevalier's personality.

< ... "Don't address me as the First Young Master. Inside this academy, noble status aren't that important no matter if you were a teacher or a student. Both of us are instructors and colleagues so it would be appropriate to address me as Instructor Chevalier instead. Am I right, Instructor Kashaya?" ….. >

He chuckled as he remembered that memory from the previous timeline and Francis saw how the Grand Duke frowns at him.
