Chapter 95: Invited Guests

LOCATION: CRUX CITY, CENTRAL REGION OF STELLARUS EMPIRE

"As a Host, I welcome you both to Crux city, the Central Region of Stellarus Empire."

Both Lorraine and Francis looked at the window carriage when the Grand Duke greeted them as they entered the Central Region and both visitors of the Grand Duke knew that this were the usual protocol of every Host that were invited to their household.

'Well, practically speaking, from my experiences within these nobles, I bet only the Chevalier household would only have done something like this, unlike the other noble households that I encountered, be it on the previous timeline or the current one.'

Lorraine thought as she relaxed herself and leaned on since in the whole journey, she is tired after that graduation ceremony back at the academy.

Now that she graduated from the academy and not only that, having the Grand Duke Chevalier household as her backer and the Grand Duke Chevalier as Lorraine's guardian, she bet that no one would dare to make a messed with her while she's staying in the Central Region.

The Crux city, Stellarus Empire's Central Region, a city where most of the high-ranking noble households resides within this place, together with the Stellarus Royal family that is situated at the center-most of the city.

As the carriages bearing the symbol of the household of war heroes, the Chevaliers, the Capital city's gate automatically opened and the guards who stationed at the capital's entrance, they welcomed him back at the Central Region.

"Welcome back to the Central Region, Grand Duke Chevalier. If you'll excuse us for a moment, a little inspection is a must. We apologize for the inconvenience."

After the guards stated their words, the carriage door opened and the first one to go out was none other than the Grand Duke himself.

"No need to worry about it since you guys are doing your jobs. Aside from my escorts and my trusted aide, I have two additional visitors with me, and I invited them to join me at my manor. Would that be suffice?"

Although the Grand Duke stated those words in a polite manner, Lorraine knew that those words had an underlying meaning to it and her interpretation of the Grand Duke's words are;

< ….. "Sure, go ahead. Be sure to report it properly to His Majesty the Emperor on what you see. Got it?" ….. >

Lorraine saw how the guard's expression became pale because of the Grand Duke's statement and only nodded and didn't say anything else.

'It might sound vague and plain but those are threatening words direct towards to the Emperor. This guy sure really doesn't afraid, eh?'

Well, Lorraine couldn't blame the Grand Duke. After all, his hatred towards the Royal family intensified because of the incident from three years ago.

Ezekiel's demise and the Crown Prince's involvement on the said case but the Emperor just covered it up and never brought it up and even had the nerve to dismiss the case just to protect that b*stard of a Crown Prince.

As a result, it's the Emperor's fault for losing the complete trust from the household of war heroes.

She snapped from her thoughts as she looked over and then walked out to the carriage as well, together with Francis who assisted her, and she gladly took his hand.

'It will be better if someone saw us like this, unlike if they saw me with the Grand Duke so the rumors about us would be buried in no time.'

Besides, it seems that Francis doesn't mind at all as he still had that polite smile on his face, like how he usually does.

"Ah! Sir Kashaya, you're here as well!"

Lorraine circled her hands around within Francis' arm and he just looked back at her with a raised eyebrow and then chuckled as he diverted his attention away from her and confronted the guard who called him out that seemed to have recognized him.

"I met the Grand Duke back at the academy since he is acquainted with the Headmaster and the Headmaster introduced me to the Grand Duke. Is that alright?"

'Why am I being surrounded with psychos, by the way?'

Lorraine didn't know what kind of drama she is watching right now, and she noticed that there are audience around them who loves to gossip and the woman knew that this incident would be brought up in the upcoming days.

The Grand Duke also noticed the people that surrounds them as well, but he wasn't that bothered that much and since the inspection had already been settled then, they were now back at the carriage and the guards let them inside the Central Region.

'I don't know what kind of commotion that would happen in the following days, but I know for sure that the Grand Duke had already gotten control of it.'

Lorraine thought as she thought of what she would be doing from now on since she had graduated from the academy and now, she had an alliance with the Grand Duke, and an additional member of the alliance, Francis Aiden Kashaya.

'It seems like… a storm is coming…'

LOCATION: CHEVALIER HOUSEHOLD MANOR

The carriages entered the residence of the Chevalier household in the central region and all the servants around unloaded the things their master and his visitors had, and others prepared the rooms for their guests.

"Where's the Lady Marchioness?"

Lorraine had walked out from the carriage together with Francis as both of them tried to unload their baggage but since they were guest visitors of their master, the Grand Duke, the servants around didn't allow them to move, and they were told that leave it to them.

'Those workers truly a hard-working one, aren't they?'

She thought as she looked at the Grand Duke when she heard looking for the one, he addressed as [Lady Marchioness].

From what Lorraine had known, ever since the former Marchioness, the Grand Duke's mother, was kicked out of this manor and was send back to her natal household for her the continuation of her confinement, as Altron Zerux Chevalier inherited the Marquis (Grand Duke) title from the former Patriarch, the only person that the Grand Duke would address as [Lady Marchioness] is none other than his little sister.

The Eldest Young Lady, Felicity Thoria Chevalier, who graduated from the academy three years ago and right now, the Grand Duke's little sister is now in her 20's and should be of a marriageable age for her, according to the law.

However, it seems like the Eldest Young Lady, who the Grand Duke addressed as the Lady Marchioness, didn't want to be caught up in some political marriage and chose to be single then.

'She didn't accept the title of [Imperial Princess] that the Emperor should have bestowed upon her but having the title of the [Lady Marchioness] attached to her would be mean that she now holds a much more influential status within the socialite world, compared to the Royal Princesses.'

Lorraine thought as she remembered some of the articles that spread within the academy during her student days and since the Lady Marchioness is a graduate student of Lumen Academy, of course, she would be the center of the gossips there.

Some have admired her while others envied her at the same time.

'Well, of course, since from what I know, she's the only noble young lady that would have that title attached to her since most of the daughters of noble households were only called Young Lady and nothing else.'

"Answering the Marquis, Lady Marchioness Felicity got invited to a tea party hosted by the Young Lady from Count Velmore household."

Lorraine saw how the Grand Duke raised his eyebrow upon hearing the household name where his little sister attended to.

Grand Duke; "From the Count Velmore household? Is there someone with my sister when she attended that tea party?"

The servant beside him, the head butler of the manor, answered in a polite manner as he bowed down a little.

"Lady Marchioness Felicity went to the tea party together with the Second Young Master, Count Harrison Chevalier since the Count free his schedule to escort the Lady Marchioness when he learned that she would be attending the tea party as she got invited."

Lorraine just observe how the Grand Duke took a deep breath knowing that the Lady Marchioness had someone with her and it's their second sibling.

'I couldn't blame him for worrying about the Lady Marchioness. After all, Lady Marchioness Felicity is his little sister that he needs to protect.'

"The Lady Marchioness?"

Lorraine diverted her attention away from the Grand Duke as she looked at Francis when he mumbled those words and she just filled him up with some details since in the current timeline, Francis isn't an Instructor of the academy.

"Don't get confused since the Grand Duke isn't married yet and for what I know, the Grand Duke appointed her little sister, the Eldest Young Lady, to took up the mantle as the Marchioness of this household until the Grand Duke married someone that would take up the position of the official Marchioness title."
